Is everyone satisfied with their club's business and how the squad looks?

Got 4 strikers (although is Okaka wanted?) and a lot in midfield.

Maybe short out wide and at left back though..

Of course will depend on injuries/suspensions but the squad generally looks good and has more competition in certain area.

Still a few deadwood players around.

Bloody great window for us. Merson gave us a B+ in his grades feature. Well Paul can go fuck himself. Easily an A.
We've got Iheanacho in who can play with or in place of Vardy. We got Sevilla captain Iborra, Sporting Lisbon captain Adrien Silva who will take Drinkwaters spot. And we have a permanent replacement for one of our ageing defenders in Harry Maguire and brought in Dragovic on loan with a view to a permanent deal if he does the job. Also got Jakupovic in to replace Zieler.
The late signings of Dragovic and Silva are also pleasing because they are players we tried to sign last summer, so at least these guys have been on the radar and arent last minute panic buys. Despite being, well, last minute.

Now watch them all be shite.

Only Merson would give United's transfers an A+ rating then state he's not convinced by 2 out of the 4 signings.

A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
Mixed.

Needed a long term replacement for the aging Boruc - ticked with Begovic
Needed to improve the defence - partially ticked with Ake
Defoe is a nice to have although a striker wasn't essential. Another winger option in Mahoney again nice to have but not essential
Still a few positions left with little or no cover, still a squad with some imbalance, heavy in attack and light at the back.

We've trimmed the squad down of deadwood, but in doing so have ended up reducing our options in defence rather than bolstering them. Even if unproven or deadwood, some of those we've let leave would at least have provided cover. I'll be wincing every time Adam Smith goes in for a challenge.

Lukaku - I had my reservations when he was announced as a United player but he's hit the ground running so far, seems to fit the team perfectly and is still not even into his prime years.

Matić - Perfect signing. Exactly what we needed.

Lindelöf - Impossible to judge before he gets some competitive minutes. We'll get a better idea once the schedule picks up and we are juggling league games with Europe and the cups.

Pretty happy
Mo Salah, Solanke, Robertson and Al are all great signings.
Keita joing next summer and players like Origi, Ojo, Kent and few more out on load getting precious game time.
I will miss Sakho though but I wish all the best.

Lol.

Smashed our transfer record for Lacazette, signed a beast in Kolasinac for NOTHING, shipped a ton of deadwood, kept hold of Ozil and Sanchez, made a profit... what's not to like???

Speaking of Sakho, Palace are bloody lucky to have come away with him rather than Mangala. That could mean the difference between relegation and staying up.

Seems to have quickly changed his tune on Chalobah - said he wouldn't cut it not being in the comfort zone of Chelsea but now rates him highly.

Guess that is because England have picked him!

Superb, spent twice as much money as I thought we would, added real quality and depth, and got most of our business done early so we could spend a full pre season together. Gone from being content with winning a corner this season to genuine hopes of survival.

Why do you think we've had a bad window Leewilson? Not that I disagree, just curious.

You're the one I struggled with the most. Sakho is a much needed signing. I just felt that De Boer has come in and not really put his stamp on things. Sam spent a chunk of money in January so maybe the purse strings were tight. But for a manager who has a completely different style, it surprises me that maybe he didn't try to do a couple more outs and ins.

Jan Bednarek - Horrendous, judging from pre-season and the 2-0 cup defeat against Wolves.

Mario Lemina - Excited about this one. Only a few months a go he was playing in a Champions League final. Looked okay in his first few appearances.

Wesley Hoedt - Don't know. But I'm hoping/expecting something good.

So, as for incomings, it's been a bit disappointing to see just three players come in. It was also clear throughout last season and possibly seasons before that we're lacking goals from midfield, sepcifically the wingers and that hasn't been addressed even though Jay Rodriguez moved out, so that's also disappointing.

However, for the first time since the 2014 World Cup summer out first team hasn't been ripped apart. VvD, Bertrand and Cedric have all been linked with moves away and would be huge losses for us, but they've remained, despite Van Dijk's well documented stop and Bertrand's noticeable lack of effort. So, therefore this summer could be a more telling one for us than what it looks on the eye, especially after the corrupt Chinese guys took over us.

Not bad but should've definitely been better?

Lacking a bit of depth in a couple of places, especially at LWB with Kenedy not being too great and Rahman out injured until January and he was shit for us before.

Only 3 senior wingers but if that means Musonda is actually gonna get played im all for that.

3 strikers at the club being Morata, Bats and Costa. It's doubtful Costa will ever play for us again.

Happy with the main signings though, Rudiger, Morata and Bakayoko are all quality players and from what I've read Zappacosta will be an improvement over Moses.

I actually dont think Uniteds window was as good as people seem to be saying.

Lukaku and bringing Ibra back. were no brainers, no problems there but im not sure about the other two.

Matic has hit the ground running and definitely improves us in the short term but I still cant help but feel 40 million for a 29 year old is terrible business. Coupled with the fact Herrera and Fellaini are similar ages and Carrick is in his last year we basically have Pogba for the medium term. Someone younger should have been identified. Saying all that at least we didnt sign Eric Dier.

Lindelof is a waste of money. He is right now at best our fifth best centre back. But from what we saw pre season he is worse than Blind and Tuanzabe too. He is blocking the door to Tuanzabe who already looks good enough for games and will probably get some in miidfield again instead.

I assume he was signed to cover the Rojo injury, our annual CB injury crisis and to have an extra body for three at the back..But without signing Perisic we really dont have the quality at wing back to play that system. We are literally one injury to Valencia to having Blind (cant run)and Darmian (cant run, defend.or attack) as first choice full backs. Short of Shaw finally fullfilling some promise there we are in trouble. We really should have prioritised another attacking full back, Aurier would have done and trusted Tuanzabe more but thats not Jose.

Perreira going out on loan whilst good for him leaves us fucked if Pogba gets injured for a while.

so yea we improved the squad but the biggest improvment is Martial and Rashford being a year older and Mikihi and Pogba being settled in. We are basically still reliant on Pogba and Valencia staying injury free.

It's been very good for us. We really needed a new goalkeeper, Pickford has been excellent so far. Keane also looks like a really good signing, Klaassen and Sigurdsson will be really good once they get a few games under their belts. Rooney so far has been much better than I expected, how long that lasts for though I'm unsure. Sandro also looks a bargain.

Ideally we would have signed one more proven striker and another defender, hopefully we can get by until January without them

Yep when he comes back he will be a really useful option. Most of our fans weren't too impressed by him last season, despite him creating a chance in near enough every game he played, but I like him. We hope to have him back around December I think and Coleman November time

I agree Everton have improved in several positions but where are you replacing Lukaku's goals?

Reasonably happy with Liverpool's business though disappointed there isn't another CB in the entire world who could offer us what Van Dijk apparently would. By no stretch of the imagination is Klavan good enough for the Prem and Gomez shows promise but is very inexperienced. I live in constant fear that I might die before I find out what Sakho did to piss Klopp off that much.

I also can't see how Ox is worth 40m with only a year left in his contract. The more I think about it, the more it annoys me. Thats 10m less than Sanchez nearly went for. Sanchez, who is comfortably one of the top 3 players in the league for the last 3 years. I genuinely can't understand why there wasn't a bigger deal made of that in the press. He came to us because we apparently offered him football in a position I hope he gets nowhere near unless we have injuries. Hes a WB for me.

Salah has to be one of the buys of the Summer and I'm really looking forward to watching Solanke play. I was a fan of Robertson at Hull so very happy with that purchase as well. I've never seen Keita play but have got carried away with everyone else and think hes comfortably going to be a superstar made for Klopp's midfield when he arrives next year.

I'm not as disappointed about the GK situation as many other Liverpool fans. Not because I think Mignolet is good enough long term but because I still believe (foolishly perhaps) that Karius has potential. Also, I'd like to see Ward get a proper go the next time Mig has a nightmare. To Mig's credit, he does seem to play better when theres competition for the place.

In terms of OUTS, I can't begrudge Lucas his move and I've already touched on Sakho. Very happy with Ojo and Origi playing regular football and a bit gutted that we might never see de Souza play for us. Manninger's retirement, while inevitable, was still tough to hear. Its almost as if that was a completely pointless signing.

I doubt we would have signed one individual to replace Lukaku's goals, think the idea is to spread the goals out around the new attackers and midfielders we've signed. If we can get 15 between Rooney & Sandro, and 10 between Gylfi, Klaassen and Vlasic we've done that, any more and it's a job very well done

Going to upgrade my verdict from "a shocker" (as I posted in the transfer rumours thread) to "slightly disappointing". Glad we got the Drinkwater and Zappacosta deals over the line as we now have something resembling a squad (this was the minimum requirement given we're competing on four fronts). Don't think we've really improved the first team very much (a shame, but a difficult task given a strong first XI) but there's a question as to whether Morata can be an effective replacement for Costa. I think a lack of depth in attacking areas may prove to be a problem - five players for three AM/S positions isn't ideal, especially as Morata and Bats aren't very accustomed to the league.

But Hazard will be like a new signing! ;D

14 seconds has changed ours from being pretty awesome to just plain old good. Adrien Silva is also getting the number 14 shirt. No joke.
