Arsenal will see this as a perfect game to ease the tension around the club given their latest pressing of the crisis button. A routine home win would be a tonic. Our last encounter with Arsenal was far from routine, that 3-3 draw after letting a 3-0 lead slip. Clearly we can do some damage when we're good enough, but so far we're pointless, and remaining so after 4 games would be an ominous start.

Whilst it's been a struggling start to the season, optimism was given a shot in the arm with the performance in the agonising defeat to Man City. If we can have more of that, we'll cause Arsenal some headaches as well. It was compact and back to basics, frustrating them, but also created a couple of good chances of our own. Not nearly as open and obliging as we normally are to the better teams, and this would also seem to be a fixture suitable for that. Of course we might revert to the opening games' tepidness, in which case we will be in trouble.

Any chance of Wilshere playing? That'd be weird. Unfortunately I can't make the game, the bloody cheek of people who organise weddings that clash with Bournemouth games and then expect me to attend! :dis::P1:

I'd love another winless result for Arsenal here, if for nothing else to see the reactions on YouTube. Unfortunately, I can't see anything but a home win, albeit an unconvincing one which will still be enough to have certain fans giving it all about Wenger.

2-1

This has been a lot easier than I was expecting. Bournemouth look very poor, like a team that are going to struggle this season.

See Welbeck scored? Told you he's good.

Lol

He's played fairly well today, but my God does he make scoring the most difficult looking thing in the world.

Welbeck is good, he deserves multiple apologies.

It'll take more than one game for me to change my mind on Welbeck. I'm still with van Gaal on this one.

We are quite good for giving a player with questions over his head a goal (or two) to get him going!

I don't know much about the game beyond a few comments I've read, which don't sound good. Shame Defoe hit the woodwork. But otherwise it sounds poor, and seems I was better off spending yesterday smashed at a wedding!

No Lewis Cook again, no idea what Howe's issue is there. Our best midfielder seems last on the pecking order.
