Middle class? Have you ever been to Villa Park? Just because you lot resemble unwashed rats doesn't make us middle class for having heard of a shower.

I expect a scrappy one goal win either way, though I would expect it to go our way. We're not bad recently with the exception of playing by a fucking mile the best team in this division. If we are seriously going to talk about promotion this season we should be beating relegation fodder let's be honest.

Another myth blues like to play on that they are the working class club and villa are the well to do lot. What I do know is that they have far more hatred for us than they have love for their own club which tells you everything. I don't feel the hatred one bit for them like brummie villa fans do. Anyway they will be more up for this than we will and it will be one hell of a scrappy game at one of the most hostile grounds in the country. I'd like to say I'd be happy with a draw, but I really wouldn't.

Stop acting the bigger club bollox, they hate you just as much as you hate them and both clubs care far more for there own than each other.

Wrong! Trust me, the hate from them is far more. I don't even hate blues and that's because they were off my and a lot of villa fans radar until early 2000s. Loads of villa from out of town who don't have the same feel than those villa fans from brum. It's not me being arrogant or playing it down, it's just the way it is.

I can only guess VL has never lived in Brum for any considerable amount of time, having been born-raised-and resided in Brum my whole life, I can assure you the average match attending Villa fan from Brum has the exact level of dislike for Blues as any Blues would have for them. In recent years the old 'obsession' has become the buzz word, from both sides in fairness, but for me it's the same as any derby up & down the country, you enjoy your own team winning, if you then see your rivals have lost then that's the cherry on the cake for the weekend.

If you've got any doubt Google Villa fans at Blackburn to see how little they care about us

A proper Derby match, real hatred. One of the top ones in England imo.
For me this, Sheffield, North East, Wall v West Ham and Bristol are the best.
Think many many top flight prawn sandwich brigade Derbies are overrated due to being overplayed, ie Merseyside, Manchester, North London.
Having said that what I really need to know is how many coaches?

I think you're missing a certain black country derby. I implore you to come and see one for yourself if you haven't witnessed one.

That derby always looks shit on TV, the atmosphere is always non existant.
Yeah it's horrendous I was only being flippant, they didn't even have segregation in the game at Carrow Road last year

Yes, I would imagine that also is a good one.
From an outsiders point of view, little between the sides in terms of size, fanbase, etc, which I think helps and is another reason why the Sheffield Derby is so good.
If I was pushed I would you are bigger than West Bromwich and we are slightly bigger than our rivals, but to me it makes it more interesting than say Merseyside, Manchester, North London where theyre all huge clubs but one definetly bigger than the other.

Tbf mate I have stated that us out of towners don't feel the same about blues as villa fans that live in brum do. I know plenty of villa that hate blues with a passion, but they are mainly brummies. I just think you have a lot of fans that are prepared to take the hatred to another level. Imo we sing too much about you and just look at our forums to see how much we go on about you. I found Blackburn away totally embarrassing if I'm honest. Because of our much broader fanbase I think the hatred gets diluted for some of our fans.

Those first two games in the premier league were something else. Two terrible results for us, but the chaos of it all was something the premier league had never seen before and is unlikely to see again. St Andrews when full with the crowd on your back is as tough a ground as you're likely to go to. Villa Park, although not as hostile was very hostile on that first meeting for years. Fans on the pitch, fans fighting in the stands, fans trying to mob up and get to each other in the ground and kicking off outside. There has been some dire games, but usually you get something happening whether it be on or off the pitch. The way things have gone lately with all the restrictions, it's killing the whole feel to it. Plenty of players and a few managers have crossed the divide. I've heard it said before that you will never get two clubs in a Derby that are so different to each other than villa and blues are.

Enjoyed that, some good stories of past battles. The one of Blues going into Villa’s dressing room in ‘83. Imagining Steve McMahon there cowering in the corner with Villa barricading the door

Wouldn’t blame ‘em when the likes of Harford, Blake, Coton, Hopkins, etc. are baying for blood.
Thought you would enjoy that story.

Another myth that's played on. Of course we have more fans in well to do areas. We also have more fans in working class areas. Both clubs are traditionally working class clubs.
