It was an estimate, the official attendance didn't get announced.

I'd heard it was 6342, & that Chesterfield had pre sold 175, but there looked to be about 300-350 there

There's a guy who runs a Swindon Town stats website, which has the crowd as 6140, with 196 away fans. If he didn't have an official number he would leave it blank, but no idea where he gets his info from. I would tend to believe it's accurate

Assuming that was pre sales as that was announced at 175 few days before the game. Likely more would have paid on the day with there being no benefit to buying n advance.
