Our keeper and defence are a disaster, Ben Killip looks like an awful signing, no confidence at all, petrified to come off his line for balls in the box, tries to palm every shot away, I mean we signed a keeper who got relegated with his last club and let in about 80 goals, I bet Pools wish they'd given Scott Loach what he wanted now.

How are Woking top of the table? They were hopeless against us.

“Can we play you every week?” Has never been more accurate than when you sing it to us.

That’s the only game we’ve been behind in so far. Got 25% of the points needed to stay up already. Solihull next. TOP OF THE TABLE CLASH.

5 changes from Taylor today. He essentially played the team that the fans have wanted and it worked. We started the game with an actual left back, put Harry Phipps in CM and DROPPED JOE QUIGLEY. Not a surprise we scored 4 then really is it...

I would be optimistic but I know the manager will baffle me as the season goes on so I think today is the exception rather than the norm.

Having seen Harrogate, I was surprised by how poor they were. They always look a threat going forward with Beck and Muldoon but they were absolutely atrocious at the back. We did look great either defensively but essentially sorted out the basics. They had no protection in the midfield at all and just let us put the ball in behind like we wanted to do regularly. Special mention to Connor Hall who was terrible in defence.

On that showing, Harrogate will win games with their firepower but I question whether they're a top 7 side. They're going to concede a hefty amount again this season.

The Famous Stockport County (And We Come From Edgeley) 2-0 Eastleigh

First half was a good game of football to watch, the visitors looked to control things a bit better in the middle of the park but were largely shut down from doing anything in the final third. County on the other hand were persistently looking to slice through the middle and make chances.

Second half, I don't know if it was us locking them out of the game or Eastleigh just simply not bothering, but they seemed to vanish. If I was a travelling fan I'd be fuming with that lack of effort after such a journey. County took the lead through a well-taken daisy-cutter from Thomas after being put through by Mulhern, and the second came from a throw-in, Osborne on the ball moving towards the D, looks up to see no-one's really on for a pass so he fires an absolute beauty into the near top corner. Look out for that one on the highlights.

Maidenhead 4-1 Chorley

Not our most convincing performance but we were comfortable in the end. Chorley will probably have to invest in their squad to avoid a relegation battle.

I'm still waiting for Jake Cassidy to turn bad. Another excellent performance from him today.

Sounds like ourselves and Yeovil are putting out a real advert for the National League here...

The wind is strong, to be fair - but we haven't figured out how to play it at all.

Absolutely destroyed Halifax first half with our pace and movement, stayed in the dressing room second. So frustrating.

Nice 1-0 win at Boreham Wood, still unbeaten and today was our first clean sheet of the season. However the most pleasing thing is that after doing his ACL away at Leyton Orient last September Tommy Wright scored the winner

He did have an absolute blinder when we played Braintree away last season so that's probably why we signed him.

Been dog turd so far and cost us today, against Sutton, against Halifax. Could he have saved Fylde's second? A taller keeper would. If we had Loach we'd have 2/3 wins out of 5 instead of just one. The defence is all over the place and a lot of that is down to who's playing behind them.

We were supposed to have turned a corner but we haven't so just another season to write off as per.

Extremely flattering result for the Berkshire Magpies.
Not really performed that well....yet we are in the play offs position.
Make of that what you will.

Going forward we look good but lacking the finishing touch, at 2-2 Muir gets free 1 on 1 hits the post, then Raynes fluffs his lines 6 yards out and manages to clear the ball away from goal with his attempt and they bomb up the other end and we gift them the winner.

Sick of this bastard season already and this CURSED club.

2 more soft goals conceded once again today to take our winless run to 5 games and a huge 3 points out of a possible 15.

Apparently Fondop and McGlashan had good debuts but until that god awful midfield is sorted we’ll do nothing of note in this league. Absolutely none of those midfielders can grab a game by scruff of its neck and take control.

On a positive, Anthony Gerrard returned to the team today (no idea how he played) and hopefully his presence will improve us. Hopefully Denton and Spyrou aren’t far off now

Muir's not a finisher though and another signing who just hasn't worked.

We are CURSED but in the seasons we've been here sadly I've made my peace with that. Everyone we sign ends up shit, we always lose at home. We have the worst home record over the last 10 years than any other club in the top 5 tiers. It's crap but I'm just getting immune to it now.

Not a great game, but 3 points and Scott Quigley scored his 3rd goal in 3 games, already equalling Jacob Blyth's total for last season. Once we scored and figured out how to play against the wind there was only going to be one winner. Yoevil were really poor - if their players had stayed on the pitch after the final whistle they still wouldn't have scored...

What’s happening at Harrogate, good to have them moaning on radio and not us.
Thought Scott Brown & Stread were poor signings.

Don't know how we recovered from being destroyed in first half. 1-0 left us with an absolute mountain to climb.:bdick:

Well, where to begin with today...

With our defensive injuries an attack of Mandeville, Boden, McGlashan and Fondop was always going to trouble us - thankfully Loach pulled out two excellent saves (the final one genuinely being world-class - never seen a save as good as that live) to keep them at only two goals. Fondop looked very useful however 1) I'm well aware he always starts well at new clubs, and 2) he was up against the weakest defence we've fielded in a competitive game in years - so that doesn't mean much.

The most disappointing bit of today was our 'captain', Reynolds. He was a liability and an embarrassment. Should have been sent off for an awful tackle (somehow he wasn't even booked by an appalling referee), pulled out of position constantly, tormented by Fondop and worst of all displayed some appalling behaviour for a captain - berating other players for being out of position or easily beaten and then doing the exact same thing himself.

We got as good as we could've hoped for today as Chesterfield's game plan was made so simple by our squad shortcomings. A mid-table finish beckons yet again.

That Loach save was unbelievable.

Also, the width of Maidenhead's pitch is embarrassing.

Believe it or not Hartlepool fans but Ben Killip has actually managed to play 7 games in the football league (for us) and wasn’t too bad, looks like his form has sunk big time since then though.

Better team by a mile there but very wasteful in front of goal. Would’ve taken a point before though and just happy we now look to be improving game on game.
