Yet they only beat you in injury time in both games, pretty good testament to yourselves in that case.
We did alright bm89, the best we could do TBH. They were a tad wasteful with their chances and should, in all honesty, have put us away far earlier than they did at our place.

I never saw Real or Barca in the flesh Bobbin, hence my reaction. I stand by it as well. The way they press and move the ball is the best I have ever seen. Let's be honest here, in that 2nd leg, if their finishing was anywhere near their approach play, they would have been out of sight!
I've seen them on the tele loads of times obviously but their speed just didn't hit me until that 2nd leg.
Maybe Real and Barca were / are better but I've never seen them to compare TBH. Were Arsenal's 'invincibles' a better football side? That's a fair question but I'm not sure they were at the level I saw on Tuesday. The invincibles had a far better defence certainly.

Yeah, fair enough. Reading back through the messages I might have been a bit gung ho with my reply.

In terms of their pressing and passing teams to death they are very, very good. Typical Pep side really and if we’re talking of just sides we’ve seen in the flesh then yes, I doubt we’ve seen much better in this country. I’m fortunate enough to have seen Barca live on 7 occasions including an absolute demolition job on Valencia in 2012 which I think is probably the best team performance I’ll ever see, it was breathtaking. I just don’t see Man City doing that to one/some of their closest rivals.

If we’re talking about best ‘teams’ in the PL then Man City don’t come close for me, down to their defence. The Invincibles, and Man United of the late 90s would beat them in my opinion, just by being much more complete sides. Even perhaps Chelsea a few years back were a better well rounded side. Granted, none of them had the attacking prowess in midfield that City do.

As I said earlier though, I like City and would love to see them win the CL and go on to dominate Europe for a few years.

I can't disagree re their defence Bobbin but I would imagine Pep will be looking at that and has already signed Walker who has to be up there for full backs? If they can sort out / bring in a decent defence, they just could be at an even higher level but I do agree their defence is not up to the standard of the rest of the team. Mangala is just plain crap! whoever thought it was a good idea to spend £32M (?) on him needs shooting!

Can't be that great if they can't score vs Will Norris, Danny Batth and Conor Coady.

Alright, I think we have got it now.
BTW how good are Forest?
Beating the 1st team of the mighty Wolves, who's reserves I am led to believe (not sure where from) didn't concede against Man City

Made nine changes from the first team in the previous league fixture, that number again is 9 incase you didn't read it properly. Maybe we can have a thread talking about how our reserves will soon rule Europe :shifty:

Forest are good also, they've already won 2 European Cups so our el galacticos have some catching up to do.
