Gloucestershire Constabulary said: “There were initial concerns that someone had made their way onto the pitch and made contact with a player following the final whistle at The New Lawn stadium on Monday evening.

“However CCTV was reviewed and there was seen to be no physical contact or act of aggression.

“On the night we had no reports of an assault and we have since been in contact with Forest Green Rovers to clarify whether any other incidents took place.

“We can confirm that no reports of assault have been made to police.”

Norwood said different.

And of course it's perfectly acceptable behaviour to invade the pitch and start pushing players....,
No, obviously, but it's also not acceptable to cause criminal damage, which your fans did twice in a row. Those in glass houses, Chris.

So why did Norwood say one of your lot punched McGinley if it never happened? Seems a strange thing for a Tranmere player to make up?

Well, he's since retracted his statement, but it's a moot point. Regardless of whether it did or didn't happen, Tranmere fans have roundly criticised those that were involved in the alleged aggression, whereas your fans seemed intent on defending the idiots who smashed up our stadium even after the police had confirmed it was intentional.

Can we just leave this now? You're sounding very bitter.

Haven't seen much criticism at all. Quite the opposite in fact.

Not bitter about the result at all, you deserved to win the tie.

What leaves a sour taste is not being able to clap our team off after a brilliant season cos they're too busy getting assaulted by a bunch of utter c*** who are also goading our fans. Trust me if I'd been there by myself one or two of those little twats would have spent the night at Gloucester Royal and I'd be getting another banning order. Lucky I've got more self control these days.

If you can't see the irony in this post, then there is no point in me continuing. Have a good summer bud.

Curiously the only thing that video shows is a FGR player kicking a Tranmere fan twice.

I don’t doubt a punch was thrown and if there had been evidence he would have been banned.

I`m amazed he stayed on his feet long enough to kick the fan. Oh and as for pitch invasions of course Forest Green fans would never do such a thing....Dagenham in the Play Off semi in 2017 cough cough

Tidy. Tickets go on sale from our ticket office from tomorrow so should give the numbers a boost. The eticketing thing is crap so people are waiting until they can buy in person.

Probably 10-12k Newport and 15-17k Tranmere based on figures so far. Don’t get why this is at Wembley but less ridiculous than last years game.

Tbh much prefer the Newport system of club selling tickets rather than Rovers method contracting out to See Tickets.

You'd have all been on the pitch if you'd won (see your semi final in 2017...), don't get all pretentious, Chris - doesn't become you, old bean.

Newport owe everything to us ;) - After our youth team humilated Graham Westley 4-0 on his own patch and got sacked, I honestly thought Newport would join us in being relegated in 2017. We already had one foot in the grave, because of our owner forcing the youth team to be deployed.

I just remember how bad that Newport team was that day, totally out played and out fought by a very, very young side at the time with only 3 senior pros.

Westley was rightfully sacked, I thought Michael Flynn had no chance - Turns out he was the saviour. Sometimes hammering defeats can lead to better things!

Showing yet again how stupid you are.

A friendly pitch invasion with their owin players on their own pitch is very different to Tranmere fans invading an away ground and going straight for opposition players and giving them a smack!

I realise Tranmere fans are not the brightest set of fans in the country, but blooming eck as like!!

The police investigated this fictional incident and come to the conclusion there was nothing in it. Unlike the seat smashing at Prenton Park. And maybe we are not the smartest fans but at least we don’t close our eyes to the obvious. Your team cheats, your fans are vandals, your manager is a totally deluded knob head, your owner is an unwashed tramp and you had nothing like five thousand fans at Wembley 2017. And at least we can invade an away ground. Your support couldn’t invade a phone box and if you did you would probably wreck it

A fictional incident that your striker admitted happened, and can be seen on various videos.

Gents, can we please keep this on topic. Anyone who wishes to talk about the FGR v Tranmere Play-Off, go and discuss it on the thread for that very topic. Anymore stuff not related to the PO Final will just be deleted. Cheers.

So Norwood has had his head turned by Sheffield Wednesday. I hope he puts in one last hurrah for us.
