Chester 0-7 Liverpool today. Result as expected, bumper gate the main thing for us.

Wilson x2, Milner, Sturridge x2, Kent & Ings scored for them. Was their first team minus the players featuring at the World Cup.

Barnet 0-3 West Brom (Edwards, Robson-Kanu x2)

We matched them in the first half, then the reserves/U23s came on for the second and played some tidy football but couldn't defend.

Two trialists on show. I'm fairly sure one of them was Rhys Murrell-Williamson, who looked decent. The other was a backup GK. He was ginger, average height for a GK, and looked to be around his late 20s. Anyone know any free agent GKs who meet that description?

Sutton beat Coventry 2-0 thanks to an o.g and a goal from Craig Dundas. A better result than last years 1-0 defeat against the same opponents in pre-season

We began yesterday with a 1-0 defeat to Doncaster. Total None event. Had the air of a game which knew it wasnt the centre of attention. Summed up by the fact blew the full time whistle on 87 minutes.

We beat Shildon 2-1 on Saturday. Barnsley next up tomorrow evening. Really struggling to bring myself to care about the coming season.

Hythe 0-1 Dover

had nothing much to do so went
3 forwards looked quick/skilful - opposite of ryan bird. the 'a trialist' brothers weren't up to much
hythe's keeper was of the brick shithouse variety - he was huge
always cold in Hythe - even in July

Decent game, both clubs changing teams at half time.
We already look to have 100% more desire than last season, although that wouldn't be difficult!
Looking forward to this season now.

Drew 0-0 with Heybridge Swifts this evening, all I know is Cheek played. Behind closed doors friendly due to some issues with Swifts stadium.

Any idea who the trialists were for Barrow last night? Know an ex-Blackpool striker played and looked a decent prospect along with Steven Rigg (Ex-Carlise). Apart from Jason Taylor, nothing else has been said about the rest of thre trialists who played last night, including who scored?

Stockport Town 0-6 Stockport County (Frank Mulhern, Paul Turnbull, Matty Warburton, Darren Stephenson, Sam Walker & Nyal Bell.

I didn't make it to the match but sounds like we blew them away in the first half and added 2 more in the 2nd.

Kallum Mantack and Alex Whittle the only trialists in the squad I think.

The ones that featured so far are:
Jason Taylor
Steven Rigg
Callum Saunders (Dean Saunders' son)
Raul Correia (ex-Blackpool)
Rhys Turner (ex-Morecambe)

Not heard about any others, but I think there's been around 11 or 12 triallists in the squads so far.

We duly got thumped 7-1 by Barnsley. I can't see us doing anything at all this season as we can't defend.

Well turns out ours has changed over the last few weeks

Our updated list

Tuesday 3rd July Carlton Town (A) 19:45 *Cancelled*
Saturday 7th July Doncaster Rovers (H) 15:00 Lost 1-0
Friday 13th July Scunthorpe United (H) 19:45 *Cancelled* ( Now Morecambe instead)
Tuesday 17th July Buxton (H) 19:45
Saturday 21st July Nottingham Forest U23 (H) 15:00
Wednesday 25th July Burton Albion XI (H) 19:45 (Development also away at Heanor Town)
Saturday 28th Chesterfield (H) 15:00

So we have let Matlock and Buxton down and moved a Saturday 3pm to a friday night. Hmm.

Admission for the home games is £10 Adults. £4 Concessions

However after poor interest last season we have announced a special Pre season ticket where you can watch all 5 home games for £30 adults and £18 Concessions with payment upfront, Decent deal.

Updated. After Scunthorpe`s embarrassing cancellation. Morecambe will now provide opposition on Friday night

Rhys Turner was with us back end of last season (having started his football career with us). He's a good player. Should easily be playing National League.

He wasn’t good enough to get in our side regularly with us in the NL.

Disappointing in his second spell here but has potential.

Really?? He played something like 17 games in half a season before getting snapped up by Oldham.

2nd spell he looked bright until injury away at Southport.

Badly worded post - fantastic in his first spell and was happy to have him back.

But I’m not surprised we haven’t tried to re-sign him based on his second spell. And he’s always picking up injuries.
