Has anyone announced any yet.

Today we've announced 5 away games:

Nantwich Town (a)Saturday 6 July, 3pm
Witton Albion (a) Tuesday 16 July, 7:45pm
Curzon Ashton (a) Tuesday 16 July, 7:45pm
Wrexham AFC (a) Saturday 27 July, 3pm
Colwyn Bay (a) Tuesday 30 July, TBC

Wrexham game should be pretty tasty. Heard we might be playing a home game Vs Burnley also.

Announced our first 2 today, Barrow away and Accrington at home. Stanley being a bit of a weird one for a friendly.

2 teams who kick our players to bits, expect half of our squad to be injured at the start of the season again.

Good to see you supporting non league minnows like Wrexham.

We always have shocking friendlies.
I never attend any which begs the question why am I even on this thread .

Fleetwood at home on a Wednesday night.
They might bring 7 in a gate of 700.

I'll watch Homes under the hammer boxset instead

We've announced a training camp at Woodbury Park in Exeter again this year, plus friendlies @ Weston 11/7 and Bristol City (H) 24/7.

We don't normally play City, it's often been Rovers but this year Cheltenham are playing the Gas and not City so seems we might have swapped.

We’ve announced ours:

Friday, June 28, 6.30pm: Jersey (away)
Friday, July 5, 7pm: Truro City (away)
Tuesday, July 9, 7.15pm: Tiverton Town (away)
Friday, July 12, 7pm: Bath City (away)
Tuesday, July 16, 7.30pm: Weston-super-Mare (away)
Saturday, July 20: TBC (home)
Thursday, July 25, 7pm: Taunton Town (away)
Saturday, July 27, 3pm: Torquay United (away)

So only one home friendly which Taylor said he’s hoping will be against higher league oppo. I guess someone like Bristol Rovers or something....

Quite tempted to go to Torquay away as it’s been a while!

Wrexham away, 3pm on a Saturday? Lovely.
Nantwich on a Saturday as well, none of this midweek nonsense. If the home game with Burnley happens and a few more fitness games, this would actually be a solid set of friendlies.

I expect we'll lose the Wrexham game, we have a habit of getting beat by lower league opposition in friendlies in recent years. See Macc, Barrow, Lincoln and Chester for example.

Crawley have three announced.

Swansea City 13Jul. Home
Horsham. 20Jul. Away
Portsmouth. 27Jul. Home

Horsham are opening their new ground (The Hop Oast) and I will try to make that game as I do enjoy the games against the local non league clubs. If you were not aware Horsham is about ten miles south west of Crawley and vies with other places as the richest town in Britain. Mind you, the urban creep means we are now pretty much joined along the A264.

The other two games I am not fussed about but the Pompey game could be fun as they tend to have a a few people turn up and they have always been a friendly bunch when playing against us.

Some of them went on to good things! We were 3-0 up in 15 minutes mind!

We did play them under Bruno also (4-2 win) in 2016 so maybe mixing up with that again Tyler Blackett was about their highest profile player IIRC.

We played a Utd XI back in 2013, there fans were nothing but trouble. Brought a fairly decent side though

MANCHESTER UNITED: Johnstone; Wootton, Vidic (Pearson, 62) Thorpe (Grimshaw, 70), Vermijl; Valencia, Lawrence (Rothwell, 76) Cole, Nani (Bebe, 65); Petrucci, Macheda. Subs not used: Gollini, Barmby, Wilson

Goals: Nani (11, 58)

i never attend any apart from Newcastle Town who we play every year for about the last 30 years. Feel like as a local club by buying a beer and going it helps them out a bit as Vale and Stoke games probably help run their whole season.

Really though i'm very unenthusiastic about pre season, glorified testimonial and like i said previously ours are always garbage.
Topped off by Fleetwood this July :sna:

Always think Vale do miss a trick as a Villa or Everton would each bring a couple of thousand to boost the coffers but we always end up with tripe.

Wonder if that was James Wilson on the bench . Been about a while and done next to nothing after scoring on his debut i seem to remember?
Might of been at Brighton.
I am presuming Pearson is the one at Preston and Lawrence is Tom ?

The side we played a few had good careers away from Utd . Shawcross, Cathcart, Drinkwater, Chester.

I dont tend to go at all unless we've got some random foreign side at home such as Getafe the other year... watching them try and handle Uche was hilarious, no wonder Messi gets so many goals in La Liga!

Otherwise I might go if playing locally to me in Leicestershire/Notts such as went Ilkeston or Harborough.

Really ?
Christ no wonder Stoke-on-Trent is seen as the monkey dust capital.
Not a prayer of signing him. Don't even know if still at United as per my post above.

Hes been on loan from United at Aberdeen (4 goals in 24 according to wiki)...

Guy who said it reckons him, Bowery and Dickinson are signing... on the latter two I hope it is monkey dust talking!

I think you'll find we are in a mini-tournament with Ajax, Inter Milan and Barcelona in July, so we can't fit all those other ones in too.

Just checked we've got Trinity at home and the winner plays Grantham...who have announced that we're playing them on July 9th in a regular friendly anyway so if we beat Trinity at this moment in time, we'll have two matches against Grantham haha.

We have the below confirmed along with some local fixtures for the youth team. The squad will also have a training camp up in Scotland with one or two local games to be announced.

We’ve had some poor starts In the past which was down to poor pre season schedules. This has a much more structured feel to it now Calderwood is at the wheel.
