What has happened to him? He needs testing for PEDs.

Class player. Just underachieved sadly. Wilder is getting the best out of him. Love Sheffield united me. Clarke, Sharp, Duffy and Lundstram have all played for us

Hi Lance, Remember when you said Wolves and Cardiff would finish in the bottom 2?

Is Leon Clarke the Diego Costa of the Championship ha ha.
Us Blades all laugh at just how well he’s playing these days. Wilder must be a miracle worker.

He’s always had the ability but over many years he plays like he can’t be arsed, he’s prone to sulking and wasted his talent. It’s as though he now knows he’s in the twilight of his career so he’s finally giving 100% to see where it takes him.

However credit to him he’s been fantastic a lately, leading the line winning headers, some clever touches and lay offs but more importantly he’s working so hard, running around like a man possessed. He scored 4 today but he also missed 3 fairly easy chances (2 were good saves).

Lance, Mark Duffy is some player, real class with bags of talent and a clever brain, it’s a total mystery how he’s been a lower league journeymen most of his career.

Leon could have had seven today, the Dull keeper was on top form, and Leon today was a bit, profligate. WTF was that tap of a pass back to the keeper in the second half !. Leon’s booking was stupid as well.

Good to see Leon doing well. We've all mocked him.Obviously has talent and Wilder is getting the best out of him. Got to love a 12 minute hat-trick.

I'm guessing it takes more than that to get any Leeds fan to give any kind of credit.

He's playing absolutely superb. The worst part of his game is actually his finishing if he was good at that he'd be on about 15 goals by now. Wilder reckons it' the best reception he' seen for a player ever at bramall lane when he went off yday.

A lot of other Wolves fans won't have it, but he was okay for us when we got him in the promotion season, in particular played well at Bramall lane for us, should have scored but was a big strong focal point, and allowed Dicko to be rested and subbed out.

His goals tally is bizarre as he scored half his goals in that one game and got a brace against Wolves, so have only scored 2 goals in his other 10+ games

His other two came against us, so he's scored in just three games.

Also got a double against us, so 8 in 3 games and none in all the others.
Had a few good moments for us (Burnley away?) but they were very few and far between.
Couldn't believe we were bad enough to let him score twice, let alone 4 in just 1 half.

He works like a horse as well, runs his knackers off for the team and chases lost causes, only to turn them into something. He’s got a languid style which makes him look like slick and relaxed and lays off some great balls. As I mentioned earlier his passing was off in the first half, coincidentally as were most of the other reliable types, Duffy, Fleck, Coutts, Basham. One short pass led to his booking as he tried to win the ball back

Good news is, opponents will be all over him after this which should leave Sharpe to score a few.

Wilder doesn’t seem to want to start with Brookes, but brings him on with 20 minutes left to torture defences, almost like gloating. Cruel bastard is Wilder :2thumb:

Brooks will probably be off in January with uncle Kevin pocketing the change.

Can’t see a PL club offering 20 million plus for him and even then we’d turn it down unless we have other options to bring other players in to improve the squad.

Brooks is signed up until 2022 and is happy, so no pressure to sell.
A big factor is our league position, whilst we’re in with a good chance of promotion with rewards of 150 million a season in the PL then there’s no logic to risk losing that for a measely 20 million.

A friend of a friend with good sources at SU says he won’t be sold at any price this season whilst we’re in and around top 6.

£20m for a lad that can't get in ahead of Clayton Donaldson, Billy Sharp or Leon Clarke mind....

Exactly....so he’s not going to be sold.

However in his short appearances you can see he has more talent than Donaldson, Sharp and Clarke put together. Even those 3 players admit it themselves. But talent means nothing, it’s how you use it and end product. Brooks has hardly started any matches in league football so can’t be worth much but he has fantastic potential and it’s tricky to put a valuation on someone that could be the next Ryan Giggs.

Put it this way Brooks is on a totally different class level to our other former youngster from the Academy Dominic Calvert-Lewin and he’s currently playing in the PL with Everton.

But it’s only potential.

Heard the four year deal is to maximise the transfer fee, Liverpool sniffing with £10m. You'll sell.

I’ll bet you £20 to charity that we won’t sell for anything near 10 million
And you could say I know that for a fact, so save this post for later to prove me wrong.

As I said I doubt Liverpool would increase their bid to 20 million for someone who has hardly started a single match in league football.

How has David Brooks proved he is worth anything close to 20m?

20M quid is pushing it a bit, you are Sheffield United, a club who notoriously sells its best youth products and better players. What gives you the impression it's going to change now?

It won' change. He will be sold if the right offer/club come in its as simple as that, how can we stop it happening. If we sell him I'd guess it will be like the kyle walker deal where he remains on loan for the season.
