Stockport County.
Difficult for United to go down to a silly penalty against a team like Liverpool who just put 10 men behind the ball and defended today. United needed to be more patient but broke through eventually.

Two good sides, will have some good battles over the next few years. United need to improve and they will of course under Mourinho. It's not a Mourinho side yet but he's only been there 6 months. Klopp is a good manger, Liverpool harried United in possession and as mentioned, defended deep and well.

Hopefully both can have some battles for silverware over the next few years because watching Chelsea, City and Arsenal go for titles is fucking mind numbing shite as nobody really gives a fuck about them.

Overall, I think we did very well to contain a full strength United team with our semi-reserves team. We essentially made the team with players like Pogba, Mkhi, Martial and Zlatan play hoofball. 1-1 was probably a fair result but United were indeed lucky as many have already said. Offside + ball hitting the bar and going in...you can't get luckier than that! The ref also made sure United players got away with as many fouls as possible.

Only winners were Chelsea. Hand them the title.

The only winners today were Everton, actually.

From what I saw of the game and I only watched it because the Missus was watching the darts. First off Liverpool's away shirt. That'd turn any opposition player's stomach. Not to mention in the floodlights, it reminded me of that Luminous paint in that Only Fools and Horses episode.
Ibrahimovic and Pogba were both clean through within a minute or so of each other and missed at 0-0. Thought the much maligned Mignolet had a good game. Can't argue with the penalty but if it was to be a Liverpool win, I was hoping at the time that they'd win 2-0 or 2-1 as nobody likes to win by a penalty in such games.
Didn't see the Rooney incident but as alluded to above, thought Firminho was lucky to stay on as, regardless of handbags or not, he did strike the Utd player with his hands and that, by the letter of the law should be a red card.
Thought Liverpool marshalled Utd well and yes I know it's not a Fergie side, but something about Fergie sides was that they never panicked. They were measured and precise in everything they did even in the 90th minute if they were losing.
Recent Utd sides don't have that assuredness about them. I thought 1-1 was about fair.
I am a big admirer of Coutinho, so was glad he is back from injury. He is a top quality player who'd grace any team in the world . I just hope he has a niggle when we play them. Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal fans would have taken this result at 4pm last night I am sure.

(Former) Borussia Dortmund replica shirts, maybe they were granted these last year after their great Europa League Quarterfinal victory :D
When the floodlights are going off you would only see the Reds players....and Pogba with his ridiculous yellow(?) mark in his hairs.

but Herrera is a bad actor, isn't he? Holding his face as if he was punched but Firminho pushed the body and not his face. This is the shit nobody wants to see.

Not condoning that Dirk but it occurs on a weekly basis....two players jump for a ball, hand/arm 'brushes' against the opponent's head or face and they are down as if Tyson had hooked them.....pussies the lot of them.

Just saw Herrera's foul near the end when Liverpool were breaking.

I thought that was meant to be a red card this season? It's one rule for Arsenal, and it's another rule for everyone else!!

Agree. Hate it when players feign injury or roll around like they have been shot. Just suggesting he was lucky not to be sent off as it is in the remit of the referee to do so if a player raises hands to another player.

Liverpool were one of the worst sides I've seen us play this year. I think the styles of both teams clashed to the detriment of everyone watching.

The ref got nearly everything wrong, apart from the penalty. He gave too much United's way to try to make ammends for a justified pen.

Rooney proved he's finished in the big time. He's the David N'Gog of the team now.

I thought nobody apart from Fellaini and De Gea came out of yesterday with any credit for us. Fellaini because he didn't play most of the game and was decent when he came on, De Gea for not doing anything wrong.

So United have had 7 offside goals given this season (surely a record).

Last time we had an offside goal given was Benteke's against Bournemouth, august 2015.*

"It evens itself out."

* This may or may not be accurate but I can't think of one since in the league.
