I'm not going to celebrate staying up in this league but we were dead and buried in Feb, off the pitch we were going bust, on the pitch, down to 14 FT pros, we were managed by Craig Harrison. There was no hope and definitely going down.

Bates has come in, the players seem to respond to him. We've got two other coaches assisting him working for free. We're still complete pants and still by far the worst Pools team I've ever seen but you got to give him credit. Raj Singh has a tough decision to make. He's turned it around but the home defeats against Guiseley and Solihull leave doubts in my mind as well as tonight. We got lucky but that's the benefit of brotherhood membership, the result was never in doubt. I've known we'd win this for about a month.

We need a huge clear out, we've had a losing mentality for years, we have to finally rid the club of its CURSE. Budget will be reduced we know that, but we've seen that a successful side here will get good gates and bring in off field revenue so a canny decision about the manager and 5/6 new players with the right mentality and attitude and we can turn it around.

I did a job once where I saw Matthew Bates contract at Middlesbrough, his agent did not get paid his fee by them and showed the contract as proof. £22k a week basic at the time Boro had just been relegated to the Champ.

What's the crack with Marsh Brown? Seems like he was solely brought in to score against us and then binned off.

Macc being KMB'd out of it.

Wow, Woking really have dropped like a sack of shite haven’t they.

Weren’t they in play offs after about 15/20 games?

Only just seen how much trouble they’re in.

Oh my god come on Barra. I can taste the Grasmere gingerbread as I look out from the Old Man of Coniston.

Who are you going to eat this time? Ilford?
My money's on Hornchurch or Romford. Could also just say Thurrock too since they're "folding" after the season.

Welcome. I enjoyed the way we dominated the game just to show that we could have won if we’d wanted to, but magnanimously decided to show solidarity instead. Let us both enjoy the glory of Maidenhead and The Vision together again next year, Brother.

All jokes aside we won’t reform as anything, we don’t have the ambition amongst our fan base for such a venture.

Guisly down, Torquay set to join them. There IS a God. :bdick:

There you go B2TFU... karma is a bitch. And she's certainly been out in force this season. When Guiseley conceded to Barrow last night it wasn't a case of banging another nail in our coffin, it was a case of banging the FINAL nail in. (cryingbanana)

We fully deserved the win last night. We controlled the game apart from a fifteen minute spell in the first half and even then Davies did not have to make a save.

I must admit, if we do go up I won't miss tactics like those employed by Dover in the second half. The ball being rocket-launched into our box from virtually any position on the pitch. Fortunately, McNulty headed them all clear.

We're going to bottle this- I can feel it. The title is Tranmere's.
As much as I would love that, it would require you to fail to win twice against two midtable sides with nothing to play for (unlikely), and us to score maximum points in our remaining three matches (somewhat unlikely).

So, to do the sums...

Unlikely x somewhat unlikely = not a chance.

There, it's statistically proven... the title is yours!

If our last two games were on Boreham Wood's pitch I'd be a lot more confident of us getting the win; Durrell returning from injury right about now would be pretty useful!

Stranger things have happened. If we can , with a little help from Eastleigh, take it to the last day anything can happen. It`s football we are talking about here and if any fan base deserve to see their club have a change of fortune it`s us. If it does happen Prenton Park will be a total madhouse on a week on Saturday with quite possibly a 10k plus crowd

Good team Tranmere but the 2, 3 and 5 are examples of dirty cynical football at its worst & totally dominating a weak ref regularly manhandling him

Subbed off our most dangerous player (Jeffery) again which left us no chance of salvaging a draw
What's happened to Kane Richards Dover fans?

Originally thought he was sent off for moaning about time wasting, turns out it was for hitting the dugout.

He moaned & whinged every time a Pools player went near an O's player.
Think the ref & 4th official just had enough of him & kicking the dug out again was the final straw

Great win yesterday at Dover. All we can do is make Macclesfield win it and keep winning our games. If Macc fail to win on Saturday then would certainly set the final week up nicely.

As for Dover... Glad that they've suffered a major playoff setback. And as for the "antics"... As someone has already mentioned, pot calling the kettle black comes to mind.

The rumour is we won’t be here next season, Essex senior league beckons.
If you are going to fold, would you mind doing it before the last game of the season so that Tranmere's six points can come off their record? Alternatively, we would be willing for you to just forfeit our game and give us the win.

He isn't very good. 2x2 yard tap ins i think
on loan at telford hasn't scored there

I thought you might be able to get something out of him. His attitude stank with us. After he failed to meet up with the team for a game at Sincil Bank and turned up late only to take some stick from the Chester fans his reaction was to offer the said fans out. Total waste of space.

We were third after 15 games:
1 Macclesfield 15 29
2 Dover 15 28
3 Woking 15 28

8 points ahead of Tranmere at that time who had just been held to a 0-0 draw at home to Chester. Which Chester DEFINITELY didn't celebrate.
