I noticed Chelsea scored so late last night in Madrid that there wasn't even time for the hosts to kick-off!

Have you seen that before?

Usually you get a few seconds of play afterwards..

today in the WC Qualifier between Northern Ireland and Germany (1-3) Norn Iron made the consolation goal in the 93rd minute and the referee ended the match

England should be grateful for time added on. Stoppage time goals in three of our qualifying matches have given us five points more than we would otherwise have had.

I still think football should adopt a game clock rather than playing in real time and adding on some random amount of stoppage time (which spookily, is usually one minute and four minutes at the end of each half respectively).

Stop the clock at certain points of the match (substitutions, player treatment on the pitch, time wasting, etc) and play until the 90 minutes are up and the ball next goes out of play after that.

A simple resolution to time wasting and nobody is in any doubt about when the game will end.

Got them a few points but as you say England got one late ofcourse against them!!
