Thought it'd be easier for midweek games to have the one thread? Call me a tart if you disagree

We make the short trip to Morecambe which represents a great chance to get our first 3 points on the board. Hopefully Facey comes back in to shore up the defence, and that Van Veen can continue his rich vein of form.

0-2 Cobblers

Apparantly all games in midweek are shown on ifollow in the UK, £10 a pop. Anyone know what the quality is like, do you get commentary?

Watched our checkatrade on it last year and was ok apart from the commentary being a few seconds off! Il watch our expected away defeat on there Tuesday.

Hopefully we can bounce back against Cambridge. Question marks about the make up of our midfield, with most wanting to see Law back, providing he is fully fit. Might even prefer Woodman to Moxey.
Can't imagine there will be many goals

I was going to make trip to Tranmere but if i can get it online for a tenner I probably not bother.

Flitcroft needs to make sure the players have got over that horrible last second goal.

Might sound a tad hasty but our game Vs Cheltenham already feels like a bit of a 6 pointer. A home win for us and we get off the mark and gives us some confidence going into a tough MTFC derby on Saturday. A loss and we're looking at the fixture list wondering when and where our first points will come from.

0-0 is it then.

Hoping to get to tranmere (it’s not far from manchester haha) but if I don’t make it I might try that I follow too, though my laptop is crap.

Id be surprised if we lost to tranmere, we’ve looked solid and I’d be expecting 4-6 points from tranmere and Macc away this week (which means we’ll lose both)

Away at Colchester on a Tuesday night as all the hallmarks for a shocking result.

Got my ticket for Crawley on Tuesday. Probably my closest game of the season.

Hopefully after our turnaround win on Saturday we can push on and pick up another 3 points.

Probably worth sticking us in an over 2.5 goals bet. Wouldn't back against another 3-2 either way.

Big test, they were excellent against us a week ago and Courtney Senior put in one of the best displays from an opposing player since relegation against us.

We have Carlisle... away!

Our away form in 2018 has been shocking with no wins, other than a few draws at Crewe, Wycombe and Grimsby that I can recall... the only positive is our last away win in December was actually Carlisle away!

Despite the doom and gloom after two poor defensive displays last week we've had a decent league start with 6 points from 9... was game 13 when we finally got to this amount last season!

For all the blasting off our defence last week we have kept clean sheets in five of the six league halves we've played which is a plus and put in a great defensive effort under heavy pressure yesterday in the second half which should add confidence.

Injury wise though is now a concern with key midfielder Manny Oyeleke who has been outstanding likely to be out and Luke Hannant also injured yesterday, Montano missed the game with injury yesterday and is a doubt and Tom Conlon has missed the four games so far who would be ideal to replace Manny. Crucially Tom Pope got through 90 minutes but may be rested after being injured last week and not training. (although imagine that theory will be a smokescreen)

If Manny is out we could get completely over run with two in the middle as we did yesterday once he went off so might be ideal to go three in the middle if Kay plays to cover that as Joyce can't do it all alone with Kay being less of an engine than Manny (we saw what Carlisle did to us when we tried two in the middle with our ancient midfield last season).

I would snap your hands off for a point with the injuries and our away form, 2 or 3 points from these next two away games would be a good platform to build on.

We have Milk and Beans in what should be a similarly difficult test for us. I might be going as it’s just over an hour away, depending on if I can be bothered. Danny Collins broke his arm yesterday but it shouldn’t be too much of an issue, as it just means one of the other 3 CBs who played yesterday will move inside from fullback and they be replaced by an actually fullback, probably Luke Hendrie. Other than that, I probably wouldn’t make any changes. The only one I’d consider is JJ Hooper who is currently our weak link. He certainly does a better job defensively than our other forwards though.

We're at home to Oldham. Interested to see how we get on after our comprehensive dismantling of Notts County on their own turf last friday night. Not sure what to make of Oldham currently. Looks like they've made a decent enough start if you discount the understandable loss to Derby in the league cup.

Can't make a home game though for a few months so my next game will be at sunny Cleggy in a couple of weeks when we play Grimsby.

Brings back memories of holidaying at the fitties in the 90's with mates when i lived not far away and boozing in the Wellow. Is that pub still there btw?

No idea what to expect at Newport on Tuesday. Nolan will have to make changes to the midfield and defence or we'll get walloped all over again.
I really don't want to contemplate defeat with Lincoln away on Saturday to follow.
There's a real chance of us ending up with one point from the first five games. Still, we're not there yet.

Boateng was poor yesterday and was played on the left, which just doesn’t suit him. I’d bench him and play Law there. Despite playing very well I’m wondering if Holmes may be rested and Lee Martin gets his first league start.

I certainly wouldn’t drop Moxey. Ok he was at fault for being weak in the buildup to the goal yesterday but Brown was also at fault too. Otherwise thought Moxey did fine.

Need a win ideally as MK will be a real tough one on Saturday. Cambridge seem to be a bit Jekyll and Hyde but got a good point at Northampton. I think the midfield battle will be key as Maris and Brown are both excellent for the Us so we neee to be on our A game.

1-0 City. Forte just before half time.

Away at Macclesfield which could well be Gary Johnson's last game in charge. If we lose, or even fail to score, then he's gone. If we win, then he has the Cambridge game.

I'll never be willing my team to lose, but a few Cheltenham fans may see it as a necessary evil if it gets rid of Johnson.

Grimsby at home. Not sure what to expect from them, but being at home and given our start to the season I'm expecting 3 points. Our defence is solid, but hoping we can finally show how effective we can be in the final third and win by a 2 or 3 goal margin too.

Funny, because a couple of years ago, a trip to Colchester used to mean a guaranteed 3 points, we won there about 5 times in a row. But now we can't seem to get a result there, got battered 4-0 and then 3-1. I'd be very happy with a point.

Home to Mansfield... Should be a good game this! Our central midfield is a slight issue regarding who partners Banks.

We've started the season well. If Jay Harris wasn't such a cretin we'd probably be on 7 points from 3 games. Our attack is looking very strong and to be honest our defence has been alright too (though some stupid goals conceded). The midweek signing of Mottley-Henry to have him and Smith on the wings is brilliant so it's about finding a replacement centre mid on loan now.

Predicting a 1-1 or 2-2 for tomorrow.

I'm feeling reasonably hopeful ahead of tomorrow considering we're still on 0 points. Cheltenham don't look like they're any better than us plus they can't score. Would be reassuring if we could win this.

Would take a draw at Newport to stabilise things after Friday’s shocker v Yeovil. Hewitt will probably return to centre midfield (unless we sign someone on loan) and if tootle isn’t fit to replace him at RB we might go 3 at the back. For whatever reasons Notts fans have a phobia of 1 up top but 4-2-3-1 is another option.
