So you've gone from a player getting sent off to the guy he pushed over being banned for diving/cheating.

Either the ref really got badly conned or isn't up for the job?

I mean surely either way it must be clear cut what happened...

Lee Tomlin has been given 80 hours community service following his court case. Good news for us now it's all out the way. Means he can get back to his football.

I find it incredible that the guy that showed an act of aggression by shoving our bloke over, regardless of where the contact was has had his red taken away. Surely violent conduct with that amount of force is a red?!

Shows a great example to everyone... shove whoever you want, as hard as you want... just not in the face!

80 hours community service for breaking a mans jaw? Fucking ridiculous.

Yes - did think raising your hands was a potential red card offence hence Deeney getting banned for it after the game because the ref missed it.

And all players go down easily - we'd be having 30/40 banned each week for it if enforced all the time..

The FA had introduced the restrospective ban to try and clamp down on simulation, which I do support.
I accept I am biased, but really struggling to see how Wright should get a ban there.
It's like the FA have decided now is the time to act, but don't have the balls to do it to a Premier League team.

He's been good, no doubt, but the recruitment here is very much a collective thing, so I wouldn't expect him to be able to put it all together on his own (assume you've got a decent starting base to build on though!)

Love our recruitment, we definitely had a poor window a couple of years ago (but even in a poor window we got in Woods, Barbet and Canos!) but on the whole pretty much every signing has a big plus next to them.

Doesn't always mean they are better than the player who left, Watkins ain't no Jota yet, nor is Dalsgaard as good as Colin, or Egan as good as Dean, but they've all got the potential to be better, and we've strengthened in other positions too.

We're in a good place though, Canos, Henry, Woods, Watkins, Maupay are all brilliant talents and very young too, wouldn't surprise me if they all went for £10m+ each in a couple of years' time.

Preston North End
Bolton's chairman coming out with a load of bollocks the other day saying we're up for sale and that Bolton are a much better proposition than us.

Was quickly announced as bullshit by the club and Hemmings has come out with a good interview today.

Trevor Hemmings says he still has work to do as the owner of Preston North End, contrary to claims that the club is up for sale.

Earlier this week, Bolton chairman Ken Anderson had told Wanderers fans during a question and answer evening that North End were for sale.

Anderson was answering a question about Bolton’s future when he made the comment about PNE. In an exclusive interview with the Post, Hemmings made clear his commitment to North End.

He said that from time to time, PNE were contacted by people purported to have an interest in buying the club. But the interest had never gone further and Hemmings says his work is not done at Deepdale.

He told the Post: “Every now and then, Peter Ridsdale will get someone knocking on the door saying that they are interested in Preston. “I will ask Peter to listen to them out of courtesy and see what they have to say.

“Unless it was a very rich American who had the best interests of Preston at heart, I’m not interested.

“I have not yet done what I want to do here, I want the club in the highest division. “Peter is already looking at players for January – we are not asleep, we are busy.

“We are in good shape, not a penny debt has this club got.

“I’m comfortable with what we are doing, I like the progress we have made. “I like the manager we have got, we are looking upwards and not downwards.”

Turns out we (Brentford) were the top scorers in the Championship in 2017!

Obviously this misses out the teams that went up, but a pretty cool (though pointless) achievement/stat nonetheless.
