I don’t think it matters who we get - either Shrewsbury or Bradford away - we’ll play a flat back 9 and lose.

Shrewsbury as it’s a nice day out
Bradford as more chance of winning

The only bonus is that both are on direct train lines - whoop!

I’m quietly confident of turning over Shrewsbury at home tomorrow. I expect Bowyer to field a strong team.

GK: Richard O’Donnell

RB: Kelvin Mellor/Adam Henley
CB: Anthony O’connor
CB: Ben Richards-Everton
LB: Connor Wood

RW: Harry Pritchard
CM: Jake Reeves
CM: Callum Cooke
LW: Dylan Connolly

ST: James Vaughan
ST: Aramide Oteh

2-0 City

Does anyone know when the second round is set to play out? We play Mansfield at home in the league at the end of December - that should be a cracker.

Feels like tonight’s replays have less interest than the Winky Wanky Cup games!

Our recent record is dire in the extreme but I’d be disappointed not to beat Numb this evening.

Another chance to see Yates playing in his preferred Doyle role as a central striker. 8 goals playing out of position is a pretty good return

The biggest game of the lot is being played tomorrow at Newport with the winner getting the glamour tie away at Maldon and Tiptree.

Exeter are a decent side but even if they weren't, I reckon there's absolutely zero chance of us making it through to the next round. We're coming off the back of three truly awful showings (with a combined total of about 5 shots on goal in said 3 games) and I'll be amazed if we can take the game to penalties never mind winning the tie in 90 mins. Honestly, if we start the game like we've been doing lately, then I expect us to be two goals behind by the end of the first half.

Dont fret, we cant create anything so it will probably be 0-0 and down to pens

Slightly more encouraging now I've seen the team. Nicky Law back, Bowman dropped.

We’ve missed a pen, hit the post and messed up a 1 on 1.

Jinx is alive and well

I don’t like the side Calderwood has put out but we have an outrageous injury list. Three youth team players on the bench who have never played for us before plus Taft who I think is injured (he’d be starting if he was fit) and Jones (who is coming back from injury too). So we basically had 13 fit senior players (including 2 keepers) to select a first 11 from. Basically picks itself.

If we somehow take this to extra time I’ll be amazed.

Exeter beating us 1-0. We’ve had no shots, no corners, no attacks of any note. I don’t think we’ve even been in their box.

So a trip to Cheltenham it is. Dire draw but probably the preferable outcome between facing them and Swindon as we have a horror record against Swindon!

With our form overall (especially away) the past month or so we will fancy going there and getting a result and with their home form they will feel they will fancy it so might be a decent game with two teams high on confidence.

shame we didn’t get you.

There’s a group of about 15 of us stopping over that sunday over Christmas, not much excuse needed for a piss up and a night out

Eastleigh confirmed for us. Harder for fans to get there and back, but a better allocation. Also slightly less embarrassing if we lose.

As I said before though, how you spin some interesting storylines out of this, I don't know.

Delighted to say we smashed Salford 4-1.
We had 4 players on international duty but had to play the game regardless.
So to beat those plastics was very nice.
No bbc documentary this year on your cup run you bunch of wankers.
Apparently we're really really bad this season, it would be a big shock if you didn't turn us over. Shame, we've had some good FA Cup battles in recent times, most notably when we were third tier and you were non league.
