Liverpool v Leeds
Man U v West Ham
Hull v Newcastle
Arsenal v Southampton.

Be interesting to see what sort of teams are fielded - Southampton and West Ham might fancy their chances against a weaker Man U/Arsenal side.

Hull v Newcastle is a great chance for both sides to get through.

Hopefully Sky show our game, I don't really fancy a 4th trip to that soulless stadium.

Asked for Boufal to replicate the Osvaldo goal on Sunday, but tonight will do.

Didn't get to watch the game, but I saw Rodriguez subbed off early. :(

Leeds should be easy win. Wanted United, Westham or arsenal at home tbh.

No real major surprises this round, interesting to still see a couple of Championship clubs in at this stage. Obviously Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are going to be the favourites especially as they've avoided each other in the draw. Fancy Leeds to cause an upset at Anfield.

Over confidence is a great thing, Leeds will be well up for it and it's not like you haven't been upset at Anfield over the last few years...

Would have been a decent draw if the top sides were away. Liverpool, Utd, and Arsenal to progress and they'll all hope to draw the winner from Hull v Newcastle.

I'd imagine another boring final like arsenal v Utd.

I get that but we are in great form there and the last two defeats was versus Stoke in the league cup semi's last time around (though still went through on pens) and Man Utd in the league which was ages ago now. Someone will get a result there soon enough but I cannot see it being Leeds who struggled to get past Norwich last round.

lol so much smug in here

we had our 2nd team out against Norwich btw, not that i'm saying our 1st team will beat Liverpool , i'm not as smug to make that prediction

oh fuck it, we've been written off before January 3rd 2010 Man Utd (pl team) 0 Leeds Utd (league 1 no hopers no chance, easy yanited win) 1

In the past I'd take nothing for granted believe me, Liverpool are as inconsistent as they come; but this season we seem to just get through games when we don't play well, and it would be a real shock if a midtable Championship club were to do Liverpool at home. If it were Newcastle we were playing, different story with the way Rafa has them running just now; but not Leeds I feel.

Glad you've forgotten the 2-0 defeat against Burnley.

You can have off days of course, but that was only the second game of the season and the only defeat so far; played around 10 games since then and been very good for most of that. We were talking about home form anyway which has been excellent for the majority of the year.

Liverpool won't be taking them lightly, but if they put a strong team out then they should win fairly comfortably. Leeds have started picking up some good results recently, so they won't make it easy for Liverpool that is for sure.

But have you taken into account that if Klopp's going to play fringe + youth players against Spurs, he will against Leeds?

Leeds played their own B team against Norwich, but against Liverpool at Anfield, they'll play a few more first team players who'll be more than up for the occasion.

This isn't a straight forward match that will see Liverpool into the next round. I'd say us, Hull and West Ham would have been easier matches for you guys purely because we're in the Europa too and our depth is shit, while Hull's is worse and West Ham are hit and miss at the moment. While all three teams would be lacking the same motivation that Leeds players will have to cause an upset.

in all fairness though on paper we should lose and lose comfortably

however there's a new confidence surrounding us atm, mainly due to having a Swedish international class defender heading things away for fun

I see Liverpool winning but not easily

Klopp is trying to raise the level throughout the whole club, and the only players that get in the first team on match days, and cup games, are those he thinks can do a job, whilst maintaining the level he expects. The players brought in for the EPL match through the week were brought in for game time and/or experience, but we as fans have every confidence in most of them (well maybe not Moreno and Mignolet tbf!!), and the youth players seem to be very good indeed. Alexander-Arnold is looking a genuine back-up to Clyne at RB, Stewart has shown he is solid in midfield, Grujic and Ejaria are still raw but look like real talents; and if Origi and Ings are limited to cup games, thats no real drop down in standard up front either.

I haven't watched Leeds for a few years, and Monk looks a good coach, so they might give Liverpool a game indeed; but I cannot see a shock brewing.

We've found it very comfortable against Championship teams in previous rounds, even taking into account a strong line-up v Burton and a some first teamers v Derby, our fringe players will likely include Sturridge, Origi, Wijnaldum, Mignolet etc.

I won't say it'll be easy, but it's obviously the draw that one would assume to make us most confident of progression with.

no doubt but with that comes over confidence and let's just say Leeds have nothing to lose or fear, be nice to be back at Anfield though, it's been along time

and no disrespect to Burton or Rotherham but these are the clubs we should be playing weekly, not that we don't need to earn it though

there's a new good feeling around us atm and things are finally looking up

Leeds are gonna get smashed. You will be hoping you played Burton and Rotherham weekly.

You're definitely the worst WUM of all time

I expect us to get beat 2 or 3 nil. Still missing key players so it's not like a weak Liverpool side would be playing our strongest. Jansson out by all accounts which makes our defence infinitely weaker, Bridcutt and Hernandez still injured and who knows who we may rest.

We're not very creative without Pablo and lacking the strength at the back that Jansson brings - I wouldn't have put it past him and Bartley putting in some great rearguard action and giving us half a chance.

Saturday's far more important and this is a shot to nothing so hopefully we go out and give it a good crack.

Stronger team that I expected tbh. No reason Can and Mane need to start but oh well.
