Sunday

Notts Co v Wrexham

Sorry, I’m new here. Am I allowed to start this? Maybe I’ve just got carried away with our first ever NL win at Harrogate on Tuesday.

Anyway, Sunday game for us at home to Wrexham. Players still getting to know each other, but things seem a bit better after the afforementioned win and decent performance midweek. I imagine we’ll be unchanged for this, and continue to play 4-4-fucking-2, but Michael Doyle and Damien McCrory coming back from suspension gives us a bit more depth.

Decent start by Wrexham, but a couple banned for Sunday? Expecting a decent following too.

Think we can sneak this 2-1, Dennis and Boldewijn for us.

Yes you're allowed, an excellent thread. It's the only game that matters this weekend after all.

Think you're supposed to list all the games. Hope for your sake Chief Rocka is not the vengeful type.

First of all, rude :dis: at least stick the other fixtures down as well.

As for Pools Hignett reckons we've 10 players injured or carrying injuries, what are they doing in training, ECW style wrestling matches, we're four games in man.

Bromley is gonna be another tough test for us, we played very well Tuesday bar a mad 5 minutes, no idea on a team all things considered, as long as Gimi is upfront we'll be fine.

Woking at home for us. They did us home and away the other year and they've started really well. Tbh though if we want to win the league we have to be winning games like this. Already dropped 2 points at home

Looking forward to this one. I think we have a good chance to get a win here. Just need to be a bit less sloppy than we have been in the last two away games.

I suspect Ardley will tinker with the team. Looking forward to the match, would be happy with a point. We had some luck on Tuesday and I'd be surprised if we get back to back wins.

Hopefully Yeovil are travelling up to Barrow on the day...

We've already lost 3 games this season, so it feels like we can't afford another defeat. As many fans point out, we always do well in front of the cameras. I reckon we will win, but have no idea what Yeovil are like this season.

Going up the day before according to Sarll today. We are slowly beginning to click, no where near the finished article yet but getting there. Unfortunately we have 2 important players missing through injury in Collins and Murphy and suddenly our tiny squad is stretched again. We should be able to cope with Murphy out with Hippolyte and Duffus playing up front but at the back Dickinson will have to play in a back 3, which he hasn’t done much before.
Bring on TV and a 620 mile round trip, I can’t imagine we will bring many

Had some luck at the back on Tuesday but also created far more chances than we had in the previous games. Good to see Kristian Dennis looking sharp - will score goals if we keep him fit and interested. Boldewijn is also just starting to show some signs that he fancies it this year.

Would be happy enough with a draw. Hope he sticks with the same team as Tuesday.

To be honest Harrogate beat us 3-0 at Barrow last week - but apart from set pieces they showed very little. 2 of their 3 goals were scored by centre half William Smith who got sent off in their last match against Notts County so will be suspended.

Lawlor made a couple of errors on Tuesday, including a big one that forced him to make a red card challenge to prevent a goal. Chambers should be more than adequate to replace him.

McIntosh isn't an improvement on Bobby Grant, but without Grant we're forced to use Mark Harris more, which isn't a bad thing given he's head and shoulders above the rest of our team and probably almost everyone in this league.

Pearson looked tired on Tuesday so hopefully the extra day will do him good as I don't fancy our best defender turning out tired against Kristian Dennis. I think it'll be a close match, with us taking the lead but struggling to hold on in the later stages. I'll have faith that Chambers is an improvement in the defence and go for a 2-0 away win.

Hignett in the press saying that some of them don't want to play unless they're 100%. Wonder who he is talking about (have an idea...)

So we have a squad of 24 pros, 10 of them unavailable and some of them because they don't fancy it in case they break down. Happy days.

Talking of players ruling themselves out, before I forget, hats off to Romoney Critchlow-Noble our on loan Huddersfield left back who pulled out of the Maidenhead game last Saturday for 'personal reasons' and then made himself available to sit on the bench on Tuesday even though he knew his mam had been brutally murdered in Barbados. The story is on the BBC. Poor lad.

Let's hope Torquay's coach driver has more sense than Wrexham's
Unless they're travelling by boat!

Apparently we've sold 900 tickets so far for the Notts County match. Should be a good crowd.

Grant is a bigger miss than Lawlor (who has looked a bit shaky under the new system) as I'm not convinced by Mcintosh.

Looking at Notts so far this season we should be looking to win this, seems a good time to play them.

Eastleigh at home for us tomorrow.

Pleased with the start so far. We've looked sharp and competitive in every game so our title winning side seem capable of being able to handle the rigours of this division.

Hoping for another 3 points after an excellent performance against Barrow on Tuesday night.

We're too weak defensively for me to be confident about winning.

Another one I'll have to miss by way of work, I'll catch the last 25 at home so hopefully it isn't game over by that point.

900 is very impressive!

What system do you play?

I'm certainly not expecting a goal fest (cue 5-5 draw) against Chesterfield which means it's likely to be a very close game.

We've been playing some nice stuff at times but generally in harmless areas, and really do look like we will struggle for goals.

Probably 0-0 or 1-0 either way. Would certainly settle for a scrappy 1-0 win.
