Dagenham and Brentford drew 6-6 if I recall about 3 years ago in the league cup.

Burton 6-5 Cheltenham in 2010.

Bury 5-4 Gillingham 2010

Personally think Norwich 1-7 Colchester is the most remarkable result of the new millennium

Gills 10-0 v Chesterfield has already been mentioned.
But also the previous weekend we'd beaten Southend 8-1 !!
Plenty of mutterings after that game that "you won't see that many goals in a game for a long time" :)

And hard to imagine that less than 3 months later we'd lose 0-6 at Aldershot and our best ever manager was sacked...

Also remember us beating Scunthorpe 7-2 early 70's. And a 5-3 in the cup v Brentford when we were 1-3 down with 10 minutes left. Following year Brentford beat us 5-2 at theirs. Oh how we laughed...

Stockport County 2 v 7 Rochdale was unexpected, and most amusing.

On the other side of the coin was our sequence of results at Brisbane Road in the mid-eighties, although the 8-0, 5-0, 3-0 sequence showed we were at least improving from deplorable to mediocre...:)

Also this season I think there was 8-2 for Luton vs Yeovil and Luton vs Stevenage

Some of ours that spring to mind are

Crewe 1 Rotherham 8
Burnley 2 Rotherham 6
Wolves 6 Rotherham 4 (4-4 at 89 mins!)

There was also the time we beat Chelsea 10-1 over two games (6-0 home, 4-1 away)

I also remember listening to Gillingham thrash Chezzie 10-0 on the radio, and watching Man City beat Huddersfield 10-1 on the telly

Oxford 5 - 5 Portsmouth. November 3rd 1992.

We were 3-0 down to Pompey, then 4-1 and then 5-2 down with 10 mins or so to go. We got one back but were still 5-3 down going into injury time. We then scored 2 in 60 seconds through a Jim Magilton penalty and a Chris Allen header with the last touch of the game.

There were some superb players in that game as well as those mentioned above such as John Durnin, Joey Beauchamp, Guy Whittingham and Mark Chamberlain.

I was at that game, damn near killed me.

Celebrated so hard when we pulled it back to 3-3 in the space of a minute from 3-1 down, only for you lot to instantly make it 4-3. We then made it 4-4 in pretty short order but I was too fucked from our third goal to do more than clap weakly. And we still managed to fuck it up.
Tbf Lowe's winner that day was a beaut. Not a good day for Belford between the sticks for us.

Burnley's defence that season was awful, they had a fair few bizzare scorelines.

Yes - noticed that but still finish mid-table I think.

Far cry from how they perform now!

I think we only scored about 20 away goals in the season talked about - 7 coming at Turf Moor (Michael Chorpa's career highlight I think)

Just a couple of weeks after your cup quarter final victory over them as I recall. Considering you'd had a few lean years, the Vialli farce and subsequent financial problems that must have been a great day seeing Vicarage Road rocking like that.

It was just before my time but we did have an odd spell of high scoring results against Huddersfield Town at Gigg Lane in the late 1980s/early 90s. I think they won 6-0 at Gigg Lane, the following season we tonked them 6-0 then the season after we chucked away a 4-0 lead to draw 4-4.

A crazy game in our first season in the Championship. I remember that Jordan Rhodes scored his first goals for us in this match and Nuno Gomes (yes, he did play for us for a very short spell) banged one in too.

When we thought we'd walk that league and almost went down for the second year in a row; at least we started off well that time.

Cobblers v Bournemouth 1976. 6-0 up at half time, I was at the Spion Kop (nil) end expecting more of the same second half, final score 6-0... :ffs:
