Defence looks pretty strong considering the budget we're working with. Keeper will probably be a youngster on loan like O'Hara last season.

Think we're just planning on playing 6 defenders with one designated as rush goalie; probably rotate it round but Welch-Hayes would be my choice considering his handling in the area last season.

We've signed Theo Vassell. Wonderful.

No keepers yet. Could be interesting when we play Carlisle and their plethora of front men.
His best game for us was his last game at Bury, played really well at right back.
In general at left back he was pretty average to piss poor.
Must admit his performance at Bury was excellent but too late to save his skin at Vale .

We’ve now got some striker who has scored about 2 goals in 100 games in non league.

We really are in a desperate state. No strikers whatsoever, still trialling low quality ones.

I honestly think we might end up relegated with a record low amount of points. The squad is that weak and in particular once hope is sold I can’t see where any goals will come from to even make a relegation battle into an actual battle.
Kwame Thomas, who played 17 games for Solihull without scoring last season, and so was loaned to Kidderminster where he played five times without scoring, and has already had a trial at Port Vale who rejected him because they have Richie Bennett.

Seemed ok but wasn't a priority position for us since getting Cullen in, not officially announced his trial is over but he hasnt been in the last two friendlies so assume it is!

Been away on me hols. I made it rain in Malta! Things have been busy down in Crawley. Here's what I can remember.

Goalkeeper Michael Luyambula signs in a season long loan from Birmingham. They've given him a new contract so they must rate him. Glenn Morris was our player of the season so I'm not sure how much he will play.

Nathan Fergusson signs from Dulwich Hamlet. Central midfield. We are definitely full up there.

Jordan Tunnicliffe central defender who was at Fylde last season. Turned down a contract offer from them to come to us on a two year deal. A top of the conference defender last season trying to make the step up. That means we have three proper centre defenders.

Ricky German is on trial at Hendon, as is Ibrahim Meite. That's two of our host of forwards we are, at least, trying to move on.

Another of our forwards Reece Grego-Cox signs a contract extension. A busy bee forward who spent most of last season on the bench.

Coach Nathan Rooney has left the club. He wanted to be closer to his family in the north...expect him to join Melbourne or some such. Incoming is part time goalkeeping coach Dean Lightwood and full time coach Edu Rubio who has left MK Dons under 23s and has a uefa pro licence to his name.

If I've forgotten anyone I apologize.

Casey

Ashley Nadesan is out for the first 8 weeks of the season in case that escaped your attention.

Technically not a signing, but all arrivals at the club must be celebrated. Our academy have been presented with not one, but THREE whiteboards like the one shown.

According to Academy chief David Wilkes, “the three magnetic boards allow the lads to visualise formations and tactics in a way they weren’t able to before, which gives them a much better understanding of what they’re being asked to do.”

The potential for this to take our game to the next level cannot be understated!

Spoke to Kwame last week when I was doing some work at Vale. Drives a nice motor considering his career has barely hit the heights.
Must be horrible trying get a club to take a punt.
I notice our ex donkey centre half ( and Swindon ) Chris Robertson is on trial at the mighty Boston

Our club is a disgrace.

I was down there today and i stood and looked at the place and thought to myself despite the stadium nearly falling apart the club is a lot bigger than it acts. The way it operates, the way it promotes its self, the vision it has, you’d think it was a club about the size of Blyth Spartans. That tactics board thing just sums them up.

The recruitment this summer has been nothing short of disgraceful. David Holdsworth should hang his head in shame.

2 weeks until the season starts, 12 outfield players we have as things stand, TWELVE.
And we’re trialling players that are proven shit at the level below. Fucking embarrassing.

The fans don’t deserve the season they are about to get, but the people running the club absolutely 100% deserve it, and the hatred, abuse and criticism that they’ll receive for it.

The tactics board thing was a bit tongue in cheek as the camera has also been donated and the tactics boards were probably just bought with the money left over after buying the camera.

I trust that every single one of you fine folk has staked huge amounts of dosh on Carlisle going down. Free money is what it is.

Do the bookies wait 'til the season is over before they start honouring our bets? What happens if, say for example, Carlisle are trailing the side in 22nd by some 36 points come the Xmas hols?

16/1. Got them doubled up with Newcastle at 9/4.

Paddy Power have said they'll pay out if we lose to Fleetwood in our next friendly on Saturday.

Paddy himself has said:

'Looking back, it was a mistake to even take bets on Carlisle to get relegated. It's like that time we offered odds on whether Harry and Megan's baby would be human or lizard. It's silly, and a lot of people made some money off us on that one too, but it's great publicity and most of those who won small amounts rolled it forward to another bet and that's what we're all about at Paddy Power, the punters love it, and though I'm obligated to say 'when the fun stops, stop' it's my job to make sure the fun never stops. In fact we're thinking of offering special odds to holders of winning OR losing coupons on the Carlisle relegation thing on how many ex-Bury players will be in Plymouth's opening day line up, we'll give you a hundred to one if you go for all eleven and did you see that kit we designed for Huddersfield? We're quality bants we are, how about a little flutter on whether we can trick Dale Vince into eating a pork pie before the end of the season?'
