Any indication as to whether or not Theo will be involved for you next season?
Unsure really he has reported back for training but we have signed a striker it's all very quiet on our side no rumours or anything.

Joe Murphy, who started his career with Rovers and at one point was linked with returning, made an amazing save in the 1-1 at Prenton Park where the point ensured the Shakers were promoted.

Paul Coutts should be a cracking signing for Fleetwood.

Can make a good post-PNE XI who have recently been at the Cods as player or staff.

David Lucas
Chris Lucketti, Sean Gregan, Youl Mawene
Graham Alexander
Barry Nicholson, Paul McKenna, Paul Coutts, Ross Wallace
Jon Parkin, Iain Hume
Experimental formation...

Wonder if I can bet on Paul Huntington, Tom Clarke or Paul Gallagher playing for them in 2021.

Dan Barlaser now signed on 12 month loan, having signed a new deal with Newcastle so they must think he has a good future.

Love this one, a car with a numberplate "G H60PER" has been seen outside the Medway Tunnel by a Gills fan, it has therefore been proposed that we are obviously just about to sign Gary Hooper...clearly.

Have you got some cash behind you? Would of thought he would be on good money.
The FA Cup money has probably gone. Well, I imagine it will have done because we've just spent £1.5m on a new training ground and we bought other players with it, but we made a good bit of money from the Checkatrade win two years ago, sell out of ST's, sell-out the home areas most games (and into away allocations as well if we're allowed, so 8k-10k attendances) and made a decent amount from player sales in the last couple of years (probably pushing £1m off the top of my head).

We generally run with a small squad as well.

How long did it take from them first announcing plans for a new training ground to the club actually building it? We've had 'serious plans' for one since moving into Stadium MK in 2007, and despite purchasing two bits of land, numerous discussions with the local council etc, we're seemingly no closer to it actually being built 12 years later. The £5m+ we got for Dele Alli was apparently ringfenced to help build it, but seems that money has either been used elsewhere or won't be used for a while.

It's very frustrating the red tape and lack of progress. Rumour is now that it's on hold until we return to the Championship which could be a long time.

Couldn't you have just stolen one?

Been seen plenty of times in Southend this summer too. He just lives locally, that's (probably) all.

It was mentioned when the serious FA Cup money started coming in, which would've been March '17 when we played Arsenal. Planning went in, in end of April '18, I can't remember when they started building but we moved in, in mid-December '18. They're doing Phase 2 at the minute, which is more tidying up i.e. tarmac the car park properly, snagging of buildings, maintenance on the pitches so it's the same as at Sincil Bank again, which got torn up a few weeks ago etc.

It was quicker because it's a kit building type I think. I can't remember exactly, but it also allows us to expand it easier at a later date if needed. We also lease the land off a local farmer so we didn't have them delays (land around here is very, very expensive, partly due to Mr. Dyson buying it all up and increasing prices by doing so, so it was a case of buying up front for £12,000+ an acre and have little use for it after (before all the other fees) or rent for £200 a year per acre). It's on a long term lease of 35 years IIRC. The plan will be to build a training ground in with any Stadium move (which will be a few years away) and then probably allow the Academies to use it as well if there's any time left on the lease.

It was a 7-day a week, 12-14 hour day operation, though. Very much a case of getting it done as soon as possible.

@LukeImp - That's very quick, sounds like Lincoln's management team actually wanted it done rather than drag their heels over a vague ambition like ours have. Originally the plan for ours was a cat 1 academy attached to the training ground, but think we'd all just love a purpose built training ground on its own, whether its an identikit one or not.

Interesting post, never knew you followed Fleetwood so much, closet fan eh...

Some crackin players there albeit all past their best when they came. Youl still with us doing an excellent job, GA did tremendous in his first season getting us to 10th place, Barry Nicholson very much part of Barton's management team

Now the 64$ question, who was the bigger pie eater, Sean Gregan or Jon Parkin ?

Gassy some rumours I heard today are THD is considering retirement as he’s playing through severe pain and just can’t seem to sort his issue, another great DC buy. Also JCH out for up to 4 weeks with a groin injury.

Anything your end?

Apparently a marquee signing fell through yesterday for us. We've been linked with Leon Clarke - I hope it's not him as Clarke-Harris & Clarke would be unbelievable upfront.

Holmes-Dennis has picked up a really bad knee injury, the club have sent him home. He might retire which is absolutely devastating. Either way it's unlikely we'll see him this season.

Clarke-Harris picked up a groin injury & will miss most of pre-season which is a worry for fitness. Plus one of our wingers sent a photo of him in hospital with a cast/wrapping around his leg.

We've gone from being very optimistic and a strong summer off the pitch to very quickly being worried
Just caught up on this, it’s no secret then. Fair enough.

Edit - just saw the Gaschat thread about it. Tyler Dunnell in there commenting bless him.

I hope it’s not true. THD is some talent - far too good for this league. I think it was worth the risk from DC tbf. He was one of the reasons we stayed up last season when he came back from injury

Rekeil Pyke, the young forward we had on loan from Huddersfield at the end of last season, must have enjoyed his time here, because he's signed on loan again for the full season. From what I saw last time he'll be a useful addition - works hard and doesn't hide. If he can grab a couple of early goals to get in the scoring habit he could be very useful.

Sean Gregan preferred chips by all accounts, really enjoyed himself in an Oldham chippy... (bit of a folklore story). He was quite trim in his Preston days, it's Leeds where he put on the pounds.

Jon Parkin likes his kebabs.

Would love Youl back at Deepdale in some capacity, best defender i've seen for this club and he's cool as fuck.

Don't really mind Fleetwood because of all the Preston connections, plus they piss Blackpool fans off.

French striker on loan with us. Rumours are it's Mikael Mandron who we were linked with earlier in the summer. Still have no idea if he's any good or not.
