I started the last away match thread and we won so i'm doing it again.

Dodgy-ish start by Hull but they obviously have some good players, will never complain about a point on the road but I think we have it in us to get the maximum here if we're on the money. Always looks a tough place to go to on paper though so i'm not massively confident.

Any news on Pearson? if he's fit then I imagine he will come in for Welsh who has played well in both his games but probably can't play twice in a week any more. I also think Browne was unlucky to lose his place and Harrop was pretty poor on Saturday so i'd rotate them.

I'd like to see Horgan given a chance but can't see us messing with the front three.

Maxwell
Fisher, Huntington, Davies, Earl
Browne, Pearson, Johnson
Maguire, Hugill, Barkhuizen

Hudson, Woods, Spurr, Harrop, Mavididi, Horgan, Robinson

"Manager Alex Neil has no new injury concerns ahead of the trip to face Hull City on Humberside on Tuesday night.

The North End boss revealed at his media conference for the game that midfielder Ben Pearson was still a doubt from the injury that has ruled him out since the away game at Middlesbrough a month ago, but that he was nearing a return to action.

Goalkeeper Declan Rudd and defenders Tom Clarke and Greg Cunningham remain on the casualty list as they continue to work hard after their respective injuries."

Why is the world so cruel?

Shows we've improved though, last season we were generally bollocks when Pearson wasn't available, we've got 2 wins and and 2 draws without him this month.

Can't help but think we could have beaten Barnsley and Millwall if we had him and Cunningham in the side to give us more going forward,

YEah we did. Barkhuizen nearly scored goal of the season 5 minutes before his goal.

Buzzing. Could have had 4 after Hugill went off, looked so much better getting it on the deck.

Made hard work of it by conceding a soft set piece just after half time but great win in the end.

Commentators were raving about Alan Browne, he's come into his own under Neil.

I've always loved Alan Browne, so underrated by our fans. His ball control is quality and he breaks up play brilliantly, I reckon he's been our best player so far this season along with Hunts.

I was very wrong about Preston. Fair play to you, look a real threat.

Fair enough Mark. We might well fade off but we knew we had the players to click this season. Alex Neil has unleashed our forward line and were looking very very good. Completely different style of play compared to our Grayson days.

Early days yet but I feel the play offs are a serious shout this season.

Big fan of Alan Browne myself. Got a bit of everything and his energy in the middle is immense.

But DJ for me this season has been absolutely class. When he's confident and player in the right position he's a absolute joy to watch.

Was a very good game last night I thought. 1st half I thought was fairly even with both teams passing the ball very well, Hull are extremely fond of a long diag especially Michael Hector. They played some neat stuff but never really threatened and we pressed high and created some decent chances. Hugill blazed over from 20 yards when Fisher was in on the right, Barks nearly scored a volley from a beautiful DJ ball and then Browne's follow up was saved well. Fraizier Campbell should have been sent off too, Welsh tackled him hard but fairly, 30 seconds later Campbell kicks out at Welsh well after the ball had gone.

2nd half we conceded early on from a free kick with some awful defending. It then took until about the 70th minute for us to wake up, we took Hugill off, pushed Maguire up top and played with Harrop, Horgan and Robinson in and around him and we played some fantastic stuff, could have had a couple before we did eventually score. To be fair though, Hull hit the bar and Hector missed a free header at the back post so could have been very different. Thought we just about deserved it overall though.

Last I heard one doctor was advising him not to play and the other was saying he's fine, so he went to see a specialist. This was 3-4 weeks ago now though so I would presume he's been told not to play
