Clarke been sacked at Rovers. Cotterill’s been all over it like a rash in the last few weeks, he’s been sat with Hamer at their last two home games and actively wants the job. If Wael swallows his pride he’ll appoint him which will make me feel sick.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Cotts does make the move north of the river. Knows the area, still lives in the area I believe.

Wouldn’t like to see it but I can see him doing well there.

I'm not so sure GG, with the suspected budget cuts mentioned by DC, I can see it being a right poisoned chalice and Cott's isn't adverse to speaking out if he's not happy with things, as we well know.
I don't want him to go there at all and don't think he's the character they would want either.
It would spoil the relationship between our support and a successful Manager who's held in high regard. Go there and the relationship is totally gone for me. Cheers last time he was in BS3, total derision if he ever turns up again if he takes the job in BS7.

I’m so fed up with the clubs social media, I’ve had to unfollow them on Twitter and Instagram. Anyone else reached this point yet.

They aren't as bad as they were at the start of the season imo. Problem they have is it's going to be impossible now to get the fans back onside.

I like the bristol bears Twitter person

Been off this forum for a while, and can't believe how quiet it is now.

Especially this thread.......nothing since December.

So............Lee Johnson, what are your views at this point in time?

Seriously, totally fed up with the polarised views on OTIB, so interested to get some thoughts from a different source.

Personally I like the guy, and think he is the right fit for the club, and the direction we are trying to go in. OK he's not perfect, but I would be massively disappointed were he to leave.

..........uhh, OK then
Ignore the Brentford fan.

I like Johnson too, he's clearly not the finished article management wise but if you read numerous newspaper articles he's clearly highly rated amongst others.

Barely gets credit when he puts a good run together, like currently... but the vultures will be out again after a couple of losses guaranteed

While LJ is doing extremely well, there's a nagging feeling that, at any time, we could go on a losing run again. That, I think, is why he's polarising people over on OTIB along with football perceived as lacking entertainment. Some of the point scoring on OTIB of late is childish rubbish and the main reason I don't bother posting on there TBH.
Long may the current upturn continue and LJ continue to learn, it's only to the benefit of the club after all.
One thing indisputable is that his record can't be knocked.

Cheers guys. refreshing to get sensible replies on this topic (well mostly, eh Charlie?)

As you say Ciderup, The quality of OTIB is being dragged right down lately by the constant In/Out point scoring, which is a shame, as OTIB is generally one of the best club forums around.

I don’t mind the football, always have said it’s a results based business so I don’t care how the football looks, but I’m not really a fan of Johnson. Like CU said an implosion is always just around the corner, he speaks like a twat in the press and I think we could do better. That being said, the job he’s doing is a reasonable one so it’s hardly a crisis.

Ah Dolly. Let's not go there Tom. Suffice to say you were banned without reason.
OTIB used to be a great forum but is full of sanctimonious super fans who won't have anyone holding a different opinion and set out to belittle those people with petty (I'm better than you) jibes.
You're well off out if there as it's not a good place like it used to be.

Same people that belittled anyone who didn’t want Johnson sacked a month ago are now the ones throwing a strop when they’ve been called out for it and made to look a bit silly.

Will only take 1 or 2 off performances and results and the knives will be out again mind, zero doubt about it.

That's an interesting point for me. No doubt there are better managers out there, but is there a better "fit" right now?

City have a plan for the way forward, and LJ appears to have bought into this plan 100%. Whereas I think most managers are only interested in the here and now (which is fully understandable, as the norm is that they would get the sack if the team doesn't perform), but LJ is happy to look to the long term future of the club.

Clearly this strategy can only work with the backing of the owner when going through bad patches on the field, but LJ obviously has that.

Doesn't Johnson do this every season? Puts together an impressive run for 45% of the season and then a terrible one for 55% of the season? Did the same at Barnsley and seems to have done it every year at Bristol City.

Probably worth sticking with him in the long run though, still very young in management terms and you would hope he can finally come up with a Plan B when form drops off. Does he have one this year? haven't seen you lot play.

I totally agree Aaron. Why people have to try and belittle posters for an opposite opinion isn't something I understand and I find it sanctimonious in all honesty. Debate the content by all means (doesn't happen) but trying to act 'superior' seems to be the modern way over there.
What's the mantra supposed to be? Attack the post and not the poster? Some people really don't apply that and it makes for a very poor forum IMHO which is a real pity as it was very good previously.
