What is so terrible about Aldershot’s ground? I’ve been to the New Den, the Emirates and Old Trafford and I wouldn’t say they’re any better than the Recreation ground.

Quite a decent shout, but how come you didn't tell us where Penndarryn park was? Especially having named Slough Towns?

    Which SJP btw?

Merthyr is alright. The people are sound, you come across as a right snob tbh.

Perhaps the real SJP will be less of a 'shithole' when it is back to being a 4 sided ground again. Sometime during next season I guess.

I have been to SJP on a number of occasions, and while it isn't great, at least it had a terrace.

the small open end used to house away fans, there are better away in in the Southern League Premier than the away end at SJP

    Seriously?
I loved White Hart Lane and the new one will have to be amazing to be better, of the more modest stadiums Rotherhams and Shrewsburys are capable of having an atmosphere.

From watching with Wrexham and being in the away end:

    Top 5:
    1. Aggborough (seems a fairly popular choice for fairly obvious reasons)
    2. Griffin Park (pubs galore, good standing and seating section)
    3. Hillsborough (Biggest ground I've seen us play a league game in)
    4. Falmer Stadium (example of a new ground done well, Brighton created a hell of an atmosphere too and we nearly shocked them in the replay)
    5. Prenton Park (great facilities, common-sensical police and stuff to do in the area)

    Worst 5:
    1. Recreation Ground (the facilities are atrocious and all but 1 times I've been there they've stuck us in the freezing corner. Don't get a tea there, the milk is always off)
    2. Newport Stadium (when they played there and we were penned into one section of the same stand as them, having coins and bottles thrown at us)
    3. Holker Street (edge of the world)
    4. Deva Stadium (the games between us two are always farcical)
    5. New Meadow (might be a little biased because of the 3-0 loss)

Haven't been to many outside of London. It depends what you search in a ground I guess. Is it important to have boozers next to it? Not to me but maybe it's a cultural thing. I've enjoyed Stockport's Edgeley Park due to the whole matchday experience. Some beautiful pubs in the area (I don't remember how close to the ground they were though). I don't think I've experienced any particular bad grounds apart from Macclesfield. Nothing springs to mind really.

My favourite for the ground itself is (or rather was) Upton Park but for the pints I enjoyed with my Orient companions, it has to be Brisbane Road. A special mention to Bramall Lane for being a proper old school football ground.
