Spurs were the last I heard .

No real opinion on Spurs either way.

Quite a few of our lot used to mix with Chelsea and vice versa, and they used to take hundreds away in Europe, including a load of ours as well. Only once went to the Old Den, or Bandit Country as they used to call it and that was an experience.

West Ham only turned up once at Reading and that was in 2004. Didn't see much of them again after that.

Probably because it’s Reading, no-one turns up at Reading expecting a ruck. It’s possibly the most sterile away day in the football league.

It did at Elm Park back in the day, but every man and their dog was out for West Ham in 2004 - we used to drink bang next to the station and it went off down the side streets nearby, but didn't see head nor tail off them two years later when we beat them 6-0 :cool1:

there was one the other month between supposedly Brentford and Millwall from memory and there was even some c*** filming that.

It was Brentford/Millwall, not even at football. They arranged some meet midweek during the summer. Pathetic really.

I know that a few Millwall got an early morning knock because of that video.

Was you there for the game against us in 2006 when it went it town?

The City lads that went up to Bermondsey for a tear up last year were up in court the other week because a bystander filmed it which just proves my point entirely.

Just goes to show it’s definitely not worth it, the footage I saw was of City getting filled in. Imagine getting a hiding then getting sent away for it ffs.

Any evidence it actually happened?
I can vouch for it. I walked out the stadium late after a piss and both sets of fans were literally scrapping (or should I say “bouncing”) in front of me. Further on from the ground Bolton fans were grouping up in the dark and attacking any isolated Wigan fans who couldn’t defend themselves. A few elderly fans got badly hurt by those hit and runners. Those cowards represent the modern day hooligan element unfortunately.

I think actual jail time is rare in this era - Unless you're collared for proper mental shit (which rarely happens nowadays anyway)

Think it's more a case of CS, license, banning order etc.

Following our game with Blackpool in 2013, we had 49 arrested. As far as I know, nobody did jail time.....and I think only 16 were actually charged and got banning orders. Some of those charges were for ABH too.

I reckon landing a few left n right hooks to the face of a Lasher is defo worth doing 150hrs CS for.

Same fixture in 1996 saw 108 arrested, and 30 odd actually sent to jail.

That were bad, but it didn't help your mob running in that direction to get out of the way, typical modern day footie lads, never once did the lads I went with ran towards any neutral fans, we either gave or took a kicking, that is how it was then, never would I have attacked a neutral, in fact, have given some young lads a slap after I saw them doing that, Sheffield away last season was an example of that. Modern day "lads" are just a joke.
Saying that, Stoke on saturday will be interesting, we have a long history with them, but still expect it to be pretty sterile compared to 80's/90's

Stoke used to be mayhem, home and away, they’re like most clubs these days though, ourselves included, there’ll be plenty of young divs in their aquascutum scarves gesturing at each other but running a fucking mile if anyone actually comes at them. There’s a small part of me that misses the carnage of a Stoke away etc but now as a parent of a football mad lad it’s made a number of grounds now accessible that previously you wouldn’t have dreamed of going with kids. My lad walking round Cardiff in his top last season being a perfect example.

With regard the earlier discussion about London, during my days West Ham were definitely the top dogs actually in London but on the road Spurs were always the naughtiest crew to come to us, every single time.

Remember in my youth on a Tuesday night getting the tube to Upton Park station on my lonesome with a Wigan shirt on. As more people got on each stop closer I realised the stupidity of what I’d done. Thankfully I got away with some dirty looks and a few awful attempts at a mocking Northern accent as I walked up the stairs head down with what felt like half the “GSE” behind me. Decided to walk an extra 30-45 minutes to Stratford international after the game, I don’t think I’d have been so lucky if I’d gone back to Upton Park station after we’d just shagged em 4-1.

Had no idea this football forum was heavily populated by proper hard bastards

Maybe if you and your boys bothered to show up yesterday you would have seen just how hard.

It used to be awful in the 1970's and 80's. I've never looked to be involved, but have been jumped whilst with a group of mates.
So a couple of wild swings and kicking fresh air then a quick dart down a back alley, over somebody's garden wall, through their garden and a lucky escape is the closest I've got

My very first away game without supervision was as a 16 year old, I sneaked off to watch Sheffield United at Mansfield Town,
You can catch a service bus directly from Sheffield to Mansfield so that's how I got there, I bought a return ticket, but unfortunately so much damage had been done to the buses on the way that the bus company didn't run any return buses.

Mansfield had no train station at the time, so I've now got a problem, I'm stuck in Mansfield with hardly any money, no mobile phones in those days and no cash machines.
About two hundred fans only had one option, walk to Chesterfield and try to catch the service bus back to Sheffield, I'd just about got enough cash left to do this

The 200 or so fans set off on about a 12 mile walk to Chesterfield, and proceeded to smash Mansfield to bits, I kept well out of it (honestly) but being only 16 years old I followed them at a short distance because didn't want to end up on my own and lost.
The police eventually caught up with us and a mass brawl broke out which ended up with the police arresting everyone they could get their hands on, I was one of them.

I spent the night in a police cell, we were all stood up on our feet all night because so many were crushed into two cells that you couldn't sit down.

I got dropped off in Sheffield City Centre next morning and had to walk the 6 miles back to my mum and dads house and had to explain where I'd been for the last 24 hours
