Yep. That's the majority of the fans turned against the manager,
Only saw patches of the game. Did Watford make a lot of changes to their usual line up. This seems to be getting more prevalent.

We did but it's more of the style we're playing now. We had one shot on target against a league one side in 96 minutes.

This after winning only one game in 10 including home games against Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough and not scoring from open play in what feels like forever.

We have only looked likely to score in pretty much one game in that run and that was only because Bournemouth can't defend set pieces. We look less organised every game that we play, I just can't see what Mazzari's trying to do with the side.

Surprised at how little adventure Watford showed. We never looked troubled.

Oh, and I love Steve Morison.

Strange that Walcott and Ox don't get booed isn't it...

Strange that Clyne and Mane don't get booed isn't it....

Lovren deserves all the shit he gets from our fans.

Very poor - one shot on goal summed it up!

Dreadful attacking and sloppy in defence.

Well done Millwall though - deserved it.0

I was thinking this earlier. Seems to have been a lot more upsets and close calls this year so far than usual, with far too many of the bigger clubs just not bothering with it. It's a real shame and it sort of takes away from the upset a little really for me.

Personally I don't feel that way mate. If whatever club wants to make so many changes and subsequently lose....then fuck 'em. Even as a Scot I like the FA Cup and it's a bollox that it is, imo, being de-valued by this attitude.

In all honesty as a lower league fan, beating a Premier League reserve side wouldn't really excite me.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Great season for upsets this. Well done Sutton and Lincoln in particular!

while its a shame to see most clubs in the top 2 divisions now treat the cup like crap (and i'd love to know stats to back up a fact that going out of the fa cup suddenly makes you a better league side) but i have to say this round has been one of the best fa cup rounds for a while.

although my biggest worry with the mass of changes in the FA cup is just how p*ss poor the youth/back up players really are at most of the biggest and strongest clubs in the country which does not bode well for the future for England.

Are there European games in the weeks leading or after these ties which might affected the attitudes of the sides involved?

I know United play in the Europa League on the preceding Thursday and following Wednesday; presumably other teams still in Europe have games aswell.

Have to agree with this. Is a Championship side beating a PL youth/reserve side that much of an upset?

I think that the way some clubs have treated this competition is nothing short of disgusting to be honest. Clubs like West Brom & Bournemouth, where this is their only realistic chance of silverware, playing weakened sides is just crazy. Add to this the fact that lots of L1 & L2 clubs received fines for changing their starting XI's in the tinpot trophy and yet there is not so much as a blink of the eye when Liverpool are plucking lads out of high school for games in what is supposed to be a special competition

Most failed in the tinpot trophy as well. Something is clearly still not right with the youth systems at the big clubs as I would have expected more of the U23 sides to progress in that competition against lower league pros.

Glad to see it's not just me being cynical!

Sutton v Arsenal. Bound to be on TV but can Sutton switch it to the Emirates? Far bigger pay day for them. I seem to remember going to watch Accrington Stanley playing Scunthorpe in the cup years ago at Ewood Park because they could get a bigger attendance. Could they be allowed to play it as Selhurst Park or similar? That's relatively nearby. Or have the rules changed?

When we played Farnborough in 2003, it was switched to Highbury 'for safety reasons' (but obviously it was hugely beneficial financially for Farnborough). I think it could only be switched if there were concerns that Gander Green Lane was not fit to host the game.

It can't be switched for financial reasons, only if the Police, FA and other authorities think it would be best for safety reasons. But I can't see that happening. Everyone at Sutton wants to play this tie at Gander Green Lane despite the hassle a lot of us are getting about buying spares. Bloody glory hunters

Gander Green Lane is fit to host the game. They've already had two sell-out crowds in the previous rounds including the logistical nightmare that was the 'friendly' derby with us.

After the Farnborough v Arsenal match, I understand that the rules were changed so that venues couldn't be swapped to benefit the smaller club financially. Although rumours abound that it was Farney's manager at the time who benifitted most.

Ahh thanks for that!

Not taking this game lightly! We Burnley fans still shudder at getting beat at home off Wimbledon when we were in the top flight and they were non-league back in the 70's.

Good draw that for Man United. Although we do have a poor FA Cup record v Blackburn only winning 2 of 8 meetings.
