What a great looking travel map for a division. I mean, if you ignore who the teams are, it looks like a belter. I did wonder where all the south-eastern teams were, cause there's a distinct lack of them up in League One!

Can imagine it's a great league for the southern conquistador, having easy trips in all directions south-east while seeing all features "the north" has to offer: well-built, industrial Pennine grandeur (us), the Lakes and salt marshes (Barrow), the true canny gritty north-east like (Hartlepool), exclaves of Surrey (Harrogant), generic Wales (Wrexham) etc etc.

Sutton and Boreham Wood are the highest finishing sides from last seasons National League that didn't get promoted. So not that strange really

If they take this competition seriously they ought to be strong favourites to win it. IMO the Scottish Championship is mid-table National League standard as would be the two Irish League tables while the Welsh and Northern Ireland teams are of a lower standard.

What’s the actual point of Sutton and Boreham Wood entering? If the games are on a Saturday it would mean yet another mid week league game. All to play some tin pot Scottish teams 500 miles away in their 2nd cup competition.

Is that Gateshead, Barrow and Dagenham on reduced budgets next season now then?

We are transitioning to full time as a plan, no news from the club on retained etc but we have moved a few on, leaving us with around eight to twelve still under contract my guess is discussions going on about investment etc.
So other than Moors, I think only Sutton and Maidenhead now Gatheshead with Halifax and Bromley who were but I think will be full time I time for next season. Dover and others have some sort of hybrid full time I have no idea about the NLS South clubs but I guess they are PT, the NLN pair are definately FT

"The decision to go part-time means Gateshead will cut their budget, which currently stands at around £650,000-800,000 per year."

Little old Gateshead. Given that those kinda budget are probably top 5 or top 7, they haven't done very well have they, bar that season where they lost to Grimsby in the PO's? Underachieved there.

The PT teams are generally called that because they offer 44(?) week contracts i.e. only to cover the playing season rather than 52 weeks.

I'm not sure there are any true PT sides i.e. train two evenings a week. Some will train days and evenings and have three days instead of two. Looking at last season, there were probably 5-7 PT sides.

As far as I'm aware (Feel free anyone to correct me) but the "Part Time" sides who offer these 44 week contracts for next season are:

Maidenhead
Gateshead
Braintree
Havant
Dover
Solihull
Sutton
AFC Fylde*

*Not sure if they're going full time for the coming season.

Halifax were part time last season, but are now looking to operate as a full time club.

Barrow I thought were being subsidised by their owner.

They beat Grimsby Town in the play-off semi-final and lost to Cambridge Utd in the final.

We had a budget around 600k last year and were relegation fodder...our owners seemed to think it was a mid table budget as well. So either our budget was spent very badly or teams are spending a lot more than we think.

Dover train 3 evenings a week during the season, so deffo still a part time team.
Part of the reason players bugger off to full time teams once they've had 1 good season

I thought B2TF would be all over this news :bdick::bdick:
Why, they should be part time. Get your money on them to begin their journey back to their true level next season. It's not right that they've been able to buy a few seasons in this league at the expense of more deserving clubs who can actually afford to be here.

We’re full time but the players only get paid during the season. God I’m confused now

Michael Collins left FC Halifax Town last night and retired as a player and this morning has been named as the new Bradford City manager.

I wish you were correct there but it was Cambridge that actually beat the cheating bastards in the final.
