Both are more authentic clubs than FGR too.

Nearly 130 years of history, all of it in Forest Green, all the way from The Stroud and District League to the Football League. Never reformed. We're as authentic as any club in existence.

Yeah but the Stroud and District league only included yourselves and Stroud. It's like the Scilly Isles league.

Whey, it's the resident FGR stalker from Bury.

I don't know much about Bury, apart from being the smallest Manchester overspill club, great claim to fame.

FGR have far more potential to be a worthwhile club for their area than Bury.

Macclesfield are a massive club. Could never dream of such status in Macclesfield.

Got all the Forest Green fans there in one.

If Bury are Manchester overspill, what does that make FGR? Stroud overspill?

A big difference between vale and lincoln when tom pope is not available for vale is they have green rhead akinde either starting or coming on as sub with bags of league goals we have ricky miller 2 league goals idris kanu and scott quigley 0 league goals. Thats before you get to how poor the defence is.

That’s the annoyance, we had enough chances last night to score a couple but just haven’t got that clinical side, most shots on target in the division I believe so far!

I reckon it's about time the FL takes a stand with those clubs that do not take this cup seriously and start to impose fines/deduct points. I know some clubs prefer to go out in the first round, but why do they have to make it so bleedin' obvious? Off the top of my head I can think of five clubs that did exactly that last night - Port Vale, the U's, Accy, Grimsby and Swindon.

By all means, do not attempt to win the match if that's what you want but at least make it slightly less obvious eh?
Seriously mucker we had our first team out last night.

Take it you looked through their lineup, difficult to believe I know but that is in fact their FIRST team and not a load of reserve nobodies.

Ours was fairly strong, had three key men missing in our right back, main hit man and central midfielder out, the side that finished was pretty weak once we through on Kanu and Vassell for their first appearances At this level and Quigley who’s another waste of a wage. Not that it excuses the complete lack of application. Aspin still hasn’t spoken to the media yet!

I'm not too fussed about going out to a team from a higher division but to get a 75th minute sub sent off for a second bookable offence, preventing the keeper from taking as kick, is stupid on so many levels.

The biggest must be why prevent the keeper from kicking? We were losing and chasing the game. Stand next to him so he can't roll the ball on the floor but don't get in the way. Obviously out for one game but I'd ban him for more just for being so dumb.

Not really a war of words just a few exchanges between a strange stalker and some FGR fans.
Not sure how posting on a league cup thread on a football forum is stalking, but each to their own.

You need to do more research. It was an almost full strength Vale side. We made plenty of chances, but two late goals made it look worse than it was. Fair play to Lincoln who have spent heavily, but spent well. Us on the other hand..............

It was a pretty full strength Cambridge side too - only O’Neil and Osadebe would certainly not have been picked in a first team but the others all started v Notts County. We were just totally shite.

I'm starting to think that Vanni was on the wind up here judging by the above two post and my own earlier.

I only post here to pursue our MASSIVE rivalry with Bury. They've spent years trying to get relegated to our level, just look at all their failed applications to the Stroud and District League in the 1930s.

We had 8 of our starting X1 from the last league game !!
Lincoln actually treated the competition with a lot more disdain than us by dropping far more and yet still hammered us 4-0 so not sure your argument stands up at all.

Don't know the Accy stats and i know only 2 games played but their priority is survival in League one so i'm sure Coleman won't be arsed, one less game for yellow cards etc.

Unless you get an Everton or Newcastle maybe before the seeded clubs who are in Europe have a bye to the semi finals then the competition is dying on it's feet.

That's why Saturday has such an edge to it.

We must both be small clubs as our fans haven't been banned from going to Chorley...yet!

Accy didn't throw the match - played a pretty strong side - just got battered

Bury and FG both have decent fans on here, in general....

Clubs going on about their history is so tiring though, history is no use to anyone if you're crap now

I like football history in general, user name is the pub that used to be our HQ, but you're right banging on about it in the wrong way gets dull.
