Bloody hell, that was ridiculous. No idea what we were doing, so open, every time we lost the ball Yeovil had a free run at goal, could’ve scored about 10. Needs an absolutely massive rethink and we need to get back to what we were good at last season - being bloody difficult to play against.

We have abandoned everything that made us successful last season

We were a big, physical direct side. Now we are trying to play like man city with a bunch of midgets.

Played well for twenty minutes. Then we lost all confidence. Boos in the first half. Embarrassing...

Case of a young manager trying to run before he can walk?

I don’t think Nolan is going to get this right. He doesn’t know how to get them playing how everyone wants, attractive football.

Even when we were up there last season there were conplaints of boring football as we just soaked up and hit direct to the big men up front.

Maybe Nolan only knows direct, he’s played most of career that way.

Next 3 games will decide his future I think, he knows after the interview that he’s now under pressure from the fans at least.

I think that Nolan hadn't liked the accusations of being long ball. Notts were more than that.

We don't have the personnel to play the system in a 442.

Nolan can turn this around but I can't see reverting to hoof helping... Ameobi was crucial to that. Stead isn't a target man

What a garbage result, thought Notts would be a big threat this season.

The formation is a huge problem. Nolan wants to play 4-4-2 to get Hemmings and Dennis plus Boldewijn and Thomas in the team, but our central midfielders are totally incapable of playing in that system and need the extra body.

He’s got to decide who is getting dropped to allow us to go 3-5-2 or 4-5-1.

Wouldn't surprise me if Big Al decides he needs a new CB and CM. Nolan seems wedded to 442 so I'm not sure it will change. I can't see him sacking Nolan.

I don’t think we need any new players, we need to work out how to fit the ones we have into one team. We can only play three of Hemmings, Dennis, Boldewijn and Thomas.

You can't play those 4 if you play Vaughan. He's the one who doesn't fit a 442 imo

I think even with Yates and Hewitt at their peak of early last season we would struggle in a 4-4-2 with those four - it only worked because Hawkridge was so hard working and intelligent defensively.

If we’re going to go with the possession, passing thing that’s fine, but we’ve got to give ourselves the best chance of pulling it off, and that’s with the extra man in midfield.

I think 3-4-1-2 looks our best bet with one of Boldewijn and Thomas playing in a free role. I think we’ve got to get the front two in.

Whatever he decides to do, the timing of the next two games is difficult... Newport away on a Tuesday followed by Lincoln away is not good on this kind of run with the high levels of expectations

Wow. That was quite simply a superb performance from us.

It was the whole package. If we can keep that up we'll be in a very decent position come the end of the season.

Arquin and McDonald were causing all sorts of problems on the wings, DJ has more tricks than Paul Daniels, Sessi is a beast in the middle, Pattison ran his heart out, Omar and Gary were rock solid at the back and Fisher is a proper centre forward. Led the line and was a fox in the box. Loved it

Fuck me.
Yeovil, direct, excellent movement, well coached ,cohesive , strong with physical presence but by no means route one. Great performance, 30 more of those and its play offs or automatics.

Notts.
Terrible starting eleven. Vaughan and Hussin is a pathetic midfield pairing. Boudwijn and Thomas did not track back at all. We effectively played five up front. Arrogant!!
Felt very sorry for Hemmings and Dennis, not much service, neither is a target man, both want to run off a target man.
The defence get slaughtered but with no cover that's what will happen most weeks.
We've now not scored in two of three matches with an attacking line up.
Most worryingly, we don't have a target man on the books or a midfield cruncher. This has the potential to be a proper mess. We ( Hardy) is going to have to go into the loan market and sign some height and strength.
Nolan should just forget 442 with that lot, we will get rolled over week after week if he persists.
4132 , drop Thomas and Hussin have a narrow midfield and just try to be compact without the ball.
We were like a lightweight schoolboy team tonight. No heart, no guts, parhetic.
Nolan is under pressure. It's ridiculously ear!y but we've spent a huge amount on his team and we 've gone baxkwards.

Last season we played poorly against the bottom 3,4. Maybe we are getting them in early this time.

Hmm, early evidence suggests Yeovil could surprise a few. Although to be fair, they have a few of these results in them a season, where they batter teams seemingly out of nowhere.

If Yeovil make the play-offs with Arquin and Fisher in the starting line-up something has seriously gone wrong.

I never know what to expect, we typically perform to a level below the sum of the parts

We get so many new players each and every season I never know whether we are going to gel or not. That being sad I thought we looked alright in pre-season and considering our opening day we finished with 9 and we were equals to a strong Mansfield team.

Hoping/expecting a dull mid-table finish this year.

Maybe they just didn't play well for you? They were both brilliant last night and have been since they joined us. Fisher has 9 in 19 and Arquin has scored as many for us in 3 games as he did for you in 12.

I don't think it's the players who are the problem.

That was the most pleasing thing about last night, we played as a team. Everyone played their part and it all worked perfectly. All the players look really up for this season.

Yeovil looked good v Villa quite unlucky to lose that one so great effort to go away on Friday and bounce back in style.

Btw I said this a couple of weeks ago. :bdick:

Wouldn't be a shock to see Yeovil in the top 7.

I know my stuff.

I’ll happily be proved wrong, but let’s see untill later in the season.

Some of the comments on here regarding Yeovil are comical, opposite side of the coin to how County fans are reacting!!
