I see Jack Lesters name linked with the Chesterfield job. Any truth in this or just lazy bookies?

Only advise il give them is don't taint a legendary player... we've done that too often! Foyle, Glover... Grew to a degree.

As for us interesting article with Adams tonight, he says he'd help the club but would have to think long and hard about managing it but at no point says he won't or wouldn't come back. Suggestion tonight on forums is he may be installed on an interim basis this week.

Other than that the Billy Davies rumour seems to be gathering a bit of pace.

Not sure about the Adams thing. I can see it happening, but the shorter term the better. Could we please have a long term plan for once?

Going to take time to get the right appointment if we do it properly so Adams taking charge at Yeovil over Morgan and Kelly would be crucial to buy us that time. Morgan and Kelly would offer the same problems as Brown.

He was there on Saturday sat next to Rob Page.

It appeals for obvious reasons and he seems to have done a good job coaching at Forest.

It's never going to be a good time if we've just sacked someone so it might as well be now.

I heard (but never saw it with my own eyes) that Paddy Power were offering 66/1 on Ugo Ehiogu getting the Birmingham job.

Now THAT is lazy bookies.

Micky Adams set to be offered the role of Director of Football.

Talk this morning on twitter that Ainsworth is priority to try and get fans back onside being a legend. Would cost a bit in compo and wages to tempt him from Wycombe though surely?

The experienced head accessing the squad isn't being announced, Steve McLaren seems to be being mentioned a lot though.

Less than 2 years left on his contract so come on if you can afford it do it please make us an offer i'd love to see him gone.

I can't see it being Ainsworth. I'm not convinced he would be a good fit in the current set up, and there are cheaper options that will appeal more to our owner.

If Adams is DOF then surely suggests an experienced manager isn't the route we will take, someone like Askey with MA as DOF would make sense?

Yes, absolutely. I can see that working, and the compensation would be much less than Ainsworth's.

Fabrizio Ravenelli the latest linked to the job. Lester into odds on fav though, really hope it isn't him, the club is a shambles and I'd hate for it to not work out for him. The blokes my absolute idol and I don't want to jeopardise that with him working under Dave Allen and his puppet Ashley Carson

Maybe if Jack Lester is appointed manager it may bring OneDecentLester back posting, I remember him bullishly saying how impressed he was with this team and manager and how well Chesterfield were gonna do this season but then strangely he hasn't been seen since..........

Smurf has said he won't approach anybody about becoming manager, but will wait and see who applies and go from there.

I think Lester would be an absolute moron to go and work under DA/Carson.

Reports today that Micky Adams has been offered and held talks for the role of Director of Football. He wont be interfering with team selections etc. however and would be doing it alongside his business venture.

It would be a daft move for both Chesterfield and Lester for that to happen.

Given where the club is both on and off the field, you've got to get this right, and he doesn't appear to be the option (I mean who knows, if Nolan can do it!?). Billy Dearden came back for a 2nd time and it didn't work and nor did it for the much loved Adam Murray here.

Mike Newell was coaching our first team last season - he disappeared for a while then he was seen at a game on crutches. Apparently he was pissed one night and fell down the stairs and broke his leg. He hasn't been seen this season and there is a new coach doing the warm ups etc

I see Shaun Derry is being linked to the Chesterfield vacant managerial position again. He's simply one of the best managers in L2, in fact I'd say he's definitely in the top 3, and will be a real statement of intent from Chesterfield if they manage to prise him away from us. He's that good believe me.

Because most of our squad is Connie South/North standard at best. The fact that we've already won 4 games can only be attributed to the managerial genius of Derry and his assistants.
