Fair play to Dennis getting back to the level he's at now. When we released many years ago he looked a million miles away from being any good, I remember him missing an open goal from 2 yards out! Done it the hard way.

He's one of them most of our fans never really rated and some of the comments on social media are crazy. If he could head a breeze block i'm sure our fans would prefer it than someone who has a nack of scoring goals. Same happened with Leon Clarke when he was here..now look at him.

chester have let pretty much everyone out of contract go, with the exception of Gary Roberts, Nathan Brown and Matty Hughes

Jordan Archer, Ross Hannah, Kingsley James, Craig Mahon and Matty Waters are still under contract

http://www.chesterfc.com/2018/06/01/statement-an-update-on-the-first-team-squad/
I’ll be interested to see who’s foolish enough to take some of them on, I mean the likes of Rowe-Turner, Dawson and for half a season Andy Halls, were absolutely woeful.

Akintunde is the only one I’d have kept, he has potential and still good enough for the level above.

Matty Hughes is actually a new signing.

We’ve let go of Tyrone Sterling, Ben Wynter, Kris Campbell & Iffy Allen.
Surprised Sterling was on that list, can only assume (hope) we have something lined up. We haven’t got a left back at the club currently.
The other three are no shocks.

see i thought Dawson showed signs of something useful in the derby game at the racecourse, albeit he was played out of the game by our midfield, but i see he is literally hated by the chester fans??

To be fair Dawson does have some ability, he is quite neat and stylish on his day and when the Hollywood passes come off it looks brilliant. The problem is that it only comes off 2 or 3 times out of 10 and he’s not the player for a relegation battle, bit of a luxury.

He always divided opinion but pretty much everyone turned on him when he appeared to get himself deliberately sent off against Torquay.

"Our new management team have moved quickly to hold talks with players and formulate a squad to battle in the National League North for the coming season.

The retained list includes a mix of experience and youth as we bid to re-establish ourselves following relegation from the National League, taking up options on both Joe Green and Curtis Morrison, whilst agreeing a new deal with Will Thornton who enters his third season with the senior squad after graduating from the academy.

Players also under contract for the 2018/19 season include centre-back Harry Flowers, midfielders Alex Purver, Will Hatfield, John Rooney, Lee Molyneux and Alex-Ray Harvey and strikers Reece Thompson, Dayle Southwell and Rowan Liburd.

Players released by the club include defenders Ben Frempah, Danny Lowe, Elliot Green, Marcus Williams, Danny East, Rob Atkinson and Darren Holden.

Also leaving Nethermoor are midfielders James Wesolowski, Jake Lawlor, Kevan Hurst, Callum McFadzean, Simon Lenighan and Andy Haworth along with striker Mike Fondop.

Striker Frank Mulhern has also left the club to join Stockport County for an undisclosed fee.

Negotiations are continuing with other members of the squad from last season.

Players from the club’s very successful academy side will be invited to take part in pre-season training and friendly games.

Among them will be goalkeeper Fletcher Paley, who signed first team forms last season, and midfielders George Gomersall and Scott Smith, both of whom spent last season out on loan to gain experience.

We would like to thank everyone for all their efforts in a Guiseley shirt and wish them the best of luck for the future."

He is, just needs to read the game better as he was guilty of several last ditch fouls last season costing cards, free kicks/penalties and goals. He's young though so plenty of time to develop.

I'd imagine several of the contracted players will move on before the season starts as there are some big wages involved there.

Giving away free kicks/cards is Gannon’s pet hate. We won the fair play award under him last season and not for the first time.

So could be a good match if he listens to Jim

Now transfer listed Robbie Weir, just a month after we announced he had extended his contract.

Whoever gets him next is going to have a hell of a job rebuilding him, he's been awful for 2 seasons now!

Alex Finney just confirmed as making last year's loan deal permanent, on a 2 year contract (I believe the first one we've given out). Massive signing that, genuinely thought he'd be off to League 2 at least after QPR released him.

Nah, Coker & De Havilland are both on 2 year deals.

Josh Kays name was doing the rounds down here alongside Evo's appointment.

Evo is a top bloke as well, great guy to have around the club and could probably play at this level as well if needed.

I think he's told the local press that he's not gonna be a player, though I can see himself registering himself "just in case".
Josh Kay makes sense, presuming he's also Blackpool based.

We've released a few kids too who with the right attitude can make it at this level, Evo will know these well obviously so potentially can see him taking a punt on Ricky German or Delial Brewster too.
