It's been decent so far... but the last few episodes have been immense. So immense that I reckon it deserves its own thread.

Gargano vs Ciampa last week? Oh my God. And then Ibushi vs Cedric Alexander this week? Wow. Anybody not watching this needs to sort that out right away.

So who else is watching it? Any favourites ect so far?

I assume this has nothing to do with superstar wars?

First round was a little patchy other than the odd match, not caught this weeks yet but i've heard great things about it.

highlights of the first round for me were Ciampa v Gargano, Gran Metaliiiiqqqquuuuue!!! (as Daniel Bryan says it), jack gallagher was actually quite entertaining too.

the rest of it sorta passed by as certainly watchable, but not groundbreakingly awesome.... until last nights episode. thursdays for me were normally looking forward to watching NXT but now i want to watch CWC instead

Ibushi Alexander will definitely be contender for MotY for me, and a lovely pop at the end
Trips came out and basically said 2you want him signed??? why not!"

Nope

Yeah, for the most part it's been decent with the odd patch of brilliance, but it really seems to have stepped it up a bit... and I only imagine it'll keep on getting better now as it moves on. Ibushi VS Alexander deserves to be watched by anybody who likes wrestling.

Yeah, saw the finale last night. Great stuff.

Surprised at the final though, as I actually totally assumed the final would be Sabre Jr vs Ibushi  To be honest, I think TJP was the guy I wanted to see win it the least... nothing against him personally, but in every single round bar the first he was against somebody who I liked more (Gargano, Rich Swann, Ibushi then Metalik) so it kind of pissed me off seeing him constantly beat people who I wanted to see advance more than him.

Still, what a great feature the CWC was in total. Nothing beat that Cedric Alexander vs Ibushi match, but pretty much every match offered a very entertaining contest.

It was always going to be TJP v Metallik for the simple reason that Ibushi and ZSJ aren't WWE talents and they have nothing to gain by putting them over. Also, think why they had TJP go over those guys you liked, it legitimises his victory more. A deserved winner, he's been a great indie wrestler before a lot of the NXT darlings even debuted in the indies.

Ibushi's 5 match run in WWE is going to be stuff of legend though. 5 matches, 3 potential MOTY candidates against TJP, Kendrick and Cedric - an NXT squash match and a very good match against Sean Maluta too. A real shame he may not sign and also that he's so fucked physically he might not have a much longer career (his own fault for being so reckless however you could say).

Gonna be weird having these guys open Raw for a bit. Imagine giving 15/20 minutes to the likes of Swann/Cedric/TJP/Gargano etc...and then being like 'here's a backstage segment, a 6 minute women's tag match and a Braun Strowman squash to follow...please don't change the channel'
