roversfan2001 here's a little Leon Best update for you, returned from injury yesterday and came on at half time. He was substituted on 53 minutes after getting injured. He really is turning out to be an inspired signing.

roversfan2001 here's a little Leon Best update for you, returned from injury yesterday and came on at half time. He was substituted on 53 minutes after getting injured. He really is turning out to be an inspired signing.

In fairness we still have 5 first teamers out plus a couple with illness, so it's certainly not exclusive to Charlton. I though McCall was going to have to come on yesterday it's getting that bad, I suppose a big difference is however we have one of the top scorers in the league not Leon Best which always helps. With Marshy he was terrible under Parkinson and fantastic under McCall, maybe he can only thrive in certain environments.

I really couldn't care less if we finish bottom half this season as long as we start next season afresh with new owners.

Seen the rumours but don't know what was said to him. Pretty naff atmosphere down there yesterday from what I hear with that incident and our own players being hit with bottles from the home stands.

To be fair most defenders have looked weak against Eaves this season, haven't seen a striker as powerful as him since we had Akinfenwa.

Somewhat comforting to hear that at least we aren't the only club he's stolen a wage from. At least he wasn't on the pitch long enough to put the ball in his own net again.

If you're aiming for promotion, which for a club the size of Charlton should be the aim, then try looking at how far you are off the automatic promotion spots.

Devoting the rest of this season to getting that prick Roland out and getting proper football people in then mounting a challenge next season, like Bobbin' said, is your lot's best hope. I do quite like Charlton, I'm looking forward to visiting you lot later this year, hopefully for a promotion party.

Apparently, we got ourselves into a right financial mess because we signed Allan Simonsen from Barcelona, which stretched the club's financial resources to the point where a downward spiral began which led to near bankruptcy.

Cutting a very long and sad story short, after a match at Swansea, the club couldn't even afford to travel to Blackburn for their next fixture and had Rovers not agreed to postpone the match, the League would have expelled us, expunged our record from that season's stats and we would - literally - have gone out of business.

As it was, Blackburn did us a massive favour, a rescue plan proposed by a building company was accepted by the High Court, just a few hours before the bankruptcy deadline and we managed to go on. Phew.

Thanks to Blackburn's willingness to help a fellow club in difficulty, we have a club today. It really was that serious.

I started going to Charlton games in 1994 and do not recall any of this.

If this happened after our exile (which I believe Gillingham fans claim) I will always have my reservations as Charlton fans have never been anything but sympathetic towards clubs in trouble. If as claimed, it was just Charlton fans outside Priestfield then yes the individuals are c*** but as a club, Charlton are not responsible.

Having met many Charlton fans over the 23 years I've been following them, I've never met one who has mertioned any embarrassment over anything.

If we're referring to Valley Expess in the early to mid 00s then Gillingham's argument is simply desperate and embarrassing.

Pretty much what I've always said, a few idiots handing out leaflets whilst decent Charlton fans help to raise funds.

You couldn't have tried it, The Valley Express was to offer already Charlton fans cheap travel to The Valley. Surely everyone knows that Charlton are a well supported club throughout Kent. You couldn't bus any Gills fans in from South London because, well there isn't any.

The Valley Express also came from Surrey, Sussex, Essex etc yet I don't recall any Southend or Brighton fans pissing and crying about it.

This is just criminal what this man has done to our football club.

He never had any interest in Charlton Athletic. He's absolutely bled us dry and left us with a decimated squad of players. He's stripped us of almost all our assets, Konsa likely to be the next, put hardly any money back in and is now looking likely to sell the club for almost double what he paid for it despite everything.

Proud of our players and manager, despite the best efforts of this prick we are still giving it a go and sit in the top 6.
