Matt Harrold could be a good signing for Orient. Really good in the air. Get a poacher type forward near him and a lot of goals will be scored. Not enough by Harrold though.

He was out nearly all last season injured so I was surprised he got a new deal with us. Probably help by being our manager for the last game of the season.

Not a bad keeper either :)

Presume this was anticipated as he didn't seem to feature in your starting xi this season.

Most likely although he'd have had a fight anyway with the way Cheek, Whitely and Ferrier are playing.

The transfer window no longer exists for the NL does it? Devonshire is no mug, he will have gone for a big fee and he has the contacts to get us some more firepower up front over the next few days.

Having said that, Tarpey is irreplaceable for a club of our size.

Transfer window does, but can still loan players (in a weeks time).

Not 100% guaranteed on Tarpey. Apparently EFL haven't yet confirmed they got the paper work in time. Please god don't let this end up on the tin pot thread

Us non league cloggers can sign players till the end of March. I remember Eastleigh signing N'Gala from Barnet in October/November last year.
That's what I thought. They took Gavin Hoyte and Sam Togwell from us too outside the window.

Wicked, I knew it went last season, but given the fuss we were making about bringing in a #BIGSTRIKER by today I had presumed it was back.

I'm also pretty certain Davis was talking about the loan window opening at meet the managers evening last week... :err: Lols if we haven't a clue what's going on and rushed through Harrold on a two year deal cos time pressure.

Edit: https://www.leytonorient.com/news/2017/august/harrold-signs/ titled: 'NEWS: Harrold joins the O's in Deadline Day deal'

Window in Spain doesn't close until tonight so expect Nicky Clee's move to Real Madrid to be announced later today.

At the time I was going to give the club the benefit of the doubt on this move but it seems so stupid now. He was far too good for our level and was perfectly happy to stay at the club then we push him out. Ridiculous decision.

Loved Keith at York. Perfect centre half. Another example of what was McNamara drinking that day letting him go. Along with Big Dave Winfield! Reap what you sow...

We've signed Regan Charles-Cook on loan from Charlton. He was on loan at Solihull Motors last season.

Poshest non league player of all time?
Close - provided you don't include the likes of Corinthian Casuals FC and Bournemouth Gasworks Athletic FC in your definition of non league.

In the Football League, West Country clubs seem to be particularly impressed by posh names - with the likes of Troy Archibald-Henville in the current Exeter team and (poshest of all??) Forbes Phillipson-Masters doing the rounds of Plymouth, Bristol and Exeter among others in the 80s.

Had a lengthy loan spell with us last season. Was ok. An average Conference North defender at best. Spent pre season with Darlington before being released.

Until recently Gosport had a player called TJ McClory-Cuthbertson.
