Everton are woeful aren't they. They had a bit of a 'bounce' after Sam took over but they're defo sliding back again. Watching the game today the team appears lacking in pretty much every dept .

Just watching MOTD and as usual, the fat one always takes the plaudits when any of his clubs win, but it's always someone else's fault when they lose! - despicable bloke.

The 'fat one' that halted your slide down the slippery slope to being on the same level as Millwall?

weird seeing middle aged men hating on a figure they don't actually know but see a projection through digital means - it's like their version of love island or some shit. Muppets to a man.

Yep, the very same....

How well do you personally know Theresa May? I assume that you must have met her privately quite often to dislike her as you so obviously do.

Met her? I've fucked her.

Find me these quotes - dunno how anyone can dislike May - she's too crap to dislike.

Hmmmm. As you have referred to me as a 'middle aged man' before, I'm going to presume this is at least partly directed at me, despite showing nothing in the way of hate towards the man in any of my posts. On the contrary in fact, I quite like Sam. But unlike you, I'm aware of his limitations as a manager. If you wish to take my pointing them out as hate, then go for it.

I hope he was on about me then as it's been about 30+ years since anyone's referred to me as a middle aged man, sadly, fast approaching age 77 disqualifies me, but thanks for the compliment.

As everyone knew when he got the job (well, apart from Abertawe it seems) Allardyce and his obvious limitations were not a long term solution for any team of ambition beyond safety. Will keep them up around middtable and someone else will come in over the summer. Not sure who it will be though, they're not exactly the most appealing destination even for up and coming managers. Dangling a big budget in front of potential suitors could help, it's certainly the reason Koeman went there.

Yep, agree with that and whoever the manager eventually is to rebuild this team he's facing a difficult task. Just look at the age of these guys. The squad is gonna need a massive overhaul which will likely cost a wad of cash and that's IF the manager/club has the pull to bring in the quality needed.

Rooney 33 this year
Jagielka 36 this year
Williams 34 this year
Sigurðsson 29 this year
Bolasie 29 this year
Schneiderlin 29 this year
Baines 34 this year
Coleman 30 this year
Gueye 29 this year
Martina 29 this year

^so basically the defence needs rebuilding - sam could build a defence in his sleep. the rest of the squad bar the forward line is strong - depth aplenty.

Strong? Perhaps for a lower to midtable team I suppose but I think many Evertonians ,like my brother , have aspirations higher than that. And this current squad lacks quality all over and needs a massive retooling for it to come close to challenging top four.

You is trolling son - it's not big and it's not clever.

Read between the lines and analyse what the squad should look like next season and it's clear the squad is strong. Note the amount of talented youngsters in the ranks. No big changes needed - don't believe your own nonsense.

Goalies
Pickford (23)
Stekelenburg
Robles

Full backs
Coleman
Kenny (20)
Holgate (21)
Martina
Baines

Centre backs
Keane (25 - no age for a CB)
Funes Mori
New signing ready for first team (Zouma maybe)
New signing with potential for the future

Centre mids
Schneiderlin
McCarthy
Gueye
Davies (19)
Baningime (19)
New signing (Joe Allen maybe)

Attacking mids
Siggy's son
Rooney
New signing with potential for the future

Forwards
Bolasie
Lennon
Lookman (20)
Vlasic (20)
Calvert-Lewin (20)

Front men
Tosun
Onyekuru (20)
New signing that can go straight into the first team and bag lots of goals (Come on Wilfried Bony)

Move on the following - will free up lots of wages - these guys must be costing £350k p/w minimum
Williams
Jagielka
Besic
Klaassen
Mirallas
Niasse
Ramirez

So looking at a potential matchday team for next season they're in good shape - first 11 is better than anything outside the top guns and the bench is hench as fuck.

Bony
Siggy's son Rooney Bolasie
Gueye Schneiderlin
Baines Zouma Keane Kenny
Pickford

Martina
Holgate
Funes Mori
McCarthy
Davies
Lookman
Tosun
So I make that two signings needed for a matchday squad and what a matchday squad that would be. Great players who can come into it too, so much depth. Pace, technique, delivery, heading, dynamism, discipline, proven goals, true killers with a dead ball. Everton will be on fire next season - all together now - BIG SAMS BARMY ARMY

It makes no difference, Sam is unlikely to be there. He was a panic appointment to ensure survival when they finally realised there was no magical mangerial appointment available and they were in free fall with Unsworth. He was only given an 18 month contract for a reason.

Of course, they could decide to go back to being the Everton they were under Moyes, in which case keeping Sam would be perfect. But I can't see the new owner allowing that. They have moved up a level in terms of ambition.

£100 Sam will be manager of Everton football club next season?

Edit - he was only given 18 months because Sam knows it will only take one full season to win the league - he will then retire into the sunset.

Er no, not trolling at all but rather simply stating an opinion on the state of Everton's current squad . Though I must have hit a nerve for you to go to such detail in listing the mediocrity that's currently there. Bottom line is other than perhaps Pickford not one of the current Everton squad would get a start at Liverpool or probably any of the other top six clubs. Last summers business was mostly awful and those mistakes will have to be corrected and better players brought in to try and bridge the gap with the top six clubs.
That will not be easy to do , Everton are not an attractive destination for top talent and neither will Allardyce have top players clamouring to play for him.
What he can and will do is organise the team , make Everton more difficult to break down and compete with the likes of Burnley,Leicester etc . But it's going to take a more forward thinking manager and some......lots of clever scouting and signings to move Everton out of midtable into a postion to challenge for top four.
And that's my opinion.............not a troll.

I was watching ToffeeTV last night and 4 Evertonians said it was going to take at least 3-5 years to sort out the team if they wanted to compete.

the sort of bewildered soul that would partake in or watch "ToffeeTV" isn't worth a dime to the reality of the situation. sam is a good man - straight as a bat, tells it like it is, works the market brilliantly because he knows the football business and above all else knows how to get eleven sometimes up to fourteen men to eek out a game of association football. the mature everton fans know this season is a write off - they were a chance and niasse being a dopey bastard on his post away from taking Liverpool back to Goodison in the cup and look at what they did to City - sam will look at the squad from now until season end and build it to compete in the following. it will not surprise me to see them finishing above one of their financial superiors - arsenal being most likely.

Be interesting to aee what happens with Rooney now. Best setup looks like:

Gueye Schneiderlin
Walcott Sigurdsson Bolasie
Tosun

No room for Roo.

He can be extremely frustrating, sometimes it's as if he has two left feet. However his movement and pace make him easy to create chances for and he's capable when confidence is high of being pretty clinical. He is very much a 'wide forward' than a winger though, if that's part of Allardyce's plan then I can see him getting double figures per league calender for you.

I'd have rather kept Theo than Welbeck or Iwobi, although that might be damning with faint praise?

Could they play Sigurdsson in a deeper role, I'm pretty sure Iceland played him in a flat four in midfield at the Euros?

Remember that record summer of spending? On this evidence Everton will need to exceed it when this pathetic campaign is over and done with.

The problem is £150m may not even scratch the surface this time. --Phil Kirkbride (Liverpool Echo).

Fail to get three points at home against Leicester tomorrow and it will be no wins in their last 8 games. We're seeing why he was a panic appointment and the first choice of no one at the club.

They are all expensive signings. Allardyce shouldn't be allowed to sell them off if he is going to be gone next year. Ok Schneiderlin can go.

Sorry mate, I can imagine it's unpleasant to see your prediction of Everton under Allardyce to be falling apart in front of your eyes.

It won't be too bad though, they won't be dicing with the relegation spots and will finish around middtable. That's a decent starting point for the next manager with a good budget. Allardyce can then go back to his retirement with another (albeit slightly bent) feather in his cap.

I've stated numerous times to ignore this season - Sam doesn't fuck with sloppy seconds. Next season - Sams first full season - they will be top 7 and I will bet you on that.
