One time we got told we got asked to go to an away match with our mate Dillion that I used to work with, so me and my 5 mates that I always went with, agreed to go. We got tooled up and set off, but on the way to the game we found a load of other lads had already been beaten up in a really serve way, the rival firm has skinned them and left them hanging from a tree. We asked Dillion if he knew this lad (Jim Hopper)was going to the game and he said he didn't. We carried on to the ground despite the upset, but when we got to the match the away end was full of Russians, even though the match was in Bolivia, we had a massive dust up and actually killed most of the Bolivians and Russians, one tried to sneak up on me but I turned and threw a knife that went through him and pinned him to a post, and me and my team made short work of the rest due to our advanced training and superior weaponry.

We were looking about pleased for ourself, when my mate Mac finds me and says that we had been tricked, and that we weren't even at a football ground...

For a bit of variety, I was at the 1980 Specials gig on Midsummer Common that ended up with Terry Hall and Jerry Dammers charged with incitement to riot and fined £400. Bouncers aside, most of the "bootboys" who kicked off were the same ones looking for trouble down Newmarket Road that afternoon and the Abbey on a regular basis.

http://www.theguardian.com/culture/2002/mar/08/artsfeatures.popandrock

http://2-tone.info/artists/the_specials.html

In Cambridge, an audience member jumped on-stage and attacked the support band, The Swinging Cats. Violence between bouncers and the audience flared throughout The Specials' set. Terry Hall hurled a mic-stand at one bouncer. Dammers announced that the band would stop if the violence didn't cease: another bouncer got on-stage and threatened him. After the gig, Hall & Dammers were arrested at the behest of the promoter and charged with incitement to riot. They were fined £400.

I was at the gig with a probation officer and solicitor who noted a few clients gathering and we'd moved to the side of the marquee for a more relaxed view of an excellent set.

How long have you got?

I'll just give the best (if that's the right word), Birmingham away in 95/96. In their infinite wisdom, West Mids police put our fans in the lower tier of the stand, with home fans filling the top. I collected nearly ten quid in change that came down, dodged a few snooker balls, lighters, and I can't even remember what else. After the game, plenty of fist fights in the car park with police not to be found. Managed only one broken window on the coach though.

Yep, remember that, it was around the time of the ground redevelopment and away fans were shuffled from pillar to post. That night a horse got stabbed and one had its leg amputated after being hit by a firework!!

Been caught up in lots of trouble over the years, some of the worst being at places you'd probably not expect it, York City, Oxford, Portsmouth immediately spring to mind. I've said it on here before the only place I ever genuinely feared I might not get home in one piece was Bristol City, a stag weekend in Western planned to coincide with Blues away at Ashton Gate in the mid 90s, was mayhem from the moment we arrived in Bristol to the moment we finally got away.

Been involved in loads of incidents in my younger days....stupidly. We're talking late teens up until about 21/22ish here.

Encounters with Grimsby, Bradford, Wigan, Lincoln and Hartlepool being particularly memorable.

Spent 3 years of my 22yr PNE supporting life banned from attending any football match involving Preston, and wasn't allowed within 500 metres of Deepdale, or anywhere in the town centre, on match days.

Thankfully, I grew up (a tiny bit) and discovered that women have something amazing to play with, called a vagina.

Met a beautiful girl who persevered with me when I was acting like a cock. Had a gorgeous little girl and chilled the fuck out.

I still cringe like fuck at some of the things I used to get involved in like, but I don't regret it at all.
I still have a little smirk when I see groups of young North End 'lads' on't mooch.

Football hooliganism is something that has always fascinated me, and probably always will.

Millwall away almost went off (as normal), was about an inch away from getting smacked by some racist bald old guy.

Sheffield Wed in our L1 promotion season, we'd just beaten them 1-0 and on the way out were greeted with rocks, coins, cones and whatever else they could throw at us. Needless to say they got returned and we legged it away.

Our games vs Southampton always end up in scraps due to a previous event.

I'm pretty sure Luton wanted a scrap but the Police stopped them.

Cha, you've got it spot on! At the time you couldn't give a fuck, nowadays I look back and think 'what the fuck was I on?....'

Met some top, top people along the way, mind.

I went to watch Sheffield united vs Birmingham a few years ago (my dads a Blade so the tickets were free.)

I remember before the game thinking the Birmingham fans were so loud, absolute amazing support!
That is until they started throwing coins...bloke sat two seats away from me got struck right on the top of his head opening up a small cut. Worst thing about it was the kids sitting behind me...if the coin had hit them it'd have scarred them for life!
I can still remember my brother going mental as well cause the police were recording the United fans even though it was mainly the the away end that were throwing stuff.

To this day I still have a dislike towards Birmingham fans over this. I understand it wasn't all the fans but it's simply due to those jumped up little nob heads thinking their hard that I think the worst of Birmingham. Only cowards and c*** throw coins at the football.

I remember being penned into a car park at St Andrews after they earned promotion in the 2006/07 to be met with a shower of coins, bottles and stones, the plod were utter shite as well, batoning any away fan with the temerity to complain.

Most recently was Saturday when I was stood having a pint outside Murphys bar in Berlin when a shed load of locals appeared camouflaged in scarves and sunglasses spoiling for a scrap, punches thrown by both sides, bottles and glasses exchanged, certainly wasn't there for that nor expecting it.

I must add, I didn't do anything remotely stupid barring minding my crate of Becks whilst my pals were in the doorway of the pub.

Similar happened in that 24 hour club in Hackescher Markt Friday night and Kilkenny's Friday early evening,

Most real football violence I've ever seen around the ground and in certain areas around Berlin over the weekend.

Timed that exit pretty well didn't I. It was the only area I'd been the previous day and on Saturday and as soon as I leave the lot went.

Aye it was literally minutes after you'd left for the other boozer. Saw some knob on a Sunderland forum try and blame England fans.

Always the case we get the blame all the time when 90% of the time it's either the plod or the locals. Granted the childish and pathetic behaviour of some of our lot though doesn't half piss me off at times. Prime example being stood in an Irish pub singing fuck the ira

Aye the irony of that wasn't lost on me, though €7 for a bottle of magners in Kilkenny's wasn't welcome.

Was only €5 in Murphys I was more than happy with that. Strongbow in there too, I get sick of that local lager. They shut it after the game though, ended up in a nightclub til 4.30am , very eventful.

Sounds like Blademan stictched you all up Walkley.

incidentally, some of the worst football violence I have been involved in was in Berlin. We was out there in November 2008 when we beat the Germans 2-1. Was drinking in the Irish pub at zoologischer I think it was, when we got on the train there to head to the stadium, it was carnage. Some of the biggest lumps I have ever seen came storming up the train hitting anyone in sight, there was fighting all the way to the next stop which is when I noticed how big these Germans really were, all scarved up and they had surgeon gloves and broken pieces of glass, one English bloke had his head slashed pretty badly. Fortunately, as the fighting spilled out on to station the overwhelming English numbers managed to fuck them off but train windows were smashed, armed police showed up the lot. Rest of the train journey was quite hairy.

Funny enough, went to Amsterdam for the friendly over there in 2009 and that kicked off on one of those bridges over the canal outside the old sailor, old bill were quick to stop that one but a few hours later the Dutch turned up again with a lot of them carrying umbrellas, fuckers. Spoke to plod once it had all died down and he told me they were all well known Ajax hooligans.

Please tell me it was the 24 hour nightclub the opposite end of the market square to Kilkenny's? madness in there.

All trouble I saw over the weekend was caused by groups of Germans asking for trouble, over the top bouncers and over the top policing.

Two older Reading lads I know were banged up on Friday night for getting into a tear up with some bouncers in some dodgy bar near Alexanderplatz.
