We still need to score more but we're miles better than we were last season so I'm more confident. We're giving everyone a game now instead of rolling over as soon as it kicks off. All because Jim has finally realised that we had to change from playing 1 upfront every week. Once we get through this injury crisis that we have at the minute (8 or 9 first teamers out) I think we'll have enough in us to stay up.

Morecambe played well at Gigg Lane and were unlucky not to get a point. I reckon they will be fine.

Debate who's going down all you want, but surely it's worth getting relegated just to become a member of the Brotherhood?

Certain clubs are exempt from this joining esteemed organisation

We could be the mid table team that could be dragged into the relegation mire, at times we have played well , trouble is we do not have a striker brimming with confidence to score goals .
Our top scorer is Michael Doughty, but he seems to be going from injury to injury, and when he has played seems to have lost the confidence that he had at the begining of the season.
At the moment the playoffs are only 7 points away, but the bottom 2 , only 10 points away. Could be a very interesting season!

We thought about checking out for a while but it's a big scary world in mid-table and we don't like it, so we're settling back in for the long haul.

On a serious note, we are fucking shite.

5 points and - 12 goal difference in our first 10 games
17 points and +4 gd in our second 10 games.
Keep this up and I might believe 12th place is a realistic target.

Stop it Macclesfield that's enough now. I thought we would have 1 place to battle not 2!

Odds on Sol Campbell actually having the greatest mind in football?

Checking in... last night against Crewe we were utter, utter garbage. Off the field in chaos, on the field in chaos, doesn't look good :(

Nothing would please me more than seeing Swindon get relegated ~~~ horrible club.

So our only decent outlet Enzio Boldweijn has now been ruled out for 3 months after an operation on his knee today.
This could actually be our year.

Huge blow that as he looked your only real threat. Think I stated in here after that game that if he got injured for a long period it could be terminal for County.

It's looking increasingly likely that it's going to be a much more open relegation battle this season, unlike quite a few recent seasons when only 3 or 4 sides at the most looked like genuine relegation contenders.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - it's unwise to rule out anybody at this stage. Loads of L2 fans were saying Macc didn't stand a chance and that they were on for a record low points total and the like. A couple of one nil wins and now they're only 4 pts behind Cheltenham.

Bodweijn may be one of County's better players but surely there is enough quality in that squad for Ardley to change things around. I know I'm stating the obvious but on paper at least, their squad is much stronger than the likes of us, Cheltenham, Morecambe , Yeovil and the other strugglers. I think they'll be fine in the end.

Far too many sides do seem to me to be much of a muchness, and the one thing they've got in common is a poor back line and a lack of a decent finisher.

If Campbell can drill the defence and having Durrell back to create a ruck of chances I think we'll start to catch up very soon.

Unpopular opinion but the Boldewijn thing might be a bit of a blessing in disguise, for all his talented forward play he offers hardly anything defensively, and it’s a weak midfield leaving the defence (and especially full backs with crosses coming into the box) that has been one of the big problems this season. Need Hemmings and Stead back soon though.

As long as Campbell avoids pissing off the players then hopefully we will make a decent fight of it. If we can use the 'new manager boost' and close the gap to 22nd to just a point or two by the new year then all we have to do is finish the season in better form than two of our fellow relegation scrappers and we'll survive. Happy days, well done big Sol.

Stead and Hemmings will be back in for Saturday week, hopefully we don't risk them against Sunderland unless it's a cameo role at the end.

We’re one who will be constantly treading this thread. We can be excellent but that only happens rarely. However, we’ve started to score goals now and we’ve (hopefully) had our bad spell already. Sort out the away form and it’s midtable all the way.

There isn’t. I just object to random turds chirping up from footballs nether regions.
He’s always been a bit strange has Railway Blue, also has a random dislike of Grimsby for no apparent reason too, proper oddbod.

We haven’t even played them for donkey’s years. Surely he can’t still be peeved about us beating them for the Div 4 title in 1986.

CHIMING IN FROM FOOTBALL'S NETHER REGIONS...

I don't mind Swindon. Especially with their speed and efficiency in concluding a dodgy pact that saw us both reach the L1 play offs, at the expense of Port Vale. Here's some actual shots from the day:

. . . and how well we've both done since!

Apart from the usual local suspects, I can't really say there's a club I particularly dislike.

Yep.

Just waiting for the inevitable, which is the customary Port Vale fan laughing at us being in non league now

Still grates sections of our support to this day!

My opinion was that it was our own fault:

3-0 Lead v Swindon blown... Won that we'd have done it.

5-2 at home to Hartlepool in the snow.... own fault.

Oddly I think a twist of fate saw us draw a couple of years later with Hartlepool to send them down which Vale fans enjoyed watching Jeff on Soccer Saturday fall to pieces as Micky Cummins fired a late goal home.
