What a load of old......

So, we head into this fixture with a heavily depleted squad - and it seems Northampton have recruited in numbers.

We’re poor at Valley Parade, but after last weeks no-show at Yeovil, I expect a positive response.

We have no senior RB available, and I don’t think Jacob Hanson is ready to fill this position, as shown last Saturday.

3-5-2

GK: Lukas Raeder

CB: Adam Thompson
CB: Matthew Killgallon
CB: Nat Knight-Percival

RWB: Alex Gilliead
LWB: Tyrel Robinson

CM: Timotheé Dieng
CM: Romain Vincelot
CM: Nicky Law

ST: Charlie Wyke
ST: Shay McCarten/Paul Taylor

1-0 City

Wyke

We have recruited in numbers and now we have the biggest squad in the entire football universe...probably.
We will lose to Bradford. Like we always do.

Oddly confident of a result here. Seems to be a buzz round the place now with the 5 new signings, and we've been linked to more in the last couple of days. Even a competitive performance would help to keep the optimism up, but I'm backing us to nick a 1-1 draw.

If defence is still fecked then Northampton have every chance. Given up on predicting our home games, we either look alright which is enough to beat a lot of teams in this league or downright shambolic.

If Northampton are ever going to beat us it has to be today given how threadbare our side is

Totally predictable conceded from a corner,no height in the team. Not only missing Wyke as a focal point going forward but missing him defending set pieces as well.Praying it really is due to injury he’s missing and nothing more sinister

For how bad we played (probably the worst since Taylor), for the fact we have a silly injury list, for the fact we are tactically devoid and played a centre back up front all second half.. we probably should have won the game.

I'm never one to make excuses for players or McCall, especially after such a shit performance. However I can't blame them today, 7 first teamers injured including our main striker, 3rd choice keeper, kids at FB and no strikers it was always going to be a struggle. That said Northampton were garbage, just not as shit as us in front of goal, it looked like a bottom of the league clash tbh. Can't believe we are still 6 points clear of 7th, if we sign a couple of decent players and get our injuries back playoffs should be a walk in the park. This gets said every year, but this could be the worst league for many years. We haven't looked good at home all season but are still comfortable and Charlton have won something like 2 in 12 and are still up there.

On another note, our fans were dreadful today, I'm not have the performance as an excuse as at kick off it was like a library and it's been the same all season. Northampton fans were fantastic throughout always singing regardless of how poor the game was, and they're or were 3rd bottom, that's support our fans only make noise to moan at our players, embarrassing.

Didn't go today but it sounds like a few Bradford fans aren't happy with the style of football we played today! When you've lost 5 on the spin away from home you have to play gritty football to get the win! Top stuff and really confident of avoiding relegation

Didn’t expect a team in the relegation spots to play any other way. If you’re expecting praise then I doubt you’ll find many willing to give it. You were dreadful and so were we. The difference was you took your chances and we hit the bar and had a goalmouth scramble cleared. A shocking game that will live long in the memory as it’s the worst I’ve seen for many years.

Lost our last 7 to Bradford, lost our last 6 away games conceding 16 in our last 4 I believe. Only 2 away wins all season. Went there and did what we had to do, battle and remain organised and actually attempt to score. Bradford are a surprisingly small side, that pitch can’t be great if your trying to play a passing game. Obviously you are missing Wyke massively as you stuck a cb up top.

Made me chuckle though the amount of Bradford fans complaining how physical we were when we kept getting destroyed by Hanson, ravenhill and Jones, all silky of course.

The team reminded me of Swindon sides of the last 5/6 years, never seen a Bradford side so small. Every set piece I thought we'd concede.

Not sure were you are seeing all these fans complaining about your style however? Most are to busy sharpening the pitch forks against the owners or McCall, the game has become second fiddle now. Go on Claret and Banter if you want a laugh, forum melt down gold, our twitter hashtag isn't any better. You'd think we were Bury, god forbid we do get in that situation, I suppose a fair few of our "new" fans aren't even used to losing two on the trot.

Mostly on the illuminating place that is Twitter. As you say most seem to be fuming with the owners though. Whereas we have done business early and it seems to have made a big impact. Still a striker and winger needed and need to ship out a good 10 or so!

I don’t really have a problem with how Northampton played as a lot of teams do it and it usually works against us, but they were physical, leaving feet and elbows in, high boots and stuff and they were timewasting when it was 0-0 which is never a good sign and frankly unnecessary as we didn’t create anything until late in the second half. The ref didn’t give a shit about it as usual.
