After the sting of Saturday I can understand why Town fans are a bit reluctant to talk about this one! Normally you would say its good to get back on the horse as soon as possible after a loss like that, and we could with a win regain top spot for a time, but in this case im not so sure. The players looks shell shocked after the game on Saturday to me, and mentally i think it was a bitter pill to swallow. Will be very interesting to see if there is a reaction, we have normally bounced back from defeat this season but this one felt different.

In terms of how we set up, despite the loss Im not sure there is much that needs changing. We played well and in hindsight were very unfortunate to lose the game. But depends how they have reacted in training. Im also tempted by the idea of getting Cornick on from the start and am intrigued about us perhaps going away from the diamond to the 433 with Cornick starting that we played early on in the season that sort of kick started us on our way this season.

Coventry deservedly beat us in convincing fashion in the reverse fixture and are really not the sort of side you'd be looking to play in this scenario and I am not confident of a result to be honest. In particular whenever we play Doyle in the Coventry midfield, he always massively impresses me and has taught our midfield a bit of a lesson on recent occasions when we have come up against his sides. Will be a key battle once again you feel.

Im not particularly confident I must say, but after Saturdays outrageously missed handball we are surely due a dodgy refereeing decision to help us on our way?! We can but hope.

Think we would settle for a draw at this stage, pitch is shocking so anything could happen. JCH and McNulty playing well up front and a strong back line. So maybe the odd goal in it?

Forgot about the pitch, oh dear even less confident now! Its a running joke on here but bad pitches really aren't our thing.

Probably another reason why we aren't as good as we think we are, we don't really adapt to poor pitches.

I'd be ok if we were coming off the back of just a single unlucky defeat. We're not. We're mid table form - at best - for a couple of months. Worse weve lost just about every game that was a test against our peers. The optimist in me sees a reaction. The realist another defeat

Another rugby pitch on Saturday to come!!

I try to think there’s more to life than football... but I was as deflated on Saturday night as I was after one of our many play off defeats! Doing all of the running and making all the chances, and to loose like that.

We do indeed go to 4-3-3, but slightly surprising that Elliott Lee is dropped after scoring on Saturday, not that apart from that he did that much more. Cornick, Collins (in his home town) and Hylton up front.

That looks more like a back three and wing backs lineup

Two defensive mids width from the fullbacks Berry in front of them and three strikers with Cornick floating. Be a nice change if so.edit. meant Berry as one of em but no matter its a flat back four

But prob too adventurous and tactically dynamic for us to come up with - but on paper perfect versus Coventry if they sit back as much as their fans will have us believe.

Interesting. I still think it's a blip and they'll be good enough to come through it, but if Luton lose tonight then suddenly they're being dragged back into it.

One thing Luton harp on about is their structure. Even though it’s improving going forward gradually, defensively they look totally disorganised, Cuthbert especially.

Two players going for the same ball leaving huge gaps elsewhere, especially with only 3 in midfield.

And I thought the Luton fans were joking about blowing it. Play like that for much longer and you will.

We are done.

The team of the early season has gone and has been replaced by... well total shit from that first half.

We aren’t getting promoted and are going to fall into the playoffs.

This could be far heavier than 2 goals.

The midfield is totally non existent; there is a big gap between the two defensive midfielders and the front 3 who can barely get in the game at all.

The defence is all over the place; marking each other rather than the opposition at times!

That first half was a total mess.

Surely Luton couldn't possibly throw automatic promotion away

We play them at home on the last day as well, so have potentially only got to get within two points to drag them into what I can already see being a last day fight for third at least.
