Luton's dominance despite their defeat yesterday got me thinking about how poor their record is at Fratton Park. It's a bogey ground for them.

What are your team's bogey grounds where you simply can't find a way to win? Bramall Lane and Vicarage Road are the two that spring to mind for Pompey. We can never seem to beat either Sheffield United or Watford on their own turf even when our team is significantly better than theirs!

We have never won at Notts County. We'd lost 10 on the bounce there until our draw the last time we played.

Bramall Lane, don't ever remember winning there. And London Road was until a couple of years ago, we'd never won there now we've won 3 on the spin.

Priestfields seems like one of them places as well but not certain without checking, although we won there last season.

Yep, Bramall Lane - awful record there.

From our days in L2: Morecambe and Swindon spring to mind.

L1: Walsall and Southend.

I don’t think Kidderminster have ever won at Kenilworth Road in something like 10 attempts?

Also Cambridge are becoming our bunny side of late.

Used to be Walsall, prior to last season we hadn't won there since Jesus was a lad.

Aye Swindon's a terrible place to go for us, we've had a couple of wins in recent years at Southend though.

Boot on the other foot, Northampton and MK Dons are usually good for 3 points, shame they got relegated really.

Out of teams in this league, Coventry easily. It's my closest away game and I'm still thinking of sacking it off such are the "performances" we've put in there over the years. Don't think we've won there since the 1920's.

In other leagues, QPR (lost 20 out of 23 since the 1950s) and Carrow Road (not won there since the 1930s).

Ours has been Goodison Park, won there a handful of times since the 80s and had some dreadful results in the process - 7-1, 6-2, 5-0.

In this league we always seemed to do badly against Wimbledon so hopefully the AFC variety didn't inherit that gene.

The Den (although Millwall are just a bogey team and we would lose on Woolwich common)
Priestfield
Craven Cottage (Again, just away to Fulham in general) I’ve been about 7 or 8 times including 3 when they were at Loftus Road and we lost the lot).

Peterborough away for us
I think our last two results down there were 4-1 and 8-2 defeats

We have never beaten Fleetwood.

A bit of research tells me we have 1 win in 12 attempts at Barnsley.

Pretty certain there was a stat the last time we played that you haven't beaten us in Coventry since the 1940's or something similar.

Edit: 1923!

Quite glad Cov came back up. 7 defeats and 2 draws in their 9 visits to us. (Partly due to persistent cup giant-killing in the past).

Mind you, we've nothing to boast about. Took us about 80 years to win a league match at Port Vale, and had to wait for Barnet to acquire league status before achieving a win in London

Probably a good thing Exeter didn't come up, as I haven't seen us win there over a 24 year period

When we got promoted to the prem we had an excellent win live on tv? Blake ran the show. Nothing since then though

Finished 2-2? A Friday night game? Think so, can only think of winning on pens in the JPT there.

Yeah, even in our promotion season we just managed to get a draw. We've been beaten every time at Stamford Bridge, same goes for Roots Hall. We won once in the early 90s there

Indeed, a fairly decent record at Scunthorpe until they moved to Glanford Park, have never won there.
Awful record at Luton, where I don't think we've won for 50 odd years and it's not like we haven't played them enough, I'm so looking forward to going there in a couple of weeks time!

We did have dreadful records at Carlisle and Port Vale, both with 50+ year gaps for victories but since finally winning again it's not too shabby.

To be honest up until Paul Cook came along and we could travel up North on a thursday afternoon our away record North of the Watford gap was terrible.
