Jesus, the violence at this tournament is like nothing I've ever seen. So widespread.

We've had the English, French and Russians in Marseille, then more trouble with Russian hooligans in the ground at the game. I've also seen videos of Northern Ireland fans getting into scraps with the French police and now, Germany and Ukraine fans have been pictured clashing.

Can only see it getting worse as fans retaliate and more people get involved. Shame really, because the football in the first couple of days has been pretty good. But the only thing making the headlines is the violence. Horrible.

Several clashes between Germany and Ukraine fans before tonight`s game also. The security is a joke.

The police are treating this like a union moan. They also prove their inexperience as their only solution is tear gas. It doesn't settle people down but makes them angrier.

France need help from neighbouring nations (especially the UK and Germany) as they can't deal with it. Simple as that.

France are struggling.

Another major concern has to be the fact there's been a few games were flares/fireworks have been brought in.

We'll never hear the end of this from the rugby fans and people who don't like football - can see articles being written now saying "Ban football" etc!

Sadly it will be the true fans who get hit most because you can bet if we did get kicked out they won't get their money back.

And to think Russia are hosting the World Cup, everyone knows they're well known for hooliganism - and now English fans are getting the blame.

The police are a joke aswell.

Been piss poor organisation by the French police from everything I've seen/read so far.

England v Russia in Marseille was the absolute perfect storm mind, I'm sure we'll still see smaller outbreaks throughout the tournament but not the 48 hour warzone type scenario of that again.

The Russian's seem to be trained in fighting. I imagine a lot of them might do some MMA/Boxing training. All wearing black also, definitely an organised group of some sort.

Could be a stag do.

Yeahh, this is the way the English deal with things, Magic, we joke... Obviously, as we've all said, the scenes in France are disgusting, and the police are utterly fucking useless, but other than that, what more can we do? We could all fly over there and seek retribution against the Russians I guess?

I'm actually dreading going out on Tuesday. Had a text off someone already out there who says watch your backs as the Russians/French are just picking off small groups. Police are telling England fans to go to Lille instead of Lens if you don't have a ticket, Only problem is Russia are there the day before!

Piss poor from the French this. Security meant to be strict as yet one fan gets into the ground with a firework.

I still can't get over the fact they're hosting the World Cup in 2 years and disgusted at the fact England fans are being criticised and potentially punished.

UEFA have to kick Russia out and take the World Cup off them.

On the first point, like they have the bollocks.... On the second point, that is up to FIFA, not UEFA, and, again, as if they have the bollocks.

I doubt the locals at Lens will be a problem to the England fans. Watch out for the Russians though.

Apparently the British police offered to send over several teams to help, but the French declined as they wanted to do it all themselves. How ridiculous.

You mean after the violence started? There's a number of English police that have been there to help from the start but if the French authorities declined extra help after it all "kicked off" then I don't understand their thinking.

So what's the likely outcome from Russia's disciplinary hearing? I know Russia have previous and almost were deducted 6 points from the qualifying campaign. They also were awared a 3-0 win when a flare hit Akinfeev so they've had there fair share of controversial moments. UEFA have come down hard on Russian clubs in the Champions League before, CSKA and Zenit have had partial and even full stadium closures before.

The charges are for the fireworks/flare gun and then the horrible scenes where they break through segregation and stampede at English fans. I personally want them disqualified and kicked out of this tournament immediately, however that's very unlikely and the Russian FA will say fans behaviour is out of their control.

Could they ban Russian fans from their last 2 games of the group? I think realistically we're looking at a hefty fine for the Russian FA, and possibly action to be taken for the next qualifying process. It doesn't help that Russia will host the next World Cup (fuck that) and there's no chance that will be taken off them.

I believe so. 5Live said British police wanted to send more officers to help deal with the situation in Lens/Lille on Wednesday and Thursday but they were told they were not needed.

I'm pretty sure that's true.

It's a French thing. You see, we're the best at everything.

I hope they manage to keep this under control then. For their own sake as well as the safety of everyone over there!

It's gunna kick right off on Wednesday innit. Will be interesting to see how the England and Wales fans react to each other if the Russians mob up again.

I don't think disqualifying teams from the tournament is going to be of any benefit, it would probably make matters worse. The fans have booked accommodation & travel, they'll still be out there, just with worthless tickets and more pissed off.
