Going to have quite a impact it seems with the FA thinking about making teams have at least 12 home grown players in a 25 man squad - increasing it from 8 (I think..)

Will affect a lot of teams of course and might lead to some creative transfers and change of policy.

I am sure the Premier league are already thinking of plans to get around this!

Sorry guys its behind the paywall but couldn't find any other papers apart form the odd local one with the full story:

The premier league is one of the countries biggest commodities and brands. It would be stupid to limit its appeal with a move like this. We are finally seeing a generation of players raised having seen quality technical and tactical football. And finally have young players playing abroad. And it's no surprise to see some vaguely successful England teams at various levels as a result.

I hope we don't throw that away over hatred and wanting to be a shut off little island of hateful pricks.

Also Wolves have a large number of non-British players.

Infact Wolves were one of the teams who would not be affected by any new ruling..

Most in danger were:

Chelsea
Man U
Us
Brighton
Huddersfield.

Anyway owners will just adjust I presume and plan for this or more likely try and more their way around it!

Wolves have a lot more British players in the squad than most people realise. And in amongst all the crap thrown our way, the Young British players from our academy have been brought through by Nuno and his staff in a significantly greater way than under previous British managers.

Would mean they have to revise the transfer policy though I imagine.

The proposals would barely effect most clubs. The FA have basically said it's either what they're putting forward or (for once) they'll actually use the power they have and take it upon themselves to make it harder for players to get work permits. Personally I would favour the latter anyway. We want world class foreigners, not the bang average ones that populate most Premier League clubs.

No we don't. Robin Never, William Brolly, Ivor Cavalry, David Jorton, Robert Vinager, Rupert Patrick and Adam Trouter, John Mutton and Ronan Sass, all British. And Helder Costa is named after the high street brand, Greggs. The only non-English speaker in our squad is Conor Coady.
