Making the long trip up for this one. Despite losing on Tuesday, we have been playing some great stuff. I think we just needed to make the subs earlier than Rossi did. The midfield needed some fresh legs and by the time we did, they were on top.

Great news that Akinde was fit enough for the bench on Tuesday. I am hoping he will be fit enough to start, but if he cant then I am still confident we will get some goals.

Ross
Santos Nelson Clough
Taylor Taylor Vilhete Tutonda
Ryce
Coulthirst Akinde

1-2 (Coulthirst, Vilhete) with Akinde to miss a sitter as he always does at Carlisle.

Not much motivation for this one, though we've performed better at home so far. Barnet are in decent form and playing good football so I think there'll be goals (surely we won't go 3 games without scoring...?).

I'd keep the team that started at Coventry, but Curle will probably think Miller has had his chance and Hope will return.

Campbell Ryce is one of those that normally performs well against us, and I remember Coulthirst putting in a few along the years too.

2-2 Miller, Parkes, Coulthirst, Akinde

surely we won't go 3 games without scoring...?

You mean like we went 7 without scoring back in February/March?

I can't really see us winning this, Barnet seem to have had a good start to the season and look like a top half team. We're in disarray, can't score and can't defend. I think it'll be 2-0 Barnet. Taking the lead just before half time after we've weathered some pressure, but make an awful mistake, and then in the last 15 minutes, just as we've been finally creating some pressure of our own a well worked goal from Barnet puts the game to bed.

No doubt if we lose the c*** 'lets sack keith curle' gang will let their voices be heard and you know which fans who post on here im talking about. Well who the fuck are we going to replace him with? who could do any better then eh?

Sacking the manager is not the solution, it is off the field problems that need addressed. Curle cant do much with them 3 lying scheming twats running the club.

So vent your anger to them selfish pricks instead.

I've supported Curle even throughout the shite during the second half of last season, he's done a really good job overall, but he's lost it. Hes had the summer to turn it around and he's failed. 32 games of relegation form can't be classed as a blip, it's getting serious.

You can't say he hasn't had backing, he's brought in players on big money and he's wasted £50,000 on a fucking Donkey of a Sunday morning striker.

We do have some quality in our squad, more than enough to stay up but we need fresh ideas to get the best out of them. I fear if we stick with Curle nothing will improve - why would it improve now when it hasn't in the last 32 games?

As for this game. We cannot keep a clean sheet and we're toothless in attack. So what do you think is going to happen? Rhetorical!

Another defeat, an even more downbeat toxic atmosphere around the club and even closer to the relegation zone. 0-2 is my prediction.

Really struggling to be motivated for this and Crewe away next week.

That slipped my mind!

It was more the fact we'd scored in 17 consecutive games before this latest 'drought' and how we've always been capable of scoring even when we've been terrible. I think we'll score this weekend either way.

£50,000 is fuck all these days in football when a player elsewhere gets sold for £200,000,000. So dont think we have wasted much money on this donkey Bennet.

I still think curle should be given a bit more time to see if he can turn it around as he is a compotent guy and he did bring a bit of a buzz back to the club which had been missing for quite a few years, so he deserves our patience at least.

It's not a neymar or dembele transfer but it's still money that could have been used on paying wages of another striker with a bit of ability from the fringes of a championship / premier league side. 50k fee could have paid 6-12 months wages of a decent player at this level, then there's Bennett's wages on top of that.

This year we've lost Wyke and Ibehre. We simply haven't replaced their goals which is partly why we're struggling.

I never called for Curle's head last season, I agree he deserves praise for turning the club around from the shit tip he inherited, but there comes a time when we can only go so far backwards. We are going backwards, we have been for the last 32 games. The summer was his chance to turn things round, but he seems to have failed. I really don't see us improving things consistently. We will win the odd game, but I can't see this team stringing a run of results together.

Have you any replacements for Curle in mind?

I'd have Neil Mc back if he wanted it. He'd probably get more out of our attacking players than Curle does that's for sure.

I fancy us getting Jim Bentley from Morecambe but he would not be that cheap to poach off them and I doubt the 3 stooges would do well to tempt him to come up here.

As for our attack I think that is our major issue right now, people still say its the defence but our attack is weak as piss. They just fanny around and wont just get forward and have a pop at goal, instead of fucking fannying.

I really do not know what they saw in Bennet to spend 50k on him and why Curle rates Hope so highly. I bet I could do a better a job upfront and if the manager told me to fanny around instead of shooting at goal Id just tell him to fuck off.

Bentley would be a good shout. He does well on a limited budget at Morecambe and he would get more out of Devitt and S Miller.

I expect us to lose tomorrow, but please please can Richie Bennett just get a goal. I'm hoping that if he scores he might get a spring in his step, go on a run of form and actually start to resemble a footballer

We should be going into this with confidence following the Exeter performance - and previous wins against Luton and Swindon. We simply need to score goals reflecting any periods of pressure - rather only having a single goal and letting the other team back in. We showed periods of midfield domination - something we lacked last season - just need to be positive and not try to defend a lead for a half - a la Allen. Hope we keep most of the same team. Would start with Fonguk, rather than from the bench, keep Akinde as a sub bring him back slowly.

Hope I'm wrong but with that team I can't see anything but a comfortable Barnet win.

well we've offered less than half of nowt going forward in this game. To paraphrase a great man, It's one nil at half time and we're lucky to have nil.

We just don't have the numbers. Akinde off injured and Nelson hobbling.

I'm thinking (loosely) that it's a result of our style of play. Pressing and getting everyone working so hard is obviously working wonders - with time and the right players on the pitch I believe we'll only improve this season, especially in terms of chance conversion. But my concern is the toll it has on our players - ordinarily with the numbers in our squad we'd be fine, but for even a fully fit squad high pressing tactics mean a lot of rotation is needed. Let alone ours which is so decimated by injuries.

The theory of our style is great, and it has worked in all but one and a half games this season (Crewe and firsst half vs FGR). But now players are getting injured, jaded/tired... we've got a full week until Crawley for some much deserved down time. If the players performances drop off 60+ minutes again, then there are big problems.

Lucky to get away with a point, although we probably did create more it was only because Barnet sat back for so much of the game. They have a lot of really quick-footed rapid players and you'd think they're the sort of team who will tear opposition apart from time to time but struggle when they have to grind results out. For most of the game we were just slow and clueless looking as as usual only showed some urgency at the end.

That was pathetic.

Pathetic goal to give away, then all the possession but did absolutely nothing with it. I don't think we had an effort on goal until the 85th minute.

Great goal, but it just papers over a pathetic, toothless performance.

I really don't think Curle has a clue what he's doing. That starting 11, the awful first half and then to not change it at half time was just crazy.

Oh and Richie Bennett. Richie Richie, I honestly thought he was going to get that goal he needs, but when the fucking donkey got clean through, he decided to attempt to take about 10 touches within the space of a second and fell over.

I really want him to succeed as a league 2 striker, but I don't see anything in his game.

Even his headers seem to always go off his head in the wrong direction.

Still not good enough and lucky to get a point, fantastic goal from Miller. Could've even snatched all 3 points at the death but the keeper made a great save from a header.

I agree the late goal papered over the cracks of the previous 85 minutes, we looked lost of any ideas and I'm worried the players weren't all giving 100%. I can't think of anyone who performed well for us, dire stuff.

Barnet were a neat team going forward, some really tricky players. They could push for a playoff spot this season.
