Getting an early start for the game that could produce the biggest L2 attendance this season (unless our game v Mansfield surpasses it, or Cov go well and start getting them in), should be 11k+ with 4k from Lincoln.

As for the game itself, difficult one to call, should be a decent clash in centre mid with our young enforcer Ryan Yates, on loan from Forest, and Rob Milsom, versus Bostwick and Woodyard. I'd like to think Brisley and Duffy could handle Rhead/Green, but we don't yet yet if Brisley will be fit - he went off injured v Crawley. And Stead and Forte up top for us won't find it easy against Lincoln's defence, I reckon.

Can see both sides cancelling each other out tbh, I'll go for a low-scoring draw, or Notts to nick it 1-0 thanks to a moment of quality from Grant...

Really impressed with both clubs so far . Despite another Mansfield fan stating otherwise, the start is deserved and well founded - given how you ended last season it's not a massive surprise. And Lincoln, seemingly going to sell out, should be at least 10,000 there, and then some

I can't get to this one, which I'm not happy about. Can't remember the last time I missed a Notts/Lincoln game.

It sounds like you play similar to us, so it wouldn't surprise me if it was another Mansfield type game i.e. little between the teams. We've always been in games this season and the two we've lost have been 1-0's and we're finding it's small margins at the minute.

We need to find a way of keeping Green more central or getting more pace up there with him because he's doing too much of his work in the channels and leaving us with no-one in the box because Rhead can't get there.

Will be interesting to see whether we go for two young, quick wingers or one of those and someone like Knott who'll be a little more disciplined but is actually a central player.

I had pretty major surgery a month ago but, seeing as I'm recovering in Lincoln and have nothing better to do, I've decided to go to this. Getting on the train which should be packed and will arrive in Nottingham at 11.30. I've been largely bed bound for the last month and I was out of breath walking for 20 minutes yesterday, so I might struggle to get to and from the ground  so if you see a guy in a Lincoln shirt out of breath and struggling to walk, it'll probably be me!

First goal here will be massive, think both are going to be more comfortable protecting a lead than chasing a game.

It'll be nice to have a proper crowd and atmosphere down at ML, at least.

Actually think both sides will be going hell for leather and have Notts to shade it 3-2 on the prediction thing.
It sometimes happens when sides have been good defensively that it explodes for a match.
I can see 11-12k for this but imagine if both sides are up there the Mansfield game could attract 13-14k

hope you're alright mate.

Don't worry, they'll be plenty of county fans going slow and not walking fast :P1:

Honestly reckon most of the old boys have died off since this was actually a thing. Crowd at ML seems younger than ever currently.

Probably so, it's still only a ribbing though, no malice.

Looking at Mansfield's attendances in recent times aka ever, i'm guessing Mr Radford would take any age demographic to turn up are Field Mill. OAPs n'all

Probably my favourite away day, last time I went the place was awash with Lee Hughes masks which was a sight to see!

Will be good to give Hawkridge a good send off, a good player and by all accounts a good guy.

Looks to be a tight game and like someone earlier said a good central midfield contest. I think/hope Rhead will be changed for either Palmer or like Luke said Ginnelly on the wing with Knott 'in the hole'.

Hawkridge has settled in great, there's not many wingers at this level who you can rely on to put a decent ball into the box nine times out of ten, let alone get through the amount of defensive work that he does.

Liked Terry good player maybe just lacked a bit of pace but a great football brain, great passer and scored the two goals that clinched the title for us and he'll work damned hard, great team player.
Sad to see him go but you guys doubled his wages we offered and a longer deal so I don't blame him and he's a Notts County fan.
Really hoping EM trains put extra carriages or the trains will be crazy!

Hoping for a gate of over 11,000 for this one.
Nice payday for the chairman , always needed and well deserved.

Should be one of the leagues biggest gates of the season. Whilst it's a big payday Can't imagine the policing bill will be cheap. How much is the club liable for would it be just those inside of the ground?

It's usually only the policing costs from inside the ground I think.

Glad Lincoln are back in the league. Never particularly liked them from the visit where hundreds of seats were ripped out of the kop and skimmed along London Road. That said they offer far more to league than some I'd rather be in a 10k crowd with a tasty atmosphere win lose or draw than face Crawley on a Tuesday night when they bring less than 30 fans.

Know Lincoln are taking some stick for people jumping on the bandwagon but I'd prefer to respect those who stuck by them in their darkest days for following their local side in a generation of sky subscribers.

Gutted I'm missing it, had many happy games against Lincoln. Our record against you is alright considering our other neighbors and anyone who contributes something close to 50k in a single game is appreciated.

I don't think it will be pretty, probably cancel each other out but it will be entertaining. I hope we can continue the form. Grant, Yates and Forte will basically influence how we do. Our defence is based on solid foundations and a very deep central midfield. I reckon one change with Hewitt to come in and add height

I think it's great - anyone who's turning out to watch football at this level has my respect. Holding on to them long term is another thing, but even if only a thousand or two stay it's still massive.

Hundreds is pushing it. I was about 3 rows back from where that happened at the end of the game.

IIRC it was the 3-1 game reffed by Uriah Rennie (who had a stinker). He sent of Jamie Forrester just before HT and missed Jason Lee smash Nat Brown's nose about 10 seconds before he scored himself on HT.

Scott Kerr missed a penalty just before injury time at 3-1 (Spencer Weir-Daley scored our goal, I think).

Another batch of tickets being sent to Lincoln to take their allocation to 4469 - very impressive. I'd like to think we could muster the 7.5k to take it to over 12k, which is decent all round for L2 IMO.

Not sure Hawkridge will start, Allesandra has impressed recently and with us having a week's gap between Crawley and this I think Grant will start on the other flank before dropping to the bench for Exeter in midweek, then coming back in for Mansfield.

Hard to know with Nolan, but I think we will go:

Collin
Tootle, Brisley (Hewitt if not), Duffy, D Jones
Allesandra, Yates, Milsom, Grant
Stead, Forte

Is Nathan Arnold still out for Lincoln? Big miss?

Arnold had an X-Ray last Thursday and was in a protective boot, so I doubt he'll be involved. He'll be a miss for his experience as our 3 other wingers are 19/20.

Is that Dan Jones the same one you had with Munto? He absolutely did us down our right hand side at our place in that season. He looked like a player playing well below his standard that night.

Yep. Bit of a fans scapegoat in our opening day defeat at Cov (Jodi Jones got a hat-trick) but impressive defensively and offensively since then - got a few assists and scored direct from a free-kick in the last home he started. He was on loan that Munto season with a view to a £700k move!

What's the likely Lincoln starting XI?

What's the pub situation around Nottingham station going to be like? Do Notts police freak out and shut all the pubs when a half decent away following shows up? We get in at 11.30 en route to Mansfield and had planned to have a few before there before reluctantly heading off to Field Mill.

They usually give the waterfront complex to away fans and the far side of Trent bridge with those around the ground strictly for home fans.

Can someone please confirm if one can buy a ticket at FM on the day? I know this was the case last year but perhaps things have changed this season. Only asking for my dear cuz who will only know if he can make a late dash for the game on Saturday morning. Thanks.

I know this is not the Mansfield match thread but hopefully you Imps and Pies wouldn't mind me asking on here.
