Yep he will, needs to bag a few more before Kane cheats his way to close the gap.

Mane is out though I believe so Ings will come in. Would like to see the monster Milner rested, out of all our three fit midfielders, he's the one needing rested the most imo. Put Trent in his place, Clyne at RB and Moreno (yes Moreno) at LB. Should be enough to wallop Stoke, though playing in the middle of the night yet again doesn't help things.

3- 0 Liverpool.

Salad, Firmbooty and The Dyke all start. The trio will likely be playing their last game for me in the fantasy football. Such an emotional day!

Wonder if TTA is playing midfield or Liverpool are playing a back 3 with him n Moreno as wingbacks.

We’ve switched back and forth already.

Salah missed when through on goal from the halfway line

Poor first half from us. Unusual miss early in the half for Salah, and since then we've offered fuck all threat. Lots for Klopp to talk about in the break, we better come out offering more because just a point here would really give Chelsea hope.

So Salah gets his armed pulled in the penalty area and the ref plays the advantage and lets it go. Well we would've rather have had the pen tbh. Odd situation

If Milner's handball was a pen then we definitely should've had one there.

Shit game and we've given Chelsea some real hope now. Everyone were poor.

Couple of shit decisions, we should clearly have had a penalty. But like the West Brom game we can't blame anyone but ourselves for this result, we were shit. We should have had top 4 wrapped up now but that's 4 points dropped, against two teams we should be rolling over.

Chelsea game now far bigger than it should have been. Lose that and we miss out on CL next season if you ask me, short of winning the competition this time around.

Bollocks, if we lose at Chelsea (where we've won the last two seasons) we'd still have Brighton at home, and win that we get top 4 again.

Liverpool can lose 3 and draw 1 of their remaining matches this season and still guarantee CL footy next year. Stop shitting it.

Beat Brighton at home or not lose at Chelsea and we'll get top four. But we've made hard work of it.

Indeed. Its these bastard middle of the night half 12 matches. We played any of these in the afternoon or night, we'd have won all three games.

How can we lose 3 and draw 1 of 2 remaining games?

My point is that get beaten by Chelsea and Brighton on the last day will be a butt clencher. I can see us struggling. They're a better side than both West Brom and Stoke so let's not pretend the possibility is bollocks.

I'm fucking annoyed we have put ourselves in this position.

That's grasping at straws.

Truth is our squad isn't deep enough to compete on two fronts in april and it shows. We leave one of our front three out of the starting lineup and the drop in quality is huge. Ings isn't good enough to play a single minute for us (but I bet you think he'll come good and be a solid backup player).

We have an incredible starting eleven, the best in a decade, but we only really have ok cover in midfield. But our midfielders are all so injury prone that we get fucked there as well over the course of a season.

We need to bulk up the squad, and this won't happen next season.

Yep we will do, and we will be better equipped next term. Its coming to the end of the season and we are being stretched a fair bit; we were handling PL and CL very well earlier in the competitions.

A bit of work to do yet, but I'm not overly concerned we won't get the job done for top four.

There's a lot that needs to come together though.

First, Chelsea need to win 3/3 games outside of when we play each other. This is far from a given, I wouldn't be surprised to see them drop points later today.

Then they need to beat us at Stamford Bridge, and provided we go full strength which we will injuries permitting, I'd argue we're slight favorites if anything, with draw being the most likely result.

Finally, we need to not beat Brighton at home off the back of a week's rest. This, too, is very unlikely. Yes, you drop points over the course of a season to teams like Brighton and they're no mugs. But it'll be a cup final for us and pointless for them. Like Middlesbrough last season, the significantly most likely result is us by a big margin.

And even if all this somehow happens, we still stand a good chance of qualifying through the Champion's league. It's not done, but it's still very unlikely that we don't play in the CL next season.

But like you said at the other place, we are on to win the CL, so we qualify again through winning that if it happens. Thanks for your support.

How do you only have 2 games left of the season? Coulda swore you were in a CL semi final...

Lose your league games, lose to Roma by 2 or less, draw the final, take it on pens, Bobs your creepy uncle...

We're discussing the league and finishing top 4, I wasn't referring to the CL.

We are? I believe I made a perfectly valid statement with regards to Liverpools chances at qualification for the CL which is all a top 4 finish is worth. If the discussion is about top 4 then it's about the CL. And your chances of qualifying for it are not limited to your next two league games. Hence the post.

The team that always scores and always concedes confounds the experts with a 0-0 draw.

I love football.

As a side note, it's pleasant to see Liverpool looking back down the table at Chelsea rather than up at United and our second spot.
