Buxton 0-1 Stockport County (Adam Thomas, 83)

Played on the 3G pitch at Hyde United. I couldn't make the game but sounded like a good workout against aggressive opposition. Adam Thomas nicking in to score from about 6 yards after good work down the left from Stephenson.

We seem to have a pretty settled side already in terms of our defensive shape. Ash Palmer seems to have settled in well and Jordan Keane sitting in front of the defence has given Turnbull the chance to play further forward to good effect. That being said, Sam Walker seems to be playing his way back into the team with some excellent performance in pre-season.

Going forwards though we have soooo many options, with a number of players able to play in a number of different positions in attack. Should allow for some fluidity in our attacking play.

We beat a very poor Notts Forest U23s team 5-0.......seriously they looked Ryman Premier standard at best.
We lost 5-4 away against Benficas B team.

Mooney, Bonne, Alabi and Brophy scored for us.

We went 4-1 down, pulled it back to 4-4 before losing to a 90th minute penalty.

We'll be away to East Thurrock United on Tuesday night next.

Good to see James Alabi scoring after his nightmare last season.

It’s going to be a tough test, but I think we can give Macclesfield a good game.

Meh, we'll be the more exciting side to watch though, drew 6-6 with Weston-Super-Mare the other night. Total football. Our defence looks better then last season.

Hammered Leatherhead 4-0. Had about 8 triallists, one of which (triallist C) sounds like he had a stormer.

Either he was very fast or the Leatherhead defence was very slow. Passed Saturday's test with flying colours but a tougher one tomorrow against Oxford - if he passes that hopefully GW will have the contract ready for him to sign after the game.

Saturday was a perfect day, lovely weather and for once we didnt get beaten by the lower division side. Only pre-season but good to see Fenelon, Rendell and McClure get on the scoresheet.

Lost 3-2 to a team of Newcastle kids. We played very good football first half and John Rooney scored a great free kick.

A couple of the new signings look like being donkeys though...

First real test of pre-season tonight for us as we welcome League One side Rochdale to Edgeley Park.

I don't think we've played Rochdale in any sort of game since we beat them in the League Two play off final back in 2008! Oh how times have changed!

I suspect tonight's game for us is about fitness and defensive shape. You'd expect Rochdale to control the game for the much part, so it'll be a good test of resolution when backs are against the wall.

We journey deep into Essex to Maldon to face Maldon & Tiptree this evening. Surely tonight we will score our first goal at the forth time of asking.

Don't read too much into pre-season results, but a lack of goals in the team is already a concern without this barren run after three games.

We play Gateshead at home on Saturday, it'll be interesting to see how strong they are after all the turmoil they've gone through. I guess we'll both field a different team in each half at this stage of preseason though so it may be hard to tell.

Were at Gainsborough tonight with 3 trialists - Sam Muggleton, Liam McAlinden and Lewis Walker.

Both Maguire bros playing and I think slabhead senior is watching on - El Slabheadico

Torquay lost 1-0 to Plymouth Argyle tonight, a good test against a decent opposition. Although the back line were solid the lack of a decent striker is still a concern.

We lost 3-2 to what appeared to be Port Vale's full team. We look handy going forward but dodgy at the back. 3 of the back 4 being trialists probably doesn't help

Beat Gainsborough 4-0 tonight, slow start but we grew into the game and could have had 6 or 7 tbh!

Particularly impressed with Curtis Weston tonight, looked a quality box to box player with bags of energy. Also caught a glimpse of new striker Lee Shaw and can tell he's gunna be a defenders nightmare with non stop running and hassling.

Of the trialists, Mcalinden impressed and scored a good goal but I think what we need is a big horrible centre forward that wins majority of their headers and can hold it up. But I wouldn't be disappointed if we did offer him a deal. Sam Muggleton's long throw is deadly but he can't play football so that's a no from me

oh and young slabhead Laurence Maguire (Harry's younger brother) scored a towering header beating Slabhead senior Joe Maguire (Harry's older brother) in the air for the 4th...

Right that's it, the National League is coming home and corners are going to be as deadly as penalties for us next season...

Pretty standard 3-0 win against Buxton from the Northern Premier. The first 2 goals were gifts from the Buxton triallist keeper who was hilariously bad. He came flying out in the 8th minute and left Craig King with a simple lobbed finish. Then two minutes later he made a total mess of a simple back pass from former Alfreton player Greg Young and the ball agonising rolled over his foot and in to the net.

The game drifted after that 2 goal head start before Curtis Bateson cut inside and finished with aplomb.

Been difficult too many conclusions so far. The games have been tame affairs although we did play well first half against Morecambe and caught the eye tonight too at times.

On to Forest Under 23 next On Saturday.

We drew 0-0 with Maidenhead tonight and the above is being stated in reference to ourselves. I'm confident we'll get that right however.

For 65 mins this was keenly contested, 2 bookings even, Macc didnt like being beaten by a team 2 leagues below and had a good go, Alty should really have bagged a couple more as well later on, lots of changes later on both sides with trialists. Its only a PSF but on that showing I would worry about Macc staying in the FL, they still dont even have a keeper signed up.

Drew 1-1 at home to Colchester’s first team. Cheek scored from a free kick, surprised he is still here. Went 1 up only to lose the lead in last five minutes, mainly due to 8 subs second half of which 5 were trialists. One thing that can be agreed is it’s certainly not hoofball like under Still.

We have a very long way to go in getting a competitive side together, we are very young and lightweight which is a recipe for disaster in this league. I think we’ll stay up, just.

Beat Dorking Wanderers 4-0 in the opening match at their new Meadowbank Stadium. Goals from Collins, Clough, Cadogan and an o.g. gave the U’s victory. We haven’t conceded a goal this pre-season yet

drew 2-2 against Bangor City.

there was meant to be a big boycott of the game due to the current predicaments that a certain Stephen Vaughn has got the club into, but still had 601 people watching, majority of these would have been Bangor or exile fans though

Big Mike scored again, 3 in 3. watch out boys, we are deadly

You've got a good one there in Mike. Very raw but huge potential. He's a better version of our trialist striker therefore I wish he was still with us

Stockport County 0-1 Rochdale.

Pretty much as expected. Rochdale controlled the game, we defended well on the whole but barely had a sniff at goal.

1-0 against Palace reserves last night.
Like the improvements at the back, playing with formation still but looks like it’ll go 3 at the back.
Goal scorer short at the moment.
