Pretty even game at Dave tonight. Chelts weak up front but surprised GJ subbed Wright and Asa at ht and then put Pell up top. Good 3 points but result could have gone either way. Dreadful weather and pitch held up well. Would've been abandoned last season.
Two poor teams I thought, we started the better and should have had a couple before you scored with your only real chance. Second half was one of the worst I have ever seen, absolutely no quality at all. Agree that Wright and Eisa shouldn't have come off, Pell just isn't a striker and Gordon who also went on did fuck all.

Worrying times, if we play like we did second half we'll be going down no doubt, if we play like first half we'll be ok as long as our forwards can remember where the goal is.

Bad luck and commiserations to the lad. Didn't even see if there was a tackle to cause it - just saw him hobbling off in agony and thought it looked serious.

Yet another 90 minutes of joke football from us. 2-0 up and we cock it up again. To cap it off it was the second time in a month we've broken the record for our lowest ever football league attendance, this one over 10% lower than the previous. Admittedly there were only 38 Morecambe fans but that's still less than 2200 home fans. Mind you I can't blame people for staying away from that shower of shite.

The thing is we've actually got a good squad. It's the management who are tactically clueless.

Maybe a small blessing for you that you still have Akinola then, over the EFL cock up?
Perhaps, although he isn't making the matchday squad anyway at the moment.

We were awful last night. After 20 I thought we'd beat them but from then on Wycombe were the better team. They looked a good side. Onto Lincoln now.

To be fair to Morecambe. 78 came to Notts on a Saturday so to take 38 to Yeovil is amazing

As said on Stagsnet though, if we've had such a poor showing and still got a point against a more than competent side then fair enough, 4 points from 6.

Famous last words, but Lincoln away, Cambridge home and Cheltenham away should provide a minimum of 6 points. It's getting to the stage where the "still gelling" argument is wearing a little thin

Joke is a bit harsh - we weren't that bad, certainly better than against Cheltenham although admittedly that wasn't difficult. They were horrendous conditions and Morecambe played them slightly better than us, albeit we actually scored quite a well worked goal against the conditions. I actually quite liked the look of the side we put out.

The crowd however, is extremely worrying, and depressingly unsurprising. The only positive is that it should finally show the board that this is a decline that is increasing at pace and without fresh ideas and investment could well prove terminal in sending us to the non-league abyss.

Football has a funny way of working in cycles. Prime example Pompey and Southampton.

2001/2002
Pompey - Championship
Southampton - Premiership

2008/2009
Pompey - Win FA CUP and play AC Milan
Southampton - League One

2017/2018
Pompey - League 1
Southampton - Premiership

Point being in a 15 year period Pompey came from nowhere to enjoy some incredible success while Southampton suffered dramatic relegations but in the end both clubs have ended up back where they hostorically belong (pompey need another promotion).

Blackpool completed their 15 year cycle recently doing League 2 to Prem then back to league 2 in this period.

After your brilliant journey to the Championship you could well be on the last leg of your return to non-league. You desperately need to consolidate, would be a shame to see you drop. Burton will probably be back there in 10 years as well.

Moral of the story is sooner or later we all end up back where we belong. Hopefully you can buck the trend.

Similar with us and the Cods - they got relegated to the Conference, we followed the next year. They got promoted back, we followed the next year.

Macc used to be even more closely linked to us in that sense. Couldn't get rid of the buggers.

Yeah you're right it was a bit harsh. Just the general frustrations coming out.

I agree, I actually really like the look of our squad, the problem is they are being given no direction.

I hope we can too but with the current board and management I can't see how it can happen. Darren Way probably has the safest job in the league as well.

How is Rhys Browne looking for you? He never really got a fair chance here I don't think and then when his Dad died he wanted to be closer to home so we never really got to see what he could do.

How the fuck are Accrington and stevenage doing well? Will they ever know their fucking place and stop making the bigger clubs in the league like us look like a joke?
Don't worry as the Lincs army's have recently been at their gaffs and put them both in their places. :bg:

Lincoln brought us down to Earth too, they are the definition of back to the bread and butter.

Proper fucking L2 team that they are.

Gotta get in there and get the job done. I love the battles that we see good old fashioned English football, all action. Sooner that than watching the prem sides pass it across their back line 10 minutes at a time.

Do find it amusing as well when League 2 sides try and claim to "play the right way". It's the 4th division if the players were good enough to bop it about for fun they wouldn't be down here.

That is the sort of attitude that has kept you lower than L1 and beyond for decades or even forever, have you ever been higher than L2?

You would've hated the Barnet v Exeter game on Tuesday.

Yes. You're all supporting the wrong clubs if you want to see pretty football week in week out. Pipe dream. We're all at the same level. And for the record we play some good stuff anyway.

Not wrong. Major part of the football experience is the atmosphere...

Reckon we will have one of the best atmospheres in this league. It's been electric at SB since about Xmas onwards. Tomorrow with a lot of away fans will be great.

I'm all for playing football in the right areas but I think for the majority of League Two playing football from the back is asking for trouble. All it needs is a little pressure, a misplaced pass and suddenly the opposition is through on goal.

Perhaps it alright if you've got good, ball-playing defenders in there, like maybe Alan Sheehan. But the majority of us have brutes.

Do mix it up but don't be afraid to lump it at a target man particularly from goalkicks and the keeper's hands.
