I really don't rate Martin at all. I know it's ridiculous given his magnificent goal scoring record, but he's playing in a team with by far and away the best individual attacking players in the league, and gets some sublime service.

He may well be a decent finisher, but I think there are quite a few all round better strikers than him in this division.
Derby fans I said this in 2015 after you beat(?) Ipswich away from home (think Ince scored and you won 0-1) and you all laughed. Again, he came on today and did shit all. He's a camel and your club could and will do much better.

Went looking for it and got it. Same as Vydra
Oh I know. Both were definite pens.. the reactions after both says it all.. no arguments from either sets of players.

You need to get a grip youth.

We're still laughing at you. His record speaks for itself, not quite gonna jump overboard because he had no effect during a 30 minute cameo in a game we were never in. Same could be said for Nugent/Vydra/Winall.

7 goals vs Wolves and Derby.. damn

Johnson out lads?
I never quite turned against him.
There was always patches- sometimes minute- of great play.

However, I won't get carried away. Another collapse like last season would be totally unacceptable.

Lets see how things are at Christmas, I just want a boring season, though a bit of top end nervousness would make a pleasant change

You're still laughing yet you even ended loaning him out last season and the clubs supporters that you loaned him to quickly recognised he's a camel.

I'm not judging him on a 30 minute cameo, you're on sky every other week. I've seen enough of Martin to make my mind up, he was shit and he still is shit. Bin him off and get Winnall in permanently, he'll be better for you.

That club he averaged 1 in 3 for despite a public fallout with their manager and being cast out for a long period who's goals and all round play helped them to the play offs? Aye, alright. He's not the same player as 13/14 and 14/15 but he's far from shite. Still managed decent returns in the seasons since his peak under McClaren.

You're not judging him on yesterdays cameo yet dug up a quote from 2015? Obviously triggered something. I won't be tagging you when he next bags but feel free to keep bringing this up when you see his next substitute appearance, it'll be the same debate with the same outcome.

He's not even first choice under GR so not sure he quite needs 'binning off' for Winnall who himself isn't making the starting 11.

No I'm not judging him on yesterday's performance as ineffective as he was (as he always is, I should say) but it was relevant to the match day thread.

Martin is no good and doesn't have a future at Derby and you'll be a better side for it when you've seen the back of him. Period.

Don't understand how we'll be a better side when he's not even in the current one (hasn't been for a year or so now), that literally makes no sense at all.

You've got your opinion, I'll stick with mine along with the facts that don't suit your argument. Adios.

Luke, I probably watch Derby as much as you do, if not more given our fixtures between each other aren't usually televised, and you're still fond of Martin because of that season he had when Bryson scored 16 from midfield.

He's shit, get over it. "Adios".

You don't attend games do you?

Yeah, have done for about 15 years. I'm not a season ticket holder anymore but still go when I can. Made a couple so far this year, watched all the others via RamsTV/Sky. Last year was the first year of not having a season ticket for 10 years due to a move up north and living 490 miles from Pride Park. Moved back down here a couple of weeks ago so half season ticket will more than likely be on the cards.

Tell me within all that lot where you're more qualified to give an opinion on my football club than I am?

Funnily enough, the one full season I've not had a ST is the season Chris Martin wasn't at the club. Previous to that I've probably seen a good 90% in the games he's played in for this club live, home and away. The reason I'm fond of him is because for 3 and a half years he was the focal point of one of the best periods of football we've had since I've been going. Goals, assists, fluid football and games that will live long in the memory which he had a big hand in. As I said above, he's not the same player and requires a team to set up a certain way to get the best out of him. We won't be doing that anymore and he'll more than likely leave next summer IMO. He's still a good player at this level regardless.

I don't mind people having an opinion but let's not disregard facts here. That's the only issue I have with Derby fans who hold a similar opinion too.

Apologies then, I thought you were the Derby fan on here that didn't attend games.

Had a great day in Bristol yesterday.

Some cracking pubs, good beers, and a very nice city centre.

I actually thought we were decent value for our half time lead, notwithstanding the couple of good saves Carson has made. Not a great first half, but ok.

Second half was different again. City stepped up a gear and we capitulated. Again.

I missed the last goal as was halfway to Parson Street Station (nearly as far as walking to city centre ffs! Won't do that again). Managed to get back to the Kings Head and started drowning sorrows by 5.30.

So well done City. A "team" working hard and playing some decent football. For us, Rowett has a massive job on his hands. Too many players on fat contracts playing within themselves and he'll need a couple more transfer windows before he can ship some of them out and bring his own players in. Players who will show the spirit and workrate we saw from City yesterday.
