I'll tell you what I love about Luke Shaw: He can't pass, he's unsure and uncomfortable on the ball, he makes poor decisions laboriously, he can't defend, he can't overlap, he can't beat a man, he can't cross. The only thing he does well that's beneficial is get injured.

Referee had a great game I thought. Arsenal worthy of the win. Good luck.

He's a very good defender for his age, but when he crosses that halfway line....... Which is what Southampton fans always said and whoever gets Clyne this summer will get a better full back.

Don't agree. Shaw is a very good defender considering his age, in 1 on 1 situations he is rarely beaten and he has excellent recovery pace if he is beaten. Going forward he is quite poor but that can be improved on. He'll be a top full back for years.

Shaw is actually one of strongest full-backs in the league defensively, so not sure where that opinion has come from. His attacking game will improve in time. Once he improves and begins to utilise his pace he can be brilliant.

I haven't seen anything positive from Shaw at all. Maybe I'm being harsh on on young lad that's been thrown in the deep end, but he has shown nothing so far.

Blind is a scary liability on the ball. Doesn't win many second balls and is only efficient in disrupting, mainly by fouling. I'd describe his passing as one of those toy cars you have to wind up to make them move, it takes time to get it moving and when it does it's erratic.

Square up to him and give him a forehead kiss by all means, but don't you dare pull his shirt.

Scraping the barrel :D

Just wondering why a referee can't be more consistent in his decision making. Di Maria was sent off quite rightly. That isn't much different to what Di Maria did is it? Both instances are examples of players crossing a line they shouldn't cross, displaying threatening behaviour to the referee.

Expected better temperament from a player of Di Maria's calibre and experience, what he did was just stupid.

Bitterly disappointed, but proud of the way we tried to push on with 10 men.

What do you expect, he was chief diver under Mourinho at Real in the Clasico. He and Pepe were thugs-in-chief there.

Well it's not like you had goal difference to worry about, of course you'd push on.

Nah, we only starting saying that when he left because we're so bitter about it...

"Van Gaal needs three years." - Roy Keane.

Perhaps Van Gaal meant the same in his now famous quote but it was lost in translation?

DiMaria was stupid but I don't think he had a bad game. He put in a lot of dangerous crosses and was one of the few United players to play risky forward passes. Everyone else was pretty tame. Honestly, I can see spuds or liverpool turning that lot over if they don't start playing at a higher tempo.

It's quite likely that the incident involving Hart was reviewed afterwards and the ref was told he can't allow players to do that. So now he doesn't.

To be fair if you're taking that line, I'm pretty sure I saw Fellaini and Rooney 'square up' to him last night. Dread to think what would have happened if he'd sent them off too.

On the whole, I enjoyed that. It was incredibly refreshing to see a ref have the balls to make the big (& correct) decisions at Old Trafford. Di Maria was stupid, he got the Januzaj dive spot on aswell.

Pleased Welbeck got the winner aswell. Man Utd's squad is still ridiculously unbalanced, and I still maintain that they put the whole rebuild process back a year by sacking DM so soon. I mean, it's not like they're doing any better this season is it?

Christ.
then in the second half the United we've witnessed all season showed.

Because LVG took Herrera off for Carrick for some mad reason. Herrera is one of the few United midfielders to try and be creative on the ball but LVG seems to hate it.

Him and Courtois are two of the three best in the world.

Who is the third?

De Gea is so good that his contract stipulates Victor Valdes has to walk around with him carrying his ballbag.

He doesn't fit with the 'lump it up to Fellaini and get the knock down' tactic that you now employ on a full time basis.
