Wolves home atmosphere has been disappointing this season, considering we've been top for most of it. Villa and Sheff Utd the atmosphere was electric, those games aside it was been pretty shit. Ironically it was probably better in the last few seasons when we were shit.

Our stadium may be full most weeks, but thats because we have attracted a load of bandwagon premier league fans who are just here for the good times. They can't generate a good atmosphere if their lives depended on it.

You weren’t there for the 2007 Bristol City promotion party? That was pretty good. Still yet to suffer opposition getting promoted on our patch. An unusual bit of trivia.

I was at that game. It was obvious from well before the game started that it wasn't going to be our day. 1000 odd City fans delayed after a coach got lost in the depths of South London. Class celebration from your fans when you scored (fans trampolining on the net separating you from us) despite it meaning absolutely nothing in the context of your season.. you were just delighted to piss on our party. Bastards. ;)

But yeah, there aren't many good atmospheres these days. Always thought forest was good with two sets of vocal fans surrounding you on either side.. but haven't been for years.

Don’t we host Villa on the final day? Could be a test for that record!

Most grounds are poor. Ours is fucking awful, bar the odd game. Blame that on been a non league club and the flask and non league directory brigade.
The link above genuinely makes my hairs stand on end however. Amazing stuff

Never seen that before, that’s quality.

I think any ground on its day has amazing atmosphere. Some grounds seem more conducive to it...smaller, closed in, older grounds. Doesn't necessarily need numbers of people. In recent years, I remember fantastic atmosphere (home and away fans) at Port Vale, Bradford (BCFC) and Swindon. But also Sheffield Utd (when we played them in League 1 late on in the season), Brighton and our amazing day out in Milton Keynes. And great memories of a noisy afternoon at the City Ground. Yet Elland Road - visited only twice though - was underwhelming..possibly because I had higher expectations.

If we get promoted, I will miss the atmosphere at Championship grounds. In the PL there's a hell of a lot of tourists who are there after paying £400 for a match ticket and open top bus tour of London combo-ticket. When I was a glory-hunting PL ST holder (Using the term loosely....think 'glory' more in terms of 'hole' than 'hunting') the two seats next to me at Molineux were always occupied by people who had bought their ticket through an agency in London. Always clueless. No idea what we were singing. Always sat down. Occasionally clapped. More worried about getting ketchup on their Oxford University sweatshirt.

The atmosphere at games in England and Scotland is far better, on average, than the atmosphere at most games in France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. There are exceptions in western Europe, but I wouldn't knock the noise coming even from the seats in the UK. Except in North London.

Do you really think so? I've never been to games in any of those countries but from what I've heard, the atmosphere in Germany particularly is far superior to ours due to cheaper tickets, terracing and the availability of beer.

I often watch my local Sicilian team and although they are noisy as fuck, they don't react to what goes on on the pitch. It's all choreographed which just makes it just seem placid. The best atmospheres are the spontaneous ones. The Maracana is still the best atmosphere I've experienced followed by the gate in our playoff game vs Palace (alright you might groan but it was rocking and that was a one off)

Too many of you lot are sat on your ass -- That's the problems with most poor atmospheres nowadays.

I can only imagine what a cauldron of atmosphere your shit heap of a ground generates.

The only half decent ones at Pride Park are Forest/Play off games.

T

Agree with this, but as the South Stand is sold out all season round, I think every game has a couple of minutes of a decent atmosphere.

It's usually before the silence, booing and shouts of 'gerrit forward!'

There's a few German clubs with a decent atmosphere, yes. But outside maybe 10-12 clubs..not a lot.

I blame the decline in football atmospheres on the decline of the mullet.

Not the same Cardiff nowadays. Ninian Park was a moody ground, one of my favourites. Cardiff hardly turn up off the field either, or they haven't done so since 2008.

Villa park on its day is up there. Sadly, a good atmosphere at the ground is becoming a bit like our trophy success over the last 3 decades, few and far between. Not many grounds in England are decent on a regular basis, and even then it's hardly worth talking about. Elland Road has impressed me the most since us getting relegated.

Last home ground I visited that had a decent atmosphere was Bramwell Lane last season. May have been the occasion though, big crowd etc...

Other than that, probably Burnley a few year back for Coyle’s return in the cup.

I did enjoy the "just like Cardiff, your City is blue" with a big empty tier of red seats staring everyone in the face

But your city is blue. Most real bristolians support rovers. Atleast we were singing something, couldn't even hear your lot. Other than a few hand gestures towards the family stand. 1-0 unlucky

Ok ok, I take it back, your support isn't that bad. But rovers are bigger and I'm sure we can all agree on that....... (just joking don't have a period over it)
All chilled here, just remarking on the previous drivel. :)

Millwall and Sheff Wed were good from the grounds I've visited this season.

A good atmosphere at the SoL is very few and far between these days, obviously not helped by what is on the pitch.
